Yuan Chunhua was baffled when Jiang Ming suddenly asked what kind of rewards he might receive.
Who was he kidding?
"You are definitely going to receive some medal of honor from the emperor." Yuan Chunhua said, trying to keep calm.
After all, she wasn't even sure if she could fight and kill a Spiritual Grandmaster Realm. Yet, Jiang Ming was able to do it with such a low cultivation base.
Could there be some secret techniques that Jiang Ming had learned?
Yuan Chunhua's mind was filled with numerous questions, but there was nothing else she could do.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming started to kneel down and began dissecting Skartoom's corpse.
Even though it might be disgusting and gory, every part of Skartoom was money and valuable materials.
Sometime later, Jiang Ming placed all of its valuables into his inventory as he flashed a blissful smile.
"Alright, let's leave, Instructor Yuan Chunhua."
"Un, let me contact the other instructors first since everything is clear and safe to proceed further inside." Yuan Chunhua said and took out a talisman.
The talisman was bright yellow and began to glow up once Yuan Chunhua injected some of her spiritual qi into it.
However, no matter how long she had waited, the talisman couldn't connect to any of the instructors.
"What's going on?" Yuan Chunhua muttered.
"Why aren't the other instructors picking up their talisman? Didn't the Master tell them to keep it out at all times?"
She began to walk around in a circle, anxiously waiting for a response from the other instructors.
'Sigh, is she really going to wait here all day until she receives a response from the other instructors?' Jiang Ming wondered silently.
As much as he wanted to stop her from doing so, he couldn't do anything except wait for her decision.
After all, there was no way he could tell her upfront that the other instructors and students were dead.
He would have to explain how and why he knew that information. At that time, it would create more troubles and chaos.
Therefore, Jiang Ming could only sit in a lotus position and closed his eyes as he pretended to cultivate.
Time slowly passed by, and Yuan Chunhua finally breathed out a soft sigh as she stored her talisman into the spatial ring.
"Forget it, I can't connect with the other instructors." She said in annoyance.
And she continued, "We'll head back to the academy first and report our investigation process to the master."
Jiang Ming opened his eyes and nodded his head.
Exerting a bit of force, he got up and glanced around the crater.
"Should we seal the area, Instructor Yuan Chunhua? Just in case the Principal and the Emperor want to investigate further by themselves." He asked.
"Hmm, you're right. We should set up a formation here to retain the evidence to support our claim."
"Indeed, so Instructor Yuan Chunhua, it's your time to shine."
"W-What?" Yuan Chunhua was baffled as she raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean it's my turn to shine?"
"Well, I exhausted most of my spiritual qi already when I fought with the abyssal demon. You wouldn't be expecting me to set up the formation as well and overexert myself, right?"
"I guess you're right about…" Yuan Chunhua trailed off and proceeded to throw numerous spirit stones across the crater.
Afterward, with a flick of her hand, she injected some of her spiritual qi onto the spirit stones, causing it to glow and create a field barrier.
The process might seem simple, but it was actually a tedious task that required extreme focus.
One mishap could result in a faulty barrier and she'll have to redo the entire process again, exhausting more of her spiritual qi.
Luckily, Yuan Chunhua was an experienced cultivator and would never commit such amateur mistakes.
"Alright, let's head back to the academy." Yuan Chunhua clasped her hands together and said calmly.
Jiang Ming nodded his head.
"Before we leave though, are you going to expose my scheme to the principal?" He asked coyly.
The scheme Jiang Ming referred to was naturally the part where he had purposely stalled and delayed Yuan Chunhua from stopping the Batron's blood ceremony.
Although she hadn't said it aloud, it was pretty clear for him to notice that she was still suspicious of him.
Sure, he may have slain the abyssal demon in the end, but that does not clear his suspicion and conduct regarding the matter.
"You wouldn't expose me, right?" Jiang Ming asked again. This time, he was walking toward Yuan Chunhua and held onto her sleeve.
"I know I was wrong in this matter, but there weren't any big consequences…" he added.
Yuan Chunhua held a solemn expression as she glanced at Jiang Ming.
A few minutes later, she finally let out a soft sigh and shook her head.
"Sigh, I don't know if I should report your conduct to the Principal yet. I'll have to keep an eye on you to make sure you aren't in cahoot with the abyssal demons." She said calmly.
She then moved her arm around, flicking Jiang Ming's hand out of the way.
"Let's report this matter first before we talk about anything else."
After that, Yuan Chunhua activated her movement technique and left ahead.
'Phew, at least she wouldn't be exposing me anytime soon.' Jiang Ming thought.
If Yuan Chunhua was going to report him, then she would outright say it aloud instead of going a roundabout way to avoid his question.
She just wasn't that type of person, and Jiang Ming was grateful for that.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Jiang Ming activated his movement technique as well and followed Yuan Chunhua.
However, he quickly noticed Yuan Chunhua had halted her movement.
Yuan Chunhua held a dazed and solemn expression as she stood still, seemingly in deep thought.
"What happened, Instructor Yuan Chunhua?" Jiang Ming landed on the ground and asked.
"No wonder the other instructors had not responded to me… they were busy meeting with the underworld." Yuan Chunhua muttered as her eyesight landed on the sea of corpses.
