Seira Ramah, a platinum-ranked warrior, was by no means weak.
Although she was mostly being "carried" by Shye right now, she was always the one doing most of the work in a platinum adventurer party of five or six.
In fact, Shye would rank her to be as strong as the Freia Academy representative students.
Well, considering that she was already a few years into professional adventuring, it wasn't exactly impressive as well.
Still, to reach such a level of strength without attending academies or having any substantial background was an impressive accomplishment in its own right.
Her strength and skills were obtained solely through sheer hard work and unwavering determination.
This is also the reason why Shye thought that she was a party member worth partying with.
He was sure that with a little help, Seira's talents would flourish.
Having a few reliable allies in the future would inevitably be a huge boon.
After all, if he wanted to reach the top, he would certainly need help from a few reliable allies.
If he allowed himself to become a lone wolf simply because a few random adventurers betrayed him, he would only make things infinitely harder for himself.
"HAAAAGH!! Take this! And this!" Seira exclaimed with a fierce tone, her arms working nonstop as she ferociously hacked and slashed at the goblins akin to a valiant Valkyrie.
Although she wasn't able to kill the weaker goblins in a single hit like Shye, most of them died within two or three hits, green blood splattering on the ground with every creature slain.
What made the two of them gnash their teeth in frustration was, the goblin kept on screeching in gibberish, seemingly calling for reinforcements.
This fact naturally made Shye and Seira uneasy as the (C) ranked Goblin Elites already made things very difficult for them, always lunging at the two of them at the most opportune of times.
Witnessing the spine-chilling fate of their kin, the three remaining goblin elites couldn't help but step a few steps back—panic evident on their faces.
Just when the frightened monstrous creatures were about to flee, a high-pitched, raspy roar reverberated from behind a dense patch of thicket, followed by numerous grating cackles.
Hearing how numerous the goblin reinforcements were, Shye's brows furrowed, his eyes—glaring fiercely at the newly arrived monstrous opposition.
As for Seira, she reacted way less calmly than Shye.
Her breathing became labored, her heart racing wildly as a small voice inside her urged her to surrender.
Well, it was understandable why her disposition didn't look so good compared to Shye.
Men would simply be killed while she, a young woman with a well-maintained physique, would suffer a fate worse than death.
How could she stay calm when there were around a hundred and fifty goblins of various sizes surrounding them?
Out of the 153 goblins, there were 110 goblins ranked (D) and below, 35 (C) ranked Goblin elites, six unidentified goblins that seemed to be a wee bit stronger than the elites, and two human-sized ones standing at the back of the small goblin army.
One of the two held a huge greatsword while the other one held a wooden staff with a red gem embedded on top, looking extremely mighty and menacing compared to their underlings.
Shye was sure that these two were the leaders of the goblin village.
'What the f*ck! Aren't we a bit underpaid here?! One (B-) ranked Goblin Chieftain already posed a problem and now, you're telling me there's this other scholarly shithead?!' He inwardly complained. 'A quest of this difficulty should be of (B) rank, no? I'm definitely going to complain once we get back!'
If others knew what he was thinking, they would be utterly stupefied.
The fact he believed he would survive such a daunting army of goblins was rather...impressive.
After a few more moments, the goblins carefully advanced, slowly encircling them.
"Seira! Keep close and face them with me! If they manage to get behind us, we're in trouble!"
