Chapter 8 Assault
Blue Vine University was bustling with people at night. According to the university’s rules, all students had to return to their dormitories at twelve o’clock midnight, regardless of the reason.
Therefore, around eleven o’clock, there was a large number of students on the road. All of them were rushing back to their dormitories from the laboratories or classrooms.
Odin was also on his way back now and he was in a good mood. After Carlot’s guidance and sparring with some students, Odin had a general sense of how EXP was calculated.
When sparring with those ordinary students, besides the first victory and second victory, he received 30 and 20 EXP respectively, after the third time, the amount he gained was even lesser at 10 EXP.
From the looks of it, if Odin kept fighting or grew stronger he might not even receive that 10 EXP.
However, Cardory and Carlot both were a rich pool of experience. Odin’s current ability was unable to withstand two moves from them but every time he could obtain 10 EXP from them and would not decrease.
For just a few hours, Odin would take a rest every time he failed before continuing to fight. Now the amount of EXP he had ground was 350.
If Odin did not care about the profession he chose, he could easily receive the Crow God’s three professions.
This was a good opportunity and Odin began planning. Before he receives the graduation certification, he will keep grinding for EXP. If the Detroit Ground Combat Club was no longer useful, he could still go to other combat clubs.
Everything will be convenient with EXP on hand. As for the initial profession, there was no need to choose from Crow God’s three professions.
There were many legends about Blue Vine University having many extraordinary professions. For example, a certain book in the library contained the requirements for the Mage profession.
Another example was on top of the statue in the Blue Vine University’s square, it recorded secrets of an unknown extraordinary profession.
Odin could choose from all of these. He noticed that as long as he knew the requirements for this extraordinary class, he could obtain them through EXP. There was no need for ritual or potion like the others.
Just this point made Odin much stronger than others.
With such thoughts, Odin’s mood was getting better and better. Everything that happened this morning was almost cast aside by him.
However, all of this vanished the moment Odin returned to his dorm.
Odin found that his roommates that should have returned did not return when he opened the door and the candles in the dorm were not lit.
Facing this situation, Odin was slightly upset. He lit up the candles while mumbling, “What the hell? Electricity had been invented yet there are no light bulbs and still using candles. I really wonder what they are thinking.”
Just as Odin placed the candles on the table, he felt a chill behind him as though something passed by his back.
After training combat skills for half a day, Odin instinctively turned around and struck his behind.
He punched out but only saw a flash of a white figure behind him as if he hit nothing. But he felt his fist being punched into icy water with a bone-chilling sensation.
Odin gritted his teeth and turned around to punch out again. This time he still hit nothing. However, at this moment, Odin clearly saw the scene in front of him and could not help to call out, “Senior Annie.”
It turned out the floating white figure Leo saw was a figure emitting a faint light enough to let people see her face clearly.
Odin recognized this face as it was the face of the university’s rather famous Beauty Scholar, Annie Louise.
She was Blue Vine University’s quite famous female Scholar. The reason why she was famous besides her ability and beauty, was also her identity. Her father was rumored to be a professor in the nearby college union and her mother was a bishop of the Goddess of Wealth.
It could be said that with her status, she had countless admirers within the university. However, she did not respond well to all of them. Using her words, she wanted to devote herself to her studies.
But there was some gossip within Blue Vine University stating Senior Annie was abandoned by her family due to not having the potential of being extraordinary. On the surface, she was devoted to studying but actually was searching for other methods to enter the realm of the extraordinary.
Based on the situation in front of Odin, it was clear she was not an ordinary person. People may even believe if someone said Senior Annie was a ghost.
The white figure paused for a bit when she heard Odin calling her name. Soon, a trace of killing intents flashed through her eyes. She opened her mouth as though saying, “K-kill you!”
Looking at Senior Annie pouncing at him, Odin instinctively dodged. This was some ability Odin learned during the afternoon from ground combat. Carlot and the others’ attacks were too powerful for other students. So before teaching them combat, Carlot would teach them how to dodge on the ground.
However, Odin forgot he was in the dorm. Since the dorm at Blue Vine University was not spacious, he dodged and hit the bed and injured himself instead.
Senior Annie used this opportunity to pounce on Odin and grabbed his neck with her hands as though wanted to choke Odin to death.
Odin only felt a bone-chilling sensation on his neck as if being stuffed into a frozen river.
At this point, Odin’s brain was almost frozen. In this critical moment, Odin suddenly thought of something that Senior Annie could be counted as a spirit.
One of the Crow Gods’ three professions was a profession specifically to deal with the spirit, Spirit Warlock.
However, there was a problem. If one wanted to choose Spirit Warlock, one’s Mental had to reach 2.0 or else having EXP only was useless.
Odin’s Mental was the highest attribute, but it was only at 1.7, a little short of 2.0. If he forcefully advanced using EXP, not to mention whether the system allowed it or not, the aftereffects were not something Odin could endure.
Just as Odin was hesitating, Senior Annie suddenly opened her mouth in front of Odin and powerfully sucked.
Odin felt his blood gushing to his head.
This made Odin alarmed and headbutted Senior Annie without caring too much to push her away.
But Senior Annie was in a complete ghost state, Odin headbutted nothing. However, this also released him from Senior Annie’s control letting him escape from her grasp.
