Flying Dust [Fei Chen]
Chapter 34.1:
The summer passed so quickly in the blink of an eye, Mo Fei Chen lay on his bed, sat cross-legged, poising one foot in the air and said, “Yunfeng, I want to eat the osmanthus cake under the mountain.”
“You just want to go down the mountain for a stroll, right?” He Yunfeng pursed his lips and smiled, “I heard from Qing Yuan that there are some people from the Jing Shui Sect outside the mountain, maybe there are some at the manor too, how did you provoke them?”
At the mention of Jun Wushuang, Mo Fei Chen’s heart shook, he felt no pain but his eyes were a little wet, “When you’re in Jiang Hu, you can’t help but endure the knife. I just didn’t expect that the other side would be so interested in knowing whether I was dead or not.”
He Yunfeng knew that things were not as simple as Mo Fei Chen said it to be, but often there was no need to know too much or in detail. If Mo Fei Chen didn’t want to talk about it, then he would help him to forget about it.
“All right then, let’s ‘dress up (disguise)’ before we go out.” The curve of He Yunfeng’s lips had a mysterious flavour. Mo Fei Chen shouted in his mind, ‘Damn, this guy is seducing me again!’
In the afternoon, He Yunfeng called the disciples to bring in flour, glutinous rice and something else Mo Fei Chen had never heard of. He then mixed up the flour, added some special powder to it and used his inner strength to turn the flatbread into a thin, cicada’s wing (delicate texture)-like face skin.
Mo Fei Chen watched in awe (enthusiastically), “Yunfeng, what are you doing?”
“I’m making a monkey mask.” He Yunfeng’s eyelashes were gently coated with a light yellow colour in the sunlight.
Mo Fei Chen thought to himself, ‘I’ve been in this world for so many years, but I’ve finally seen a disguise (change one’s appearance) technique.’
About one hour later, He Yunfeng turned his body around and nudged Mo Fei Chen, who was already sleeping with his head in his hands, “Wake up, put it on and try it.”
Mo Fei Chen was energized when he heard that the object He Yunfeng was holding had taken the form of eyes, nose and mouth. He closed his eyes as the other man slowly laid the object on his face, carefully adjusting the wrinkle (skin face) at the corners of his eyes, “It’s done.”
He hurriedly went to fetch a basin of water.
Mo Fei Chen looked at it and his eyes narrowed to slits, “It’s really done, I don’t even recognise myself anymore.”
He still had the face of a teenager as before but the contours of his eyes were a little less open and the tip of the nose looked a little flat. He did not look like a young man of 18. He looked more like a 14 or 15 year old boy from the countryside.
He YunFeng also made a face for himself. It couldn’t be helped since he was too charming looking. If he didn’t have something to cover it up, even if only a few people in Jiang Hu knew him, it would be a nuisance to be saluted all the time.
“Let’s go.” He Yunfeng waved at Mo Fei Chen. The two of them went out of the hut in their old clothes.
He Yunfeng took off the wooden sign at the door, which read ‘Do not come to disturb’ and put the plate up whenever he healed Mo Fei Chen with his inner Qi. This was probably the predecessor of the ‘Please do not disturb’ sign in the guesthouse.
The two of them went down the mountain. It had been a long time since Mo Fei Chen had seen a marketplace. There was still an hour to go before dusk, but his physical strength was not good and he could not walk for much longer even if he had more time.
He Yunfeng was very patient, he ust following his lead from behind. If he had taken something from someone, He Yunfeng would just stretch out his arm and hand the stall vendor some money. He looked like a good-natured older brother who had brought his younger brother out.
When the sun really set, Mo Fei Chen put the sugar figurine behind his head and dragged He Yunfeng to a restaurant.
“Waiter, give me a plate of sweet and sour fish, and also a steamer of steamed dumplings … hn… as well as the fresh and tasty vegetables.” Mo Fei Chen glanced at He Yunfeng, he himself preferred meat while He Yunfeng seemed to prefer to eat vegetables.
The food was served, Mo Fei Chen began to wolf down his food. The soup from the steamed dumplings flowed into his mouth, scalding his tongue.
“Slow down, slow down…” He Yunfeng frowned slightly, at this time the little waiter came over to bring a bowl of silver tree-ear fungus and lotus seed soup.
“We don’t seem to have ordered this, so is this a free food from your shop?” Mo Fei Chen thought in his heart, if this stingy restaurant was finally smart enough to improve its service?
“No, no, ” the waiter looked around and pointed to a possessing natural grace or an elegant figure outside the window and said, “That’s the person who ordered it.”
Mo Fei Chen poked his head out of the window, the person looked back and smiled back. ‘Graceful and restrained’ were used to describe a woman, but it was not an exaggeration if used to describe Lu Qingmo’s expression at sunset that day.
“Thank you… Big Brother Lu (Lu Da Ge) …”
The two of them headed towards Kun Yun Mountain after they had enough to eat and drink (wine).
Mo Fei Chen’s physical strength almost reached its limit so he was getting tired and sleepy. He Yunfeng carried him on his back and just like this walked along, while the stalls beside them were closing up and all kinds of shops, except for the tavern, were providing the samples.
“Shi Fu… I think the people who are following us there are from Jing Shui Sect, so we can’t just go up directly to Kun Yun San Zhuang right?” Mo Fei Chen thought about it and wondered what Jun Wushuang, this person was thinking about, didn’t he already get everything he wanted? His father, who was trapped in the Ding Chan Temple, the position of sect master. If he was so interested in him, hadn’t he already let him deflower him?
Pei Pei, What the heck? Lao Zi is not a maiden, just took it as if I’d been bitten by a dog!
[Pei, Pei or Pah/Bah/ Pooh is the spitting sound]
The corners of He Yunfeng’s mouth turned into a faint smile, “They didn’t even notice us, they were just looking around without aim, but like you said, let’s go back from the back of the mountain.”
Both of them arrived at the farm behind the mountain and took a free ride on a bullock cart.
