"Hundred-arm Barrage!!"
Farhann's partly desperate voice echoed across the training hall as 98 indigo arms the size of a human spread out neatly in a circle behind him.
Simultaneously, an enormous magic circle appeared in front of Farhann, prompting Shye's brows to slightly furrow, however, the confident smile on his face remained steadfast.
He would try to fight it head-on but if his skills would prove inferior, he could just dodge around like a nimble rat.
At worst, he would have to unveil that he was a warrior as well.
Shye hoped it wouldn't get to that point though as it would be unwise to reveal all of his trump cards for a mere 35,000 silver coin duel.
Right as Shye's spell, the rock bullets, were on the brink of striking Farhann's slender frame, a fierce onslaught of fifty mana arrows per second burst forth from the colossal magic circle, ruthlessly piercing through the air and trailing purple lightning in its wake.
At the same time, the 98 indigo arms copied Farhann's motion of holding the bow and pulling on the bowstrings, making Farhann appear as though he was some sort of archery deity.
Unfortunately for him, even if his mana arrows fired at a rate of 100 arrows per second, Shye wouldn't back down from such regular-looking arrows.
It was obvious that Farhann's skill relied on quantity, not quality unlike Kiin's ultimate skill, hence, Shye didn't feel threatened even though the skill appeared overwhelming.
In his eyes, Farhann was nothing but a fraud!
What is the best way to deal with frauds?
Expose them, of course!
Aiming both elemental staffs towards his opponent who was also channeling a so-called "trump card", Shye inwardly exclaimed:
'Fire Bomb Assault!'
Frozen Thorn Barrage!'
Shortly after, chaos ensued as medium-sized flaming orbs and glacial thorns materialized in front of Shye's staff, firing at a rate of three to four projectiles per second.
The fire bombs increased the surrounding air temperature, while the frozen thorns had the opposite effect, causing nearby projectiles to generate white mist as they interacted.
[Congratulations! You've earned 2392 points!]
Shye was elated that his plan of repeatedly extracting points worked, but Farhann's unknown fate dampened his mood.
Although the bastard was indeed annoying, he didn't want to kill people willy-nilly even if there wouldn't be any repercussions for him.
He could only hope that Farhann had a sliver of life force left in him.
Emerald-ranked Vera didn't hesitate and swiftly deactivated her bluish-transparent barrier, not noticing the severe cracks it suffered from Shye's ferocious projectile barrage.
The clear bluish dome wasn't any random barrier in her arsenal and was in fact, one of her three best self-preservation skills.
Had she noticed the massive damage it suffered, she would have looked at Shye in a new light—not as a rookie, but probably as an equal.
Farhann's current situation demanded Vera's immediate attention so her not detecting the anomaly in her barrier was understandable.
Moreover, it was better for Shye this way.
Braving the white mist, Vera looked for Farhann's body, quickly casting three healing spells after locating him: [High Heal Lv.4], [Natural Recovery Lv.4], and [Restore Lv.4].
She went a bit over the top to ensure Farhann's safety.
"He's unharmed. Excellent restraint, Crowley," Vera calmly declared, offering a slight bow to Shye as she acknowledged his assistance in easing her task.
Guild Master Corvus told her to keep everyone safe during the rookie duel. If anyone got hurt while she was watching, the guild master might reprimand her.
Luckily, the so-called notorious and arrogant rookie turned out to be a rather...nice guy.
Hearing that Farhann was fine, Shye breathed a sigh of relief before walking towards the overly enthusiastic guildsman named Bravo.
He then claimed his winnings before sauntering towards the stairs, ascending as he counted his winnings with a smile.
"Ha! HAHAHAHAHA! Didn't I tell all of you? My boss is invincible! NYAHAHAHA! Where are the haters?!
I can't hear you!"
