'It's better to hide my abilities for now and try to observe the monster from a distance for a while...'
After deciding on the best course of action to take, Shye once again shifted his focus back to the False Gorgon.

'Hoh? This thing is indeed stronger than regular (B) ranked monsters. Its attributes are approaching those of the weaker (A) ranked creatures already...' Shye pondered after seeing the False Gorgon's status window.
Although he could roughly determine its battle style based on its skills, which he didn't see as a major issue, Shye knew better than to underestimate the creature.
The prey...had already escaped.
Furious, the False Gorgon hissed one last time before returning to its lair in an evidently bad mood.
Little did it know, it would be staying at the same area as its prey as Shye simply hid behind a nearby rock, and sneaked back in right after the Gorgon exited the lair to pursue him.
He then swiftly assembled the item he obtained as a reward from City Lord Felix, the Small Camouflage Camp, at a corner where he could see everything going on inside the lair.
Luckily, he practiced assembling it over and over in his free time, allowing him to barely set it up before the False Gorgon returned.
Consequently, while the monstrous creature raged inside its home, someone was already setting up his sleeping bags and lighting a small campfire at some random corner.
Since Shirley already completed her Thunderblight Toad quest, and she wasn't among the petrified victims of the half-baked Gorgon, the only lead he could think of was the people supporting the Gorgon.
Hence, he planned to wait for them to visit the monstrous creature before following them back to their hideout or capturing them for interrogation.
This was his best course of action at present.
If, by some chance, Shirley wasn't actually in danger and had already returned to the guild, then he would prefer it that way, even though it would mean wasted efforts.
As long as she was safe...
...The camp was set up in plain view, yet, as per its explained effects, the Gorgon couldn't see it at all.
As a result, Shye could simply peer out of a small portion of the camouflage camp to check what was happening outside anytime he wanted.
Unfortunately for him, nothing happened in the next two days as the Gorgon simply lazed around its lair while consuming the petrified adventurers from time to time.
It was a pretty harrowing sight.
However, Shye gave no f*cks as he wasn't related to the petrified adventurers at all.
Soon, the chilling darkness of the night once again consumed the world.
'Sigh...better sleep now so I can wake up early tomorrow...' Shye thought as he nestled himself inside his cozy sleeping bag.
But then, just when he was about to fall asleep...
