The deans trusted them to make their own decisions for the upcoming match, only giving them one instruction which they had to absolutely comply with.
Dean Privett's lone instruction was for Shye to fight in the third match and that selfishness shall not be tolerated even if they win.
Aside from that, the representatives themselves have the final call on who to send out for each round.
"Deans, it's time. Please proceed to Large Arena 4 for your academy's fourth-round match"
Hearing what the staff member said, everyone inside the Colzen Academy station was shocked.
The combination of words that the staff member said felt like a heavenly tune as everyone's heart started beating faster.
This was a huge chance to gain popularity!
There were only four large arenas beside the main arena in the middle and three of those large arenas were already reserved for the matches of the top three academies so they couldn't believe that their match against Amarantha Academy would be held in a large arena.
Fully prepared and giddy with anticipation, the Colzen representatives strode out of the academy station and energetically walked towards Large Arena 4.
Meanwhile, inside the luxurious office with vast windows providing a full view of the tournament, the middle-aged man's subordinate spoke:
"Is this arrangement alright sir? Wouldn't the other academies complain if Colzen turned out to be too incompetent?"
The middle-aged man, Blas, simply chuckled at his subordinate's remark.
He then took a hit of the premium quality cigar stuck between his index and middle fingers before replying:
"Alex, do you not trust my decisions anymore?"
"I do sir but–"
"Then just watch, Colzen will give everyone a big surprise."
Seeing the confident look on Blas' face, Alex didn't dare speak again and simply watched as the Colzen representatives made themselves comfortable on the lavish and plush ringside seats of Large Arena 4.
"Hey, look! Colzen and Amarantha's match will be held on Large Arena 4!"
It was pretty evident that although they participated in the emergency meeting, they didn't take the words of their deans to heart.
They just couldn't see themselves losing against such a mediocre academy no matter how talented its current batch is.
The Colzen representatives understood that the Amarantha representatives were sincerely looking down on them, thus, they had no plans to respect the bastards as they did not deserve respect.
At that moment, time seemed to slow down to a crawl for Shye and the others.
The Amarantha representatives were just too infuriating and they couldn't wait to teach them a lesson.
Being a perennial contender on the championship stage, Amarantha Academy had the responsibility of selecting and presenting their representative first, allowing the Colzen representatives to choose a fitting representative in response.
A slight advantage given to the underdogs.
They didn't think too hard though and nonchalantly sent their hotheaded representative, Ryden Thunderclap.
Naturally, such a guy wouldn't have good manners.
Immediately upon landing on the stage, Ryden drew his mid-grade opal-enchanted Tachi prompting purple sparks to emerge as a purple lightning snake coiled around the blades of his weapon, looking extremely menacing.
He then looked at the Colzen representatives with an arrogant smirk on his face and said in a loud voice:
"Come on, just pick anyone. It wouldn't matter anyway. Lowlives like you guys are bound to lose to the true elites so stop posturing and just let me expose you frauds."
The Amarantha representatives seemed way too talented at pissing people off as even Siegfried couldn't help but slightly gnash his teeth, fed up with the bullshit coming out of the Amarantha representatives' mouths.
"Let me handle this"
Siegfried said as he unhesitatingly jumped up the stage, grabbed the handle of his tachi, and gracefully pulled it out of its customized sheath.
As the tachi moved through the air, a purple slash mark lasted in the air for a few seconds, temporarily devouring the air that surrounded it before slowly dissipating into nothingness.
Naturally, the lingering slash mark immediately revealed the element of the low-grade relic.
People couldn't help but stare at him dumbfoundedly, wondering how the hell could a student from a mediocre academy procure low-grade void enchantment gemstones.
