Chapter 251: Ice Magic
Chau Yu nodded at Yim Hos seemingly rash charge. A reckless but the best option nonetheless.
Although Yim Ho had a hidden class, his combat style was melee-oriented like a warrior, so he could easily finish Man Hing Yau off once she was in proximity. Tiger Morph also granted him enhanced movement speed that wouldnt get interrupted by attacks like Dash; as long as he kept Tiger Morph active, the buff applied permanently. A melee fighter with such diverse skills was perfectly suited for picking off elementalists like Man Hing Yau.
Man Hing Yau calmly cancelled her spell as if she had been waiting for Yim Ho to charge at her. Sensing her composure, Yim Ho knew she was prepared to take him head-on. He roared, Good!, then clawed at her with his right hand.
Yim Hos Attack and Attack Speed were both buffed by Tiger Morph, but he couldnt reach Man Hing Yau before she spun her short staff and stomped the ground, spreading a ring of frost around her.
Level 25 Elementalist skill, Glaciate. Freezes all targets within a five-metre radius for 2 seconds.
Yim Hos palm was frozen stiff right before reaching its target. Once he was frozen, Man Hing Yau swept the short staff in her pearl-white hands forwardsRing of Rebounding Flames.
Upon casting the spell, her short staff was already pointed at where Yim Ho was going to stop when the knockback effect wore off. Yim Hos face twisted as he murmured while getting knocked away from his target, No way
The orange glow of a tiger on Yim Ho faded, replaced by a dark green aura and an opaque shield made from the aura behind him. Though active skills couldnt be cast when under the knockback effect, beast pugilists skills were all passive skills.
Turtle Morph: Increases Defence by 30%, attacks may stun enemies by chance. Lowers movement speed by 30%.
While Yim Ho and Man Hing Yau were engaged in a heated battle, Greenstone was performing an elusive dance with the bandit warrior. His unique footwork proved too much for a mere NPC to handle. No matter how much strength the bandit warrior had, it lacked the technique to strike Greenstone whose footwork was of ancient origins.
Greenstone shot a cold glare at Man Hing Yau when he noticed her swinging her staff.
Ying Tin suddenly flicked his sword upwards. His blade drew an arc-shaped sword aura and shot it towards the two.
Bloodless Bladester and Chan Ka Lok exchanged a glance and dodged to the left and right. The sword aura bashed heavily into the ground between them where they had been standing at. Upon evading the attack, Chan Ka Lok engaged the Level 40 boss while Bloodless Bladester closed in on Ying Tin.
Bloodless Bladester trod lightly towards Ying Tin like a dragonfly skimming a puddle with his unconventional footwork. Ying Tin taunted him with a fearless laugh and said, Be a good boy and do your job as a diplomat, fighting isnt for you! He then swung his sword again, firing off two sword auras this time.
Weaponmasters could choose between two skill trees: Sword and Katana Combatives, or Battle Aura. Ying Tin had chosen the latter which materialises battle aura into sword auras.
Battle Aura skills were fairly straightforward: Crescent Arc was unlocked at Level 20, Double Crescent Arc at Level 25, and Triple Crescent Arc at Level 30. Accuracy was the primary technique required. However, weaponmasters had the option to learn both skill trees. Even low-levelled skills from Sword and Katana Combatives could prove troublesome to deal with.
Weaponmaster, assassin, and rangers were counters to mages by design. Of course, that was only taking the classes alone into account. Player technique, encounter quests, unique itemsall of these could easily swing a class disadvantage around. Windstrider was a prime example. As a ranger, he was weak against warriors, but Dual-Wielding Rifle Mastery and Noh Firearms Marksmanship granted him the capability to take on warriors in melee-range fights.
Ying Tin also completed an encounter quest that rewarded him with a rare piece of furniture, Decorative Sword of Auras. When its effect was active, the range of all Battle Aura skills was increased greatly, coming just short of a rangers usual attack range.
Ying Tin didnt foolishly cross blades with Bloodless Bladester and instead maintained his distance by backtracking. He swung his sword left and right, pouring down sword auras upon Bloodless Bladester. His fighting style was closer to that of a ranger who kited his targets.
Bloodless Bladester was no ordinary fighter either. With his bouncy footwork, he dodged the incoming auras. Still, he knew he was at a disadvantage. He took one out of ten hits despite his evasive manoeuvres; Ying Tin cycled the three aura skills with near-perfect timing, leaving him with little room to turn the tables.
