Chapter 132 Florida Man Armed His Employees with Job Applications to Repel Potential Looters
Chapter 132 – Florida Man Armed His Employees with Job Applications to Repel Potential Looters
"Isn't this place nice?"
"Yup. Comfortable beds, great cultivation environment, and useful artifacts, I can't ask for more."
Han Hao and Han Meng shared the same room as they were father and son. Although the room was big enough for four people to live, nobody dared to share a room with them as an ex-grand elder and the head disciplinary elder's statuses were still superior to others.
In addition, Han Hao's wife hadn't learned about this place yet. He still had to travel to his wife's hometown and bring them here in the future.
Both elders checked every nook and cranny of their new home as everything was so interesting, especially the electrical appliances.
"Isn't this something alchemists love?" Han Hao opened a modern refrigerator and inhaled cold air.
Han Meng opened a curtain to see the view behind the apartment. Unfortunately, Leo didn't build this apartment like a resort, Han Meng only saw the recycling center, a junkyard, and a lumber yard.
Beyond the recycling center, Han Meng noticed long fences and a large barn. A few thunder unicorns gathered there as the barn was their new home.
Looking at the group of 9th-stage monster beasts, Han Meng wryly smiled, "Nah, I'm not surprised anymore. We're working for a big shot now. Father, I think we will advance to the quasi-immortal stage within 100 years if we keep working under Lord Florida Man. Look at those monster horses! They are obeying Lord Florida Mna's orders!"
Han Hao and Han Meng laughed. They looked forward to working with Leo. For the day, they adjusted their conditions, cultivating whatever Qi they detected in the room.
.
Meanwhile, Tiger Swordsman and Hua Jiashan shared the same room. The former awkwardly knelt on his knees, looking at the sect master.
"I-I thought you wouldn't join us, sect master."
Hua Jiashan stroked his beard. He widely grinned, "Who said I couldn't change my mind?"
"B-But I thought you treasured the sect. Who's going to take care of the sect's facilities?"
Tiger Swordsman thought of the abandoned buildings of the Life Sword Sect. As everybody migrated to Leo's domain, nobody would take care of it anymore. The local townsmen from Magpie City might also be in trouble as they could no longer commission their disciples or elders to help them.
Hua Jiashan saw through Tiger Swordsman's thoughts. He snickered.
"The sect is close-by. We can rotate our people or send some free disciples back there to clean our sect."
"A-And what about our library and treasury?"
"Who's gonna steal that useless library with nothing but common martial art techniques? Everything is in my head. If I want to, I can just write new manuals."
"But the heritage of the sword saint..."
Hua Jiashan burst into laughter. He waved his hand. n0VeLUsb.C0m
WHOOSH
An energy sword manifested and hovered in front of Hua Jiashan. Moreover, it didn't use the sect master's Qi as its primary energy source.
It was an electric energy sword, emitting yellow light. It also had the same aura as yellow tribulation lightning bolts.
"T-This," Tiger Swordsman was astonished.
"The sword saint contacted me a few days ago. He taught me a better version of our sword arts, and he allows me to work for another immortal for the time being. He told me that we could easily restore the Life Sword Sect after we got a lot stronger. For now, we can stop worrying about managing the sect so that we can focus solely on our training."
Tiger Swordsman repeatedly nodded as he agreed. When he was still an elder of the Life Sword Sect, he spent 70% of his time teaching and completing the sect's missions. The rest of his free time was shared between recuperation time and training. This was the reason why his growth rate was slower than the others.
"B-But, sect master, what about the work in this domain? Will Lord Florida Man allow us to train?"
Hua Jiashan laughed again, "Are you stupid? Did you listen to his explanation about the work rules?"
"Erm, rules?"
"We only need to work when the sun is up, and we can rest when the sun goes down. We work five days and get two days off every week. Compared to what I imposed on you lots, this work rule is very lenient and comfortable!"
"...Wow."
Tiger Swordsman finally remembered what Leo had told him when they were inside the pagoda town. He was excited that he luckily secured an easy job with high pay. At this rate, he would swim in essence stones and cultivation resources.
"For now, let's get used to the room's natural pressure and the lightning Qi. Get on your bed and start adjusting your dantian and conditions."
"Yes, sect master!"
Hua Jiashan's smile stiffened. Even though they submitted to Leo, Tiger Swordsman still called him sect master. As Hua Jiashan wished to avoid complications, he corrected Tiger Swordsman.
"Just call me by my name. We're no longer masters and subordinates. We're colleagues now."
"...Ugh, yes, s-senior Hua."
"Still be bit stiff, but, well, fine."
It would take a while before Tiger Swordsman could relax around Hua Jiashan.
.
.
The next day at 4 AM, the sanctuary girls, the sect's disciples, and elders stopped cultivating and gathered in the field, east of the apartment. They waited for Leo to come out and give them instructions.
Unfortunately, Leo did not follow the local's traditions of not sleeping and eating. He still required 6-8 hours of sleep every day even though he could stay awake for months without sleeping if he wanted to.
As a result, some young disciples got bored of waiting. As they had nothing to do, they roamed the farms and the domain's territory, exploring the buildings.
Many disciples gathered around Gao Yan, who was the only disciple that got to live in a small house, next to Wu Buyi's home. They bombarded him with questions.
"Gao Yan, what's it like to work here? What do we have to do?"
"Is Lord Florida Man kind? What did you get from him?"
"Has Lord Florida Man taught you any techniques?"
Gao Yan patiently answered them one at a time. He also glanced at the group of girls, who secretly eavesdropped their conversations.
