"Hey, look! Axel, Kai, and Vera! A few emeralds are here to watch!"
"Holy crap! Aren't these rookies too lucky?"
"If they manage to impress even one of these three, their future within the branch would basically be secured!"
Just when the overly enthusiastic guildsman finished collecting the bets from both participants for safekeeping, three individuals descended the stairs, stirring yet another commotion among the onlookers.
Naturally, Shye and Farhann were also compelled to turn their heads to glance at the three seemingly "big shot" adventurers.
'Hmm...One warrior, one scout, and one priestess huh?' Shye mused as he momentarily gazed at the three emerald-ranked adventurers.
Based on what Seira shared during their conversation, there existed a distinct lounge for the branch's elite members on the second floor, accessible only to those authorized by the guild master.
There appeared to be no explicit requirement that individuals must hold an emerald rank to qualify. In the past, there were instances where ruby-ranked adventurers gained access to the special lounge.
However, it has long become an unwritten rule that one should at least be of emerald rank to not be looked down upon by others in that very same lounge.
Hence, during the past decade, talented ruby-ranked adventurers only accepted the lounge badge but refrained from entering until they rank up to emerald.
Every time a particular adventurer ascended to the guild's second floor, people would follow the individual with envious yet respectful gazes, and their name would echo proudly throughout the entire branch, becoming a hot topic amongst the guildsmen.
Naturally, once those "ascended individuals" descend to mundane facilities such as the training hall, they would undoubtedly attract attention.
As for Shye, not once did he believe that these emerald-ranked adventurers genuinely cared about the duel between two rookies. He surmised that the three individuals were either vying for the guildsmen's attention or attempting to recruit the victor into their ranks.
Well, as long as they do not cause any inconveniences to him, he couldn't care less whether they watch or not.
"Heh, what are you looking at the emeralds for? There is literally no chance for you to win so why worry whether you can impress them or not?"
In reality, Farhann anticipated Shye to come up with various excuses to evade a confrontation, given that a mage is inherently at a disadvantage against a shortbow user.
Therefore, when Shye proposed a bet, Farhann felt an overwhelming sense of joy.
He was so sure that he could win and currently, he was indeed winning—easily.
Every time Shye attempted to cast a spell, Farhann effectively disrupted it with either a normal arrow or a skill with a low cooldown.
There seemed to be nothing Shye could do to touch the arrogant redhead.
"Heh, Seira, look at the rookie you are calling "boss". Is this what you call invincible? He's getting toyed with!"
"Hahaha! The fraud finally got exposed!"
"Ha! Who are you calling an obsolete hermit? Look, isn't my prediction correct?" Stay connected with m-vl_emp,yr
Observing how effortlessly Farhann suppressed Shye, consistently interrupting his spellcasting, the onlookers who were forced to restrain their hate for Shye, unleashed their pent-up feelings, mercilessly ridiculing him as if he had already been defeated.
Naturally, Seira was infuriated, however, at the same time, she also felt excited.
No one but her know Shye's true strength and it was pretty obvious that her boss was fooling around, considering how he was "chanting" and sh*t.
Oh, how she wishes to witness their shocked expressions when her Boss Big Brother, reveals his true prowess to everyone.
"Pfft! Hahahahaha! You sure can talk. Is this it? Is this the so-called notorious rookie?! You're nothing special at all!" Farhann insulted with a condescending smile.
With how arrogant Shye had been, he thought that he would have a harder time.
'Heh, looks like everyone wants me to lose...Unfortunately for you guys, such a thing will never happen. Me? Lose to this idiot? Fat chance!'
