'This showoff!'
Harper gnashed his teeth as he clumsily blocked an attack from the Eusford Kobold General.
He hated the fact that Shye's aggressive fighting style was garnering more attention.
Although he knew deep inside his heart that what he was doing was boring, he felt annoyed that he, the supposedly main character, had become a side character.
'No matter, once his buff runs out and he gets slashed in half, then I will get the last laugh. I'll make sure to rub premium quality salt in his wounds...'
Consoling himself with the idea of winning in the end, Harper carried on, trying to hold on for as long as he could.
Meanwhile, Shye nimbly dodged most of the Kobold General's attacks, only clashing when necessary.
Whenever the Kobold General does an attack pattern he already knew, Shye would always avoid the strike with mind-boggling precision before counterattacking with a slash of his own.
Since he was way stronger now compared to when he was fighting the blind kobold general, Shye's attacks were doing way more damage, his blade digging way deeper into the flesh of the monstrous creature with every hack, slash, and stab, making the kobold general howl in pain.
However, the damage sustained by the Colzen Kobold General was far from enough to take it out.
To make things worse, his buffs from Wendy already timed out.
'That guy's buffs probably timed out as well so we are in the same position. Now, it's up to who's better...'
Shye thought, slightly licking his lips in excitement.
He didn't know when but he somehow started to enjoy high-intensity, high-stakes matches like this one, especially when lots of people were watching.
Clenching the grip of his Nightbringer tightly, Shye advanced.
He then tried to avoid the blows once again but he wasn't able to do it smoothly this time and there were a few moments when he almost got killed by the Colzen Kobold General, prompting the Colzen crowd to stand up in anxiety.
As Shye struggled to stabilize his footing, the monstrous kobold swung its glaive horizontally, aiming to cleanly decapitate him.
'F*CK! F*CK! F*CK! This bastard still has a trump card?!' Harper inwardly raged.
He was already at his wits' end.
Not only was he running out of defensive skills to use, but he was also running out of stamina due to constant dodging.
Realizing that Shye could still keep up with the Colzen Kobold General, Harper knew that he would lose if he still held back.
'I was planning to use this in the finals but I guess I have to show off now! It's my turn!'
With a confident smirk on his face, Harper faced the incoming attack from the Eusford Kobold General.
Then, just when the glaive of the Kobold General was about to hit Harper, a giant glowing golden Shield appeared in front of Harper, moving in accordance with how he moved his shield.
Shockingly, the Kobold General's attack couldn't even make the shield budge.
Although it was unknown how long the golden shield would last, Harper could be considered invincible while it was still active.
Only, his grand trump card reveal seemed...a little lackluster.
Compared to the thunderous cheers for Shye's trump card, only a few thousand people cheered their lungs out for Harper's [Golden Fort Lv.3 (Rare)].
Naturally, hearing such dull cheers made Harper feel irritated and...a bit mortified.
'Why?! Why are the cheers for him louder than mine?! He's just a lowlife! Nothing but a lowlife!!!'
Although infuriated, Harper didn't dare fight like Shye.
All he did was play turtle behind his golden shield and naturally, such a boring display wouldn't garner too much attention, especially when compared to Shye who was like a warlord, courageously clashing head-on against the massive kobold.
Everyone loved heroes and even though he was losing, he looked way more heroic compared to Harper.
It wasn't even close.