"So far, the work here is quite simple. We only need to help Senior Florida Man with the farm work. You see the farms in front of the apartment? That's where most of us will be working at."
Gao Yan walked toward the chilies farm and brought out a large crate from his spatial ring. He then showed the people how to collect the crops.
"For example, these chilies are Exploding Reaper Chilies. It's a spice that can be used in alchemy, and it's edible if you cultivate the fire element Qi. We collect the chilies like this..."
Each chili was one foot long and three inches thick. Each plant bore hundreds of red spices, which glowed in the dark.
Gao Yan avoided touching the chilies directly. He cut the stalks with a knife and let the large chilies fall into the wooden crate.
"One crate can store about 40-50 chilies at most, so I usually store about 30ish chilies. Well, you don't have to count it. Just measure the size with your eyes and stop using the same crate when it's half-full. Because we can't touch it, we will play it safe and only store half."
One of the girls got curious. She pushed through the crowd and asked Gao Yan.
"What will happen if we touch the chilies?"
Gao Yan wryly smiled. He showed them by picking one of the chilies with a tong and placing it on the ground, 10 meters away from the farm and the crowd. He turned around and warned them.
"Don't try this, ever."
After giving them a warning, Gao Yan poked the chili with his fingertip. As soon as he touched it, he kicked the ground and leaped away.
The chili instantly swelled. Then, as its name implied, it exploded. A small flame bomb erupted, burning everything within 10 meters black.
Gao Yan licked the tip of his finger to heal the burn wound. Unfortunately, the spiciness of the chili hit his tongue, and the strong smell of wasabi hit his nose. He staggered backward two steps before he regained his bearings.
Coming back to his senses, Gao Yan warned them again.
"There you have it. The explosion is capable enough to kill any nascent soul cultivator, according to Elder Wu's estimation. Unless you have already mastered the fire element, you should avoid working at the chilies farm. I suggest you try the potato farm or the dragon fruit farm over there."
Gao Yan pointed at the array of strange trees, south of the chilies farm. A hundred black trees surrounded a tall white tree at the center. Under the trees, piles of black fruits emanated thick fag of yin Qi.
"W-What is that place?" Asked the girl.
"Dragon Fruit Farm. They're the fruits that the thunder unicorns eat. Oh, Cat also loves that. If you work there, you will run into them a lot."
"Cat? Thunder Unicorns?"
Several disciples, elders, and deacons had already seen Cat and the unicorns, but many hadn't noticed them yet. Those who knew brightly smiled while those who didn't had a dark expression.
Speaking of the devil, Cat heard the call and responded to Gao Yan. Despite being a massive chomper plant, she jumped by using her long roots.
BOOM
Cat landed in the middle of the crowd. She grinned and greeted them.
"Nom-Nom Meow?"
This was her way of greeting and judging the newcomers. Any disrespectful cultivator would usually attack her and got themselves killed. As for those who knew, they simply needed to pay the "Nom-Nom Tax", and Cat would leave them alone.
Xu Nuan, Han Hao, Han Meng, and many people from the Life Sword Sect were aware of this custom. They each ejected a large dead animal from their spatial rings and tossed them to Cat.
The chomper bobbed her head up and down like a cheerful cockatoo, giving them approval. She swallowed the nom-nom taxes and leaped away.
Again, the old customers laughed and smiled while the newcomers looked at the parting monster in shock and fear.
"W-What was that?!"
"I-Isn't that a 7th-stage monster plant?!"
"Are they keeping a monster here?!"
Gao Yan wryly smiled and pointed at the sky. Everybody looked up. Then, they found two thunder unicorns, walking in mid-air and patrolling the area.
"Please get used to the guardians around here. Not only do we have Senior Florida Man's pet, but we also have a hundred of his mounts... 9th-stage monster beast mounts. We will be helping him feed these mounts and his pet every day from now on. This will be our primary job."
"..."
While every youngster and newcomer was shocked, Xu Nuan couldn't stop smiling. As taming was her forte, this place was her paradise.
Unable to stop her excitement, Xu Nuan asked Gao Yan.
"Do you know if I can volunteer to be those beasts' caretaker?"
"Err, are you sure?" Gao Yan was surprised.
"I'm confident in my abilities. Actually, if I work with those unicorns, everybody here won't have to risk their lives interacting with those monsters. Let me take charge of this job!"
Gao Yan and everybody from Life Sword Sect gazed at the elderly lady in awe and respect. As nobody disagreed, they selected Xu Nuan and her disciples to take care of the animals.
.
The talk continued for two hours as Gao Yan continued introducing every place to the women and the new employees.
At 8 AM, Leo finally woke up. He carried a dozen prototype matchlock rifles and came out of his store. He found the large crowd on the farms, harvesting and helping the farming mannequins.
Impressed by their proactive and enthusiasm, Leo couldn't help but smile.
"Wow. They're workaholics, I see."
Leo thought of the lazy youngsters in his home country. Weirdly, a job application was a bane of their existence to the point that it could be used in a certain exorcism.
It was pointless to think about the modern era. Leo walked toward them and clapped his hands.
"Gather up! Let's assign roles and tasks before you start messing around!"
The new farmers stopped what they were doing and gathered in front of the general store. Disciples, who were loitering around the workshop area, ran to the front to join the gathering.
Hua Jiashan, Dongfang Mei, Xu Nuan, Han Hao, Wu Buyi, Gao Yan, Yao Qiqi, and other elders were present. They were ready to learn about their new lifestyle.
Within five minutes, all members were accounted for. Leo began interviewing them and assigning work.
