Chapter 67 They Will Know Sooner Or Later

After rejecting Qi Shan's request, Jiang Ming had hurriedly left for the Moon Bazaar.

'That Qi Shan must really want to ruin me. If all the students there got massacred by her and only I'm alive, then it would be extremely difficult for me to solidify my reputation and influence.' Jiang Ming thought.

Honestly, Jiang Ming doesn't really care if millions of people die in front of him.

However, if those deaths would somehow obstruct his plan and goal, then that is something Jiang Ming wouldn't allow.

It was also because of this mindset that Jiang Ming had not targeted Shaoxing Ming even though he was the main culprit of the original Jiang Ming's death.

The timing just wasn't right.

"J-Jiang Ming, you have finally returned?" Hong Ling quickly called out when she noticed the arrival of Jiang Ming.

Jiang Ming raised an eyebrow.

"What happened, Hong Ling? Why do you sound so anxious?" Jiang Ming asked.

"W-Well, right after you left, there was someone from the academy that came over here and asked about your whereabouts."

"Let me guess, she looks very elegant and mature with long blue hair."

Hong Ling quickly nodded her head.

"How did you know who I was talking about?" She asked.

Jiang Ming laughed softly as he obviously knew who the person was.

After all, she had just gone to his house to visit him personally. It's just that he didn't realize that she had come to the Moon Bazaar first to look for him.

"That elegant woman you saw is my instructor in the academy. She came to the Central District to warn me about the upcoming examination." Jiang Ming explained as he headed upstairs.

Hong Ling quickly followed behind.

Sometime later, Jiang Ming sat in his office and scanned through the documents.

"Seems like our opening is a success." He smiled lightly.

"Un, we are swamped with many orders as soon as we are open for business. In addition to that, with Alchemist Ren's personal recommendation and guarantee of our products, the people in the Central District were thrilled to even be able to put an order."

"That Little Ren really knows how to curry favor."

"It's because you are simply way too amazing, Jiang Ming. I have never seen Alchemist Ren try that hard to gain someone's favor."

Jiang Ming shrugged his shoulders. "What can I say? I'm just too knowledgeable and easygoing compared to some other old fogeys."

"..."

Hong Ling was rendered speechless on how to reply to his words.

To phrase the other renowned alchemists in the Northern Alchemist as old fogeys, there was probably only Jiang Ming that would do so.

Other people wouldn't even dare to show an ounce of disrespect, much less calling them names other than their title.

"Anyway, how's your cultivation looking so far, Hong Ling? I recall giving you a cultivation technique a while ago, so there should be some improvement, right?"

Hong Ling didn't bother answering his question. Instead, she exuded her aura and directly showcased her cultivation base for Jiang Ming to see.

Action speaks louder than words, and she wanted to use this chance to impress him.

She flicked her hand around and threw out numerous arcs of spiritual qi toward a vase.

The vase was directly shattered into bits upon contact by Hong Ling's spiritual qi.

"What do you think, Jiang Ming?" Hong Ling said as she retracted her spiritual qi.

"Not bad actually… Compared to the average people in the Northern Continent, you can be considered above average." Jiang Ming commented nonchalantly.

Shattering a vase with their spiritual qi is quite simple. Thus, Jiang Ming wasn't that amazed or surprised about Hong Ling being able to accomplish it.

Meanwhile, Hong Ling was smiling silly from the side.

Despite the nonchalant comment from Jiang Ming, it was enough for her to know that she still has some talent.

"Make sure to continue to improve your cultivation base and study the technique well. The world is dangerous and if you don't have any capability of protecting yourself, then it's over."

"I understand, Jiang Ming. I would not disappoint your expectations."

Jiang Ming nodded his head.

Time slowly passed by, and Hong Ling finally noticed something was amiss.

"W-Where's Madam Yang?" She muttered in confusion.

It was already noon, yet Yang Liqin was nowhere to be seen.

Thinking that she might have encountered some troubles, Hong Ling quickly informed Jiang Ming.

"Jiang Ming, something must have happened to Madam Yang. With her personality and attitude that I've seen the past few days, she would definitely not be late to arrive at the Moon Bazaar." She said in a somewhat panicked tone.

Madam Yang has been extremely kind to her and there was no way she would just let her be in danger.

Meanwhile, Jiang Ming almost choked on his own saliva when Hong Ling suddenly brought up Yang Liqin.

"Cough, it's fine, Hong Ling. Aunt Yang is just resting at home because she's been over exhausted these past days." Jiang Ming managed to quickly find an excuse to answer her.

Alas, he had underestimated the influence of Madam Yang on Hong Ling.

"That's even worse, Jiang Ming. We must quickly bring some medicine to recuperate Madam Yang. How can we still be dilly-dallying here?" Hong Ling said.

She then proceeded to head out of the office, most likely to find some suitable medicine for Yang Liqin to consume.

"..."

Jiang Ming slowly rubbed his temples to soothe his headache.

Why do all of the women around him always act whatever they want?

"Ugh, whatever… sooner or later, they will know that I've slept with Yang Liqin anyway." Jiang Ming muttered.

Unwilling to linger on something inevitable, Jiang Ming opened the system prompt while staring at a particular mission.

Mission #28- a mission that he had accepted a while ago.

He stood up and walked toward the center, staring outside the bustling streets in the Central District.

'Instructor Yuan Chunhua was right. I better be careful with this year's examination. I can't possibly ruin my chance of completing the Mission while extracting some of my revenge.'
