Meanwhile, the middle-aged man who was watching from afar couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Just a few moments ago, it seemed that the Colzen convoy's chances of surviving the ambush were bleak, however, due to the unexpected strength of their deans along with the brilliant teamwork and excellent individual skills of the Colzen representatives, the situation suddenly turned around—though, most of the fault was due to the old goat playing around.
Still, the middle-aged man standing atop a cliff was impressed.
'F*ck...do they seriously not need my help? Haah...better make a move now or lose this once-in-a-lifetime chance...'
Shortly after, the middle-aged man disappeared.
Not knowing anything except that they were in a dangerous situation, Shye ferociously held his ground against Bakko, suffering shallow cuts here and there but was ultimately able to block all of the old goat's lethal attacks.
"JUST! F*CKING! DIE! ALREADY!" Bakko cursed as he grew increasingly frustrated because despite going all out, he couldn't instantly dispatch Shye.
Luckily for the old goat, Shye's [Stoic Lv.4] timed out, hence, on their next clash Shye was sent sliding back—struggling to stabilize his footing.
Bakko, desperate to end Shye, would never allow even the smallest of openings such as this one to go to waste.
As he charged towards Shye, Bakko kicked up a cloud of dust, his dagger emitting low screeches and glowing scarlet before leaving a mesmerizing slash mark in the air as it aimed straight for Shye's neck.
*CLANG*
Luckily, Shye was able to cross both greatswords in front of him on time, allowing him to block the old goat's vicious blow, however, the skill-empowered blow was too much for a youngster like Shye to handle.
Hence, he was not only blown further back but one of his greatswords also escaped his hands, spinning a few times before landing on the ground a few meters away from him.
"DIE! LITTLE RAT!" exclaimed Bakko—his next attack, a vicious stab to the forehead—already on its way.
"Big Brother!!"
"Shye!!"
Without explaining his actions, the middle-aged man simply proceeded to subdue Bakko and the other three assassins who tried to resist but were overpowered as though the middle-aged man was a full-grown adult while they were nothing but five year-old kids.
Regarding the final assassin, Dean Snowcrest appeared to handle the situation without requiring any assistance, so the middle-aged man patiently waited a few seconds for him to defeat the remaining opponent.
Subsequently, once all the assassins were tied up and unconscious, the two deans approached the middle-aged man.
"Sir, we want to convey our deepest gratitude to you for your timely assistance," Dean Privett said, bowing, with Dean Snowcrest, the instructors, and the seven representatives promptly following suit.
"No worries, I have my own motives for helping all of you" replied the middle-aged man honestly.
Realizing something, Dean Snowcrest stepped forward.
"May we know our honorable benefactor's name?" the dean asked.
In response, the middle-aged man simply chuckled.
He then scanned the Colzen representatives with his gaze, pausing briefly on Shye before redirecting his attention to the dean in front of him.
"Well, I guess I haven't made many public appearances over the years so your inquiry is understandable."
"I'm known as Soaring Raven, Guild Master of Raven's Blade Adventurer Guild. As for my motives, I believe you already have an inkling," Soaring Raven replied, turning his head slowly to glance at Shye, subtly signaling to the deans which representative he was interested in recruiting.
Instinctively, Shye recalled the adventurer guild, its distinctive headquarters in Valenzia was deeply etched in his memory.
