"W-What just happened folks? Why was Percy Phone transported out of the stage? Did the blue dome malfunction?! What a blunder!" Corey's confused and disappointed voice once again sounded, making everyone feel the exact same emotions in their hearts.
The duel was right in the middle of its...intense climax.
Hence, the audience would naturally be disappointed if it was disrupted due to a system malfunction.
Even Shye felt the same.
Well, what could he do? For now, he decided just to descend the stage and wait for the event organizers' decision.
Unfortunately, someone had other plans.
Promptly after Shye stepped out of the stage, a furious voice sounded from behind him.
"CROWLEY!! YOU DESTROYED EVERYTHING I WORKED HARD FOR!! I'LL KILL YOU!! RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!!"
Subconsciously turning around, Shye saw Percy's angry face, zooming in as the guy madly bolted towards him, brandishing his tachi with vicious intent.
"P-Percy Phone has gone insane! Organizers!" Corey shouted in an anxious tone, causing four men, who were standing on their designated corners, to charge toward Percy in hopes of stopping him.
Should he successfully strike Shye, the consequences would be dire as the two of them were no longer inside the blue dome.
A death here would be permanent.
Shye, upon witnessing Percy's furious rush, merely sneered in disdain.
'Fine then, since you're not convinced that you're no match for me, then I'll change your mind.'
Fully turning around, Shye himself charged towards Percy.
'Fake out!'
"TIMEKEEPER'S FORTRESS!!"
In the next instant, the hearts of Corey, the Balkrow Arena staff, and the Raven's Blade event organizers, almost stopped beating in anxiousness.
Well, who could blame them when all four arena guards were frozen in time, along with Shye Crowley, whose neck was utterly exposed?
Corey's words naturally stirred up a huge commotion amongst the crowd.
After all, his words meant that Shye Crowley won fair and square, and would be crowned as Raven's Blade's Rookie Representative.
Only, if the explanation that Percy died inside the dome was true, then how?
From their perspective, the man simply turned into an azure ray of light.
Shye Crowley didn't even attack him.
Well, technically, they were wrong as Shye did attack him that time: verbally.
"MHHHRMM! Well then, I shall now explain the cause of Percy Phone's death. As per the licensed operator of the Blue Dome, Percy's cause of death was...e...emotional damage. Right before contestant Percy's death, his blood pressure rose to unprecedented levels, specifically, after contestant Crowley...called contestant Percy...an idiot.
As a result, his mind suffered from mild aneurysm while his heart: from heart failure."
The explanation was so absurd the people remained stupefied for ten good seconds, unable to make sense of what just happened.
However, after a while, their brains automatically translated what happened in simpler terms: Percy Phone...was angered to death.
After a while, a loud yet refreshing laugh echoed across the arena.
"PFFT!! HAHAHAHAHAHA Boss! You've finally, officially angered someone to death!"
Hearing Seira's outburst, almost everyone followed suit, drowning the entire arena in an ocean of laughter.
Luckily for Percy, he was currently unconscious, utterly oblivious to what was happening.
For a poser like him, being laughed at after dying due to such a stupid reason would be worse than death, and so...he might actually die in anger and humiliation.
Once the laughter died down, Corey left the commentator's desk and once again ascended the stage, this time with a wide, celebratory smile on his face.
"Ladies and gentlemen! The Raven's Blade qualifiers have been a wild ride! However, in the end, only one rookie would obtain the representative spot. After taking down fearsome opponents with unmatched ease, one after the other, this man cemented himself as the best. Everyone, please give a round of applause to our Raven's Blade rookie representative, Shye Crowley!!"
[Congratulations! You've earned 29,991 points!]
With a satisfied smile, Shye bowed towards the crowd before proceeding to exit the arena.
Seeing his actions, Seira hurriedly followed him, not forgetting to hurl one last insult to the annoying middle-aged men who ganged up on her...in doubting Shye, of course...
