Chapter 25 Involvement
The entire body was unhuman-like, instead, it was a heap of flesh and skin.
They just left for half an hour and before leaving, Chris was still breathing albeit weak and capable of speaking. Dying in such a bizarre way, no matter who saw this scene, a deep sense of fear would be born.
As if being haunted by some evil spirits, Chris’s body was squeezed dry, leaving an empty husk behind.
Grant immediately came after hearing the news. Seeing Chris on the bed, Grant clenched his fists, barely stuffing back the scream that almost burst out of his throat.
“What is going on?” With an ugly expression, Grant questioned the doctor by the side. Although he already had some guesses, even the top doctor on the campus couldn’t even discern anything from this kind of dying method.
As expected, the doctor helplessly shook his head and spoke in a slightly tired voice “This kind of dying method is too bizarre. The entire body’s blood was drained as if being used as some kind of nutrient being sucked clean of all power.”
“It must be Odin!” Grant’s eyes turned bloodshot as he shouted with a trembling voice. Up until this morning, the last person with the intention to harm interacted with Chris was Odin. They initially thought it was just a superficial wound but judging from the current situation, Odin might use some unknown method to cause Chris to die in a bizarre way after an hour.
“Wait, I’ll go call an officer right now to deal with this matter. I will make Odin suffer!” Turning around, Grant furiously left the room and prepared to search the campus police.
“Sir Grant! What about Chris?” The two minions cautiously asked Grant after he had walked afar.
“Leave it! Before I return, no one is allowed to touch it! It’s evidence of Odin committed the murder!” Grant, as if losing his reason, spoke with a vicious tone.
The two minions were scared out of their pants but not daring to utter any more words. They nodded obediently and covered Chris’s body with a piece of white cloth.
Therefore, there was a ruckus when Grant brought an officer causing a scene in the campus building at noon.
To avoid the lecturers’ and students’ confusion, Odin followed the officer and Grant back to the security office. The officer was still wary of him and directly placed Odin in a barred questioning room.
Listening to the officer describing Chris’s death, Odin felt silent. With this kind of dying method, even using his knee to think, the name Black Death Society emerged in his mind.
It was too bizarre, even though he didn’t have many exchanges with the Black Death Society but this kind of dying method certainly was related to them.
Moreover, the time Chris passed away was too much of a coincidence, it was right after his spar with Chris. With Chris dying in such a way, no matter who it was, one definitely would have suspected it was Odin’s doing. In addition to the hostile relationship between the Black Death Society and Odin, one basically was certain it was the Black Death Society’s deed.
Right now, Odin scrunched his brows as he wondered how to make the officer believe his words.
“Officer! Look at his speechless expression, surely he was the one who did it. Don’t hesitate anymore, just convict him already!” Grant, who was by the side, was shouting since he saw Odin’s frowning expression and thought Odin was revealing an anxious look.
“Officer, can you please make this crowing rooster shut up? And how is he related to this case? Why are unrelated personnel attending this interrogation?” Odin had enough of Grant’s squawking. The noise made him irritated and the loud noise caused him to have headaches, and unable to let him organize his thoughts.
“What did you say?! I’m a witness…” Hearing Odin’s words, Grant jumped up from the bench and pointed at Odin, preparing to curse at him.
“That’s enough, stop it.” The officer rubbed his head as he also felt Grant was too boisterous. Grant had been yelling nonstop since he began describing the case and the officer was beginning to be unable to endure it.
“I already understand what you’re describing. There’s nothing for you now, so you can return.” The officer made a sending-off gesture.
“This…” Grant was hesitating as he didn’t wish to miss the scene of Odin being interrogated.
“What this and that?! This is the security office, not your Silver Snake. Leave now or else I’ll lock you up first!” Unable to hold back his temper, the officer lashed out at Grant.
“Hmph! We’ll see about that!” Grant snorted as he had been bearing for almost a day. Abruptly standing up from the bench, he mumbled to himself as he left.
“I’m Wilson, the officer in charge of the campus security. Now that kid is gone, can you tell me what’s going on?” Seeing Grant leaving his vision, the officer faced Odin and slowly spoke.
“I believe this matter is related to the Black Death Society.” Lowering his voice, Odin spoke with a serious expression since this related to his life and death. Maybe telling the security officer might be beneficial?
“Black Death Society?! The group led by the Crow God?” Wilson frowned with a look of distrust in his eyes.
“That’s right, before this I was monitored by the Black Death Society. They wanted to exchange me for something else. They have been causing trouble for me since a while ago and I almost died in one of their members’ hands.” Odin didn’t fully reveal his entanglement with the Black Death Society but he didn’t lie either.
“How is this related to Chris’s death?” Wilson was unsure why Odin brought up the matter with the Black Death Society since it didn’t sound like it had anything to do with the current case.
“I had a spar with Chris this morning but I just broke his arms and leg. It won’t cause a life-threatening situation, at most he will be bedridden for months but not die like that. I’ve heard the Black Death Society has abilities related to mental strength. That way of dying, don’t you feel it was caused by mental strength being completely sucked dry?”
“This is just your speculation. How do I know whether or not you’ve killed him during the spar? Besides, why did the Black Death Society kill Chris? They have no prior exchange with Chris.” Frowning, Wilson felt Odin was spouting nonsense, wasting his time.
“Because they want to frame Chris’s death on me!”
