Chapter 43 Setting Things Up

Quietly sneaking out of his grandmother's home, since she had fallen asleep and Zack also didn't want to have to explain to her who his new friends were or why they were carrying some of his stuff, they made their way back to the dojo.

Their journey back went without a hitch and upon returning, Zack started setting everything up while Achara, Xavier and Connor trained and sparred with each other.

With a reception area at the entrance that would allow their future students to make memberships with their dojo, Zack's skills were impressive, and he seemed to be preparing some sort of programme for it all.

Watching over his shoulder, the others didn't understand much of what he was doing on the computer and it all looked like gibberish to them, but after a few hours, they were impressed by the results.

-

In those few hours that Zack had spent preparing everything, after warming up, Achara and Xavier began showing Connor some basic striking techniques, since his combat skill was close to zero.

And surprisingly, despite his large muscles, his body was still quite flexible, and it didn't take him long to grasp the basics, so they left him to train on a bag by himself while the two of them fought each other.

This time Achara listened and wore protective gear, but with the protective gear on, she didn't hold back and went in for fatal blows unlike before, which made it harder for Xavier to face her.

In the end, their battle ended with both of them deciding to stop and accept a draw, since none had been able to take down the other and had been fighting for quite a while.

"You really are impressive Achara," Xavier couldn't help but comment, as even with his Gangster Instincts that enhanced his reflexes, he couldn't beat her.

"Same to you," she returned, as they took off the protective gear.

Taking off his shirt that was drenched in sweat, Achara was surprised by how toned his physique was but more shocked by the scars on his arms and sides, as well as the bullet wound on his shoulder.

Looking at them, they clearly weren't fully recovered, and those injuries appeared to be quite recent, as she wondered how he managed to get such injuries.

Then it struck her.

He had been able to beat her once and hold out against her in such a state!!!

And to add to that, he was young and also just formed the gang, so how could he have such injuries?

"Don't worry about it," he said to her before she could even ask, as he went into her small home that was behind the dojo and grabbed any shirt he could find.

"Hey! You can't just take what you want from someone else's home!" she yelled.

He just ignored her, as she began chasing after him once again while hurling insults at him.

Taking a while to rest, the two of them, after sparring with each other, were curious to see what Connor would be capable of.

That beast of a man couldn't even fit into any of the protective gear, so they ended up sparring him without it, and although his strength was amazing, it was useless if he couldn't land a blow on them.

And it was to be expected that he struggled to do so and was beaten by both Achara and Xavier with relative ease, but that wasn't to say his performance wasn't impressive.

For someone without any combat experience, he had surprisingly sharp instincts and put all of what they taught him to use, while his physique was just absurdly powerful.

With that, their training was over and all of them were fatigued and very sweaty, as they went to see how much progress Zack had made, and to their surprise, he had mostly finished.

-

As they approached him, Zack had a gloating expression and was eager to show them just how much he had managed to get done.

Taking a picture of Xavier's face with the camera he had attached to the top of the monitor, then typing in a random date of birth, name and membership length, a membership card for the dojo was printed in a matter of seconds.

Satisfied with the work he had done, Achara was overjoyed and hadn't expected him to actually be able to pull something like that off, and it would make her dojo much more efficient.

He then showed them the flyers he had produced that highlighted that the first training session would be free and the different payment plans, sessions, and age groups that they catered to.

They were bright and caught the eye, and if they handed them out on the street, there would be at least a few that were willing to try it out, and that was exactly what Xavier was hoping for.

-

"Well, I guess all that's left is to hand out these flyers and see how many people we can get to sign up," said Xavier, who was getting ready to leave.

"Achara, I'll see you here tomorrow morning and we can hand out the flyers together."

Bidding her farewell, since she lived behind the dojo, Connor and Xavier left with Zack, and planned to drop him off at his home before going back to Xavier's house.

And along the way, Zack couldn't stop himself from revealing something that he had gathered, which shocked Xavier greatly.
