As guns entered the picture, the previous plan was thrown out of the window. As the opponents might have replicated firearms from his broken weapon model, he assumed that he would get shot a few times during the upcoming raid.
Felix recalculated the risks involved. Testing his theory, he created a regular rifle and a bullet. Then, he tested its firepower by pointing its muzzle at his left arm and pulling the trigger.
*BANG*
The bullet pierced into his flesh for half an inch, but it failed to puncture through his muscle fibers. Blood trickled from his wound.
Felix pulled the bullet head from the wound and scratched his arm. It hurt, but it wasn't as painful as he thought.
"B-Benefactor, what did you…" The elder priestess was stunned and confused as to why Felix hurt himself. She was also surprised by his weapon, which looked similar to what the Swan House's men were using.
Felix brought out a lesser potion and sipped it. The wound instantly healed. He then stood up and browsed the system shop, searching for a bulletproof vest, a military helmet, a jewel guard, and some leg guards.
Paying with a million mana, Felix got the basic equipment. He put them on and stomped out of the church.
Coincidentally, as soon as Felix stepped outside, Diana returned. She saw Felix in a modern armor similar to hers and grinned. She read his expressions and responded.
"I've cleaned up my own mess. So, what do we do next?"
Felix snorted, "We pick a fight with a local lord. They have guns, though. You're going to get shot during fights."
Diana brought out the emergency beacon ball that Felix had entrusted her, "Should I use this?"
Felix paused for a moment. Recalling the previous incident when he fought the megalith dragon, he had an idea.
"Good. We'll use that to open a path. Let's go." Felix then turned back to call the priestess elder over, "Can you lead us to the manor? We need a guide!"
The priestess rushed out and brightly smiled, "Are you going to rescue our sisters?"
"Yeah, we'll ransack that place."
As soon as everybody heard that Felix was about to go help their comrades, the injured paladins got up and volunteered, "We'll help!"
"No need."
Felix snorted and ejected his lovely Sherman out of his inventory. The WWII tank landed in the front yard of the church, causing a loud noise. Explore more at m,v l'e-NovelFire
The female paladins shrunk back in shock. The elder also gasped, mistaking it as a metal golem.
As for Diana, she had already snooped Felix's items in his inventory. She was only slightly surprised to see the toy in action.
Felix climbed into the tank and informed Diana, "Follow this vehicle. As for you…" Felix pointed at the elder, "Guide us."
The elder priestess gulped and nodded. She walked with long strides, leading the two toward the luxurious street, which would lead them to a fortress palace and the manor of the city lord.
…
*RUMBLE*
A caravan of a tank, led by the elder priestess, marched along the main street. Diana followed closely behind the tank while the injured team of paladins followed them from a distance, hoping to provide support if necessary.
The tank tracks grounded the stone street while it let out a long hum, attracting the attention of rescued civilians. They peeked outside their houses to look at the commotion and saw a weird-looking tank and a giant Lamia.
As soon as they spotted the monster girl, they shuddered in fear and hid, afraid of making eye contact with the woman. The parade turned into a show of might and a warning to the civilians about the chaos to come.
However, their march couldn't be as peaceful. As it had been a while since Diana had wrecked the town, mages and aura knights from the Swan House's fortress managed to regroup and assemble in front of their lord's manor. They mobilized a group of 200 men, who created an elevated blockade on the road and erected an earth barrier.
Mages formed an array behind the earth barricade while aura knights stood in front. Each wielded magic swords, lances, and shields, ready for close-quarter combat.
As for mages, they carried their new long-tube weapons, pointing the muzzles at the elder priestess and the metal vehicle behind her.
One of the mages stepped forward and shouted at the elder priestess. Sёarch* The novel(F~)ire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
"Stop right there, you hypocrite cultists! The town is under the jurisdiction of Lord Brag Swan! Your kind don't belong here. Surrender to us obediently and hand over the remaining cultists. Then, we'll spare your sorry life!"
The elder priestess shrank back as she was no match against the entire platoon of elites. She turned around and looked at the tank.
Felix popped out a driver's lid and peeked out. He gestured to the priestess, "Thanks for your hard work. I'll take it from here."
The elder nodded and ran back to the team of paladins, who shielded her and observed the situation 200 meters away.
Diana peeked from behind the tank, looking at the troops in front. She raised the beacon and asked Felix, "Can I use it now?"
Felix shook his head and got back inside the tank. He ordered, "Keep it until a strong-looking guy shows up. Do not use it on these cannon fodders."
