Hearing the sudden explanation from a random person in the crowd, everyone’s shocked and confused expression suddenly turned into one of utter disbelief.
’You mean the bastard wasn’t even serious when fighting John Oni?’ was the thought that resonated in their minds.
Right at that moment, everyone’s questions regarding Shye’s mastery in melee combat and his ridiculous raw strength were answered.
It was because he was originally a warrior.
Understandably, the astonishing truth proved too challenging for the audience to grasp quickly.
Thus, many of them simply stared at Shye in stupefaction, mouths agape, trying to follow his actions with bewildered expressions.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Now, do you all see my boss’ invincibility?! Why would I be worried about some John Baloney when I know that my boss is originally a warrior?! Why should I be worried about him fighting someone in close range?!" Seira’s loud and annoying-for-some voice once again sounded, carrying an obvious triumphant undertone.
This time, no one dared talk back to her. After all, Shye’s display of talent and capabilities was truly too bright.
If it was true that he was even stronger as a warrior than as a mage, then Arthur Vermillion’s talent was indeed lesser than that of Shye Crowley’s.
They couldn’t even be mentioned in the same category in terms of talent. Of course, Shye had to prove himself as a warrior first.
Having two classes was amazing but it didn’t mean jack sh*t if he couldn’t back his grand revelation up.
Meanwhile, onstage, despite his calm exterior, raging waves of various emotions assaulted Arthur’s heart.
He had a hunch that Shye had a subclass, only, he didn’t expect his speculations to be true.
To make things worse, the bastard’s mage class was revealed to be the subclass, while his primary class, the warrior class, was the one he concealed.
Such deep-seethed self-confidence...
Arthur couldn’t help but inwardly shiver. He wouldn’t dare toy with his chances of winning an entire tournament the way Shye did.
’Hmmph, so what if he’s a warrior? My vermillion flames will burn him AND his greatswords to ashes!’
’Enhanced Agility! Enhanced Strength! Enhanced Dexterity! Vermillion Inferno!!’
Unknowingly pressured, the Iron Jin rookie used every useful skill he had in his arsenal. He didn’t want to lose. He would never lose!
His clan had produced more than three hundred adamantite-tier adventurers throughout their hundred-fifty-year existence.
There was no way that he, the next in line to lead such a prominent clan, would lose to random nobodies with no background like this Shye Crowley!
Unfortunately, no matter how many times he tried, the results remained the same.
The only thing that was thinning was...Shye’s patience.
’Where the fuck are my points?! Look! I’m beating your famous Arthur Vermicelli like this! Aren’t you all amazed?!’ Shye inwardly cursed.
His opponent now looked disheveled and battered, yet, with almost empty eyes, the guy kept on charging.
’Fine then, I shall reveal two more skills for you guys...so you better give me points!!’
As Arthur struggled to stand up for another round of beating, a ghastly howl resembling those of ancient demons echoed across the entire arena, sending chills down the audience’s spine.
The howl was then followed by the emergence of a pair of transparent-black rotten mana wings on Shye’s back, making him appear unholy.
Arthur didn’t know why but after hearing the howl, he had the sudden urge to flee, however, how could he do that?
He was the heir of the Vermillion Clan. He would never retreat from someone like this hateful Shye Crowley!
Unfortunately, his unique-tier skills already timed out.
There was simply no more chance for him to win. On the other hand, Shye was now stronger than he was earlier after receiving the boosts from his fallen skills.
With a single flap of his wings, he grabbed Arthur’s head and slammed it hard on the ground, turning the Iron Jin representative into an azure ray of light that materialized outside the stage shortly after—all in one swift motion.
"S-S-SHYE CROWLEY!! SHYEEE!! SH-SHYEEE CROWLEY!!" Corey exclaimed with a trembling voice, his mind going blank as he witnessed the unbelievably one-sided match.
"I-I APOLOGIZE FOR MY EARLIER INACTIVITY, FOLKS! I WAS SIMPLY FLABBERGASTED BY WHAT JUST HAPPENED. I TRULY BELIEVED THIS MATCH WOULD BE CLOSE, HOWEVER, WHO WOULD’VE THOUGHT THAT SHYE CROWLEY WAS STILL HOLDING BACK!! WHAT A REVELATION!! SHYE CROWLEY WAS A WARRIOR ALL ALONG!! THE CHANTLESS MAGE PERSONA WAS NOTHING BUT HIS SUBCLASS!!
WHO?! WHO WOULD DARE SAY THEY COULD MATCH SUCH A PEERLESS GENIUS?! BALKROW CITY IS IN GOOD HANDS FOR THIS YEAR’S VALENZIA ROOKIE ADVENTURER COMPETITION!! FINALLY, OUR BELOVED CITY’S NAME SHALL REVERBERATE ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION!!"
Hearing Corey’s words, the stupefied crowd finally erupted into cheers. Even the Arthur Vermillion and John Oni supporters couldn’t help but cheer wildly.
In the end, they were from the same city. Just thinking about how their city would be represented by such an absurdly powerful rookie, the Balkrow City crowd couldn’t help but shiver in excitement.
