Chapter 36 Decisive Battle

Due to the ice barrier being a defensive skill, it wasn’t pierced by Adolf. Instead, a crack formed in the middle of it.

Although Odin wasn’t struck directly, the momentum behind the punch penetrated through the ice barrier, pounding his face. Traces of blood appeared on Odin’s mouth as he almost puked out a mouthful of blood from the momentum, but Odin forced it back down his throat.

Odin tightened his legs on Adolf’s waist. Despite not being able to sense any pain, Adolf’s movement was restricted. Since Adolf’s waist was trapped, he was unable to turn sideways fluidly. So, he attempted to reach out his hands to grab Odin’s legs which were on his waist.

In this split moment, dozens of icicles bolted at Adolf’s eyes. As the distance was too close and his movement was restricted by Odin, Adolf was unable to destroy the icicles as he did just now.

With no way, he released the hand that was still gripping Odin’s collar to use it to cover his face. Dozens of icicles stabbed into Adolf’s right arm and the great force caused Adolf pushed him back several steps.

Meanwhile, Odin regained his freedom and increased his distance away from Adolf.

Blood dripped from Adolf’s arm as the icicles vanished, leaving holes behind on his arm.

Odin realized it wasn’t red-colored blood flowing within Adolf. It was umber-colored akin to blood coagulated after being exposed to air. He was slightly repulsed by it, unsure whether or not the person before him was dead or alive. It wasn’t liquid blood gushing out, instead, it was somewhat coagulated blood chunks trickling out from the holes.

Adolf wasn’t capable of sensing any pain, but he was annoyed by Odin’s trickery as anger found its way onto his face. He reached out and ripped a piece of cloth from his body to wipe the blood chunks on his arm off before giving simple bandaging.

This moment was supposed to be the golden opportunity to kill Adolf, but the punch Odin suffered just now obstructed his Qi energy, temporarily unable to activate the ice skill.

“I thought it was just a lucky punk with flowery moves, but you’re somewhat capable. You’ve quite some petty tricks.” Adolf’s face turned even green, perhaps due to the blood loss earlier.

“You’re not bad yourself.” Odin’s face was unsightly too and too lazy to bother with the other party’s taunts.

Randomly grabbing the vase next to him, Odin froze it to increase its sturdiness before hurling it at Adolf. In reality, it was just a distraction for Adolf, not a real means of attacking.

Following the vase were dozens of icicles. If Adolf hit the vase as he did with the icicles before, then these icicles will pierce his chest, finishing him off.

However, Adolf didn’t act the same. Slightly leaning his head aside, the vase was avoided. Since Adolf didn’t face the vase directly, the icicles behind it also missed their target too.

Adolf let out a brittle laugh as he glanced at the vase and the icicles, “It’s better for you to save your spirit energy, instead of using these petty tricks. Otherwise, you’ll have an ugly death. I can sense the fluctuation from your spirit form and it’s clear you didn’t just use this single skill. Don’t treat me like an idiot.”

Odin stuck out his tongue internally and wondered how Adolf knew he was treating Adolf like an idiot. Nevertheless, Odin didn’t expect the attack just to be successful. He was just trying to find an opening, he would try again if it failed.

“Alright, tickling time is over.” Adolf’s face turned solemn as he deeply stared at Odin.

Simultaneously, all over his body was emanating black mist. As if alive, the black mist gathered at Adolf’s side, twirling around him. Just as Adolf’s face was enveloped by it, it stopped its gradual advancement while silently hovering by Adolf’s side.

Eddy, who was sprawling behind them, brightened his eyes as he witnessed this scene, “Adolf, you’re finally using this skill! Odin, you’ll be dead for sure this time!” Eddy announced as he crawled backward, avoiding being damaged by Adolf’s black mist.

The black mist gave a foreboding sense to Odin as instinctively retreated a few steps while frowning.

“What? Afraid?” Adolf, who was raveled by the black mist, sounded even hoarse akin to hearing his voice from afar.

All of a sudden, Odin recalled he was a projected spirit, which meant it wasn’t his physical self standing there but his spirit form instead. If the black mist came in contact with spirit form, it probably wouldn’t be poisoned instantly like the physical body.

Everything was fine if it wouldn’t be poisoned instantly. Odin regained his composure as dozens of icicles materialized again, darting at Adolf. But, Adolf remained motionless while several tendrils of black mist were born from the huge black mist, tightly tangling the icicles. Followed by a casual flick from the tendrils, the icicles flew back at Odin.

Burrowing his brows, an ice barrier appeared in front of Odin as the icicles that contacted the ice barrier broke apart, falling to the ground.

However, the tendrils didn’t stop moving and it was drifting toward Odin. They weren’t blocked by the ice barrier, since they went over it and continued extending at Odin.

Constantly stomping on the wall to retreat, Odin attempted to pull his distance away from the tendrils. But, the tendrils’ speed increased along with Odin’s. Just as the tendrils were about to touch Odin’s fingertips, they froze suddenly.

Odin looked in Adolf’s direction and immediately understood what happened. These tendrils were viruses residing in Adolf with him as host, so their range of mobility couldn’t be too far away from him. Once they exceeded Adolf’s control range, they would lose their vitality.

As expected, the next moment, the tendrils retracted back to the black mist surrounding Adolf.

Instead of stopping his movement, Adolf dashed in Odin’s direction. From Odin’s perspective, a blob of black mass was speeding toward him and he found the situation amusing.

Judging from Adolf’s speed, he was going to arrive before Odin soon. Odin heaved out a sigh as the time for using Level 4 and 5 skills had finally arrived.

He didn’t intend to use these two skills in this fight.