"Okay!"
Diana put the beacon away and continued lurking behind the tank, allowing Felix to show off.
Meanwhile, Felix navigated the tank turret, pointing at the center of the crowd. He warned them through a speaker.
"I don't know who you are, where you're from, and what you're here for. But know this, I'm a crazy bastard who loves nothing more but pressing a few buttons and shooting guns. If you don't drop your weapons and surrender unconditionally, none of you will leave this place in one piece!"
The aura knights and the mages raised their eyebrows. Although Felix's demand was uncalled for, they didn't look down on him. After all, they had witnessed what the monster behind the tank could do.
Mistaking the tank as a golem, the mage leader ordered his people, "Use anti-summon spells! Dispel that golem back to the soil and focus our firepower on that Lamia behind the golem!"
The mage team began chanting and gathering mana. A hundred magic circles manifested around the tank and flashed, attempting to erase whatever magic spells that sustained the tank.
*CLANK*
All spell circles shattered upon activation!
The mages widened their eyes in confusion for a second. The next moment, everybody who had cast a spell faltered, clenching their chest and coughing. Blood trickled from their nostrils and eyes as the backlash of interrupted spells hit the casters.
The other unaffected mages turned to their injured comrades in shock. They quickly regained their senses and raised their rifles, pointing at the tank and pulling the triggers.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
A dozen round bullets flew out of their makeshift muskets and hit the invisible wall in front of the tank. All projectiles were suspended in the air for two seconds and fell to the street.
"W-What?!" The mages gasped in shock. They couldn't sense any spell or magic from the tank, but they could tell that an invisible barrier was on the way.
The aura knights noticed that the mages were useless. They gathered their aura in their weapons and charged out.
At that moment, the giant cannon turret spat fire.
*BOOM!*
An explosive shell hit directly on the center of the barricade, where the mages gathered behind. Upon contacting the road, the shell exploded, sending a large ball of fire to the sky and shredding nearby humans.
Body pieces scattered and the flame spread, catching everybody within 10 meters on fire!
The aura knights stumbled because of the sudden shockwave from the explosion. They looked behind them and saw the horrifying scene.
Some mages missed a few limbs. Some retained their heads and limbs, but their torso missed a large chunk of flesh. Some lost the lower parts of their bodies while the mages at the back screamed, running around as their robes were on fire.
*WRRRRR*
After the explosion, the unmanned machine gun on top of the Sherman Turret warmed up, rotating its canisters. It pointed at the confused aura knights at the forefront.
A second later, it also spat yellowish needles and roared.
*TATATATATATA*
Knights in shining armor all fell backward upon impact. Their proud magic armor and their protective barriers from the mages behind them shredded like stretched toilet papers in the middle of a heavy rain. Blood scattered, innards flew, brain tissues splattered, and human flesh painted the street in red.
The symphony of destruction stopped after a minute. A hundred proud aura knights no longer existed. Only some pieces of human remains were scattered on the field.
The tank ignored all corpses and hummed, moving forward. Meanwhile, five mechanical arms emerged from the surface of the turret, changing the cartridge and getting the weapon ready for another salvo.
A dozen surviving mages at the back of the formation managed to extinguish the fire. But after witnessing the sudden display of destructive forces, their legs turned into jelly. They fell on their butts, wetting the floor with their bodily fluid.
Meanwhile, Diana whistled. She had expected a power play from Felix, but this tank's hi-tech energy shield and automatic heavy machine gun were out of this world. She wondered if this thing could even kill a dragon or the top magi of this world.
As for Felix, he saw the weak-willed mages in front of the tank through the monitors. He scoffed and continued pressing the acceleration button, driving the tank onward.
Without stopping, the tank's tracks climbed on the barricade and flattened them. The entire vehicle gradually moved forward, squishing the remains of Felix's enemies. Soon, it came in front of the mages, whose legs failed to move.
As if Felix knew what he was doing, he adjusted the path, turning right a little. The tank turned right, steering its track toward the sitting mage.
"N-No. NOOOOO!!"
The tank's left track crushed the man underneath. Like a pancake with strawberry jam within, the body splattered, splashing red flesh and blood on the road.
Felix didn't stop there. He toyed with the remaining survivors, driving the tank toward them.

When Felix was done, he drove forward. The flattened corpse and the track marks on the road left behind a new chapter of history, which the townspeople would remember for another generation.
