Chapter 602: Christophsis Civil Unrest
Under the instigation of the Corporate Alliance, the Retail Clan also began to act, and they were the promoters of the civil turmoil on Christophsis.Updated from novelb(i)n.c(o)m
The Retail Clan itself used to be a Trust Group composed of Hundreds of Enterprises, mainly engaged in the retailing of small commodities. After the formation of the group, they began to monopolize these commodities from raw materials to production and processing to sales, thus accumulating a huge amount of funds.
When the Separatist Movement started to rise, they were also one of the most active members, because their main markets were in the Outer Rim. If the Outer Rim could become independent, their interests would be maximized.
Therefore, when the war was approaching, the Retail Clan combined almost all of its funds to invest in Warship and Droid manufacturers in exchange for a part of the production share of these manufacturers.
Even the Fourth Group has received a huge investment from the Retail Clan. Gross Shelby handed over 10% of the production line production of several of its Frigates and Destroyers to them, which can be regarded as helping them initially establish a Fleet.
The result of this is that the Retail Clan has grown into a huge Military Group in just a few years. After the outbreak of the civil war, the Retail Clan immediately mobilized this huge Military Force and launched an attack on several Planets that they had been very influential in before.
However, although the Retail Clan is jumping up and down like this, they are still dozens of grades behind the Industry Giants such as the Corporate Alliance, and now when the Magistrate of the Corporate Alliance, Passel Argente asked them for help, the Retail Clan is really flattered.
Especially when Passel Argente proposed to jointly attack Christophsis and then everyone would split the bill, although they would only get 20%, but this was Christophsis!! A Crystal Planet with a population of 35 Billion!! Not to mention 20% of the income, even half, is enough to drive them crazy.
The plan proposed by the Corporate Alliance also made the Retail Clan feel that this action was absolutely worthwhile.
Since the Retail Clan has a deep relationship and trade with the Kerkoidens, they do have the ability to let the Kerkoidens do things on Christophsis.
So Palpatine simply found a high-sounding reason to let Bail Organa lead a special envoy to visit Christophsis.
Bail Organa can't help it either, since what he advocates is peace, and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine did ask him to solve the problem in a peaceful way, then he has no reason to shirk.
So the next day, July 7th, Bail Organa led a mission from the Republic to Christophsis.
However, during this period of time, the situation on Christophsis became worse and worse, and the riots set off by the Kerkoidens intensified.
Many of these Kerkoidens work as Mercenaries or Security Guards, and many security codes and gate keys are in their hands. If these people fight back, many Enterprises and Factories on Christophsis will have completely irresistible damage, with many places being looted.
Under such circumstances, the Government authorities of Christophsis finally couldn't bear it anymore. They began to reorganize the Army and carried out armed suppression of the rioting Kerkoidens.
However, the situation is not as easy as the Christophsis Government authorities imagined. Although the rioting Kerkoiden Soldiers couldn't get Heavy Equipment like Tanks, they already had Basic Weapons after all, and what's worse, they had more Weapons than they imagined!!
"You know, I helped you a lot with this matter...Mr. Passel Argente." In the Holographic Projection, a middle-aged man with a high hairline and wearing a suit shook the cigar in his hand, "This scale of Arms Smuggling can be carried out by no more than 10 people in this Galaxy, and 7 of them are Hutts."
Passel Argente smiled and said to this person: "Don't worry, Santa Claus, as long as you can successfully take down Christophsis, you can get more than 10 times the profit!!"
"Then, I wish you success." Yuri Orlov was noncommittal but smiled enigmatically.
