"You arrogant little punk. You really think you can handle anyone else in the room?" yelled one of the subordinates that stood close to the door.
He was the first to speak out of the guards in the room and, although all were dressed in identical black suits, he appeared to be the least influential and capable in the room.
Typical.
The one that had an inferiority complex and the opportunity to assert his dominance over someone that he believed to be below him for once was the first to speak.
But unfortunately for him, his opponent wasn't as weak as he perceived them to be.
"Well, then I guess you've found your opponent."
"Little Marco vs The Unstoppable Killer's companion," commentated the one-eyed demon.
Xavier shrugged and just as he had said, he felt confident about taking on most of the guards in the room, but he was paying attention to all the one-eyed demon's actions.
So far, he appeared to have a very talkative character, but his evil smile, piercing gaze and intimidating presence confirmed to Xavier that he certainly was someone not to be taken lightly.
And to add to that, he had a very arrogant character, but his arrogance was certainly backed up.
As one of the most dangerous men on the planet, how could he not feel as though he was above others?
And somehow, Xavier was standing before him, and about to fight one of his subordinates.
-
Everything was happening so fast for Xavier ever since awakening the Gangster System, and he had already helped to influence and change so many people.
Connor became more confident, driven, and willing to take risks.
Zack was similar, and found a purpose and people he could call friends.
As for Achara, she found also found a new purpose other than her desire to teach her martial arts and become famed for them, and he became the person she could confide in.
Leaving Karim, who had also found someone to rely on and place his bets on, in order to change his life for the better.
All of them had changed so much in a single day, all because they believed in Xavier and what he was pursuing.
So, he couldn't let them down and he wanted to make sure he never missed out on any opportunity that came his way.
-
Making some space, everyone in the very large room spread around the edges, and just taking a moment to look around himself, it was hard for Xavier not to be impressed.
There were all sorts of expensive-looking paintings around the room, as well as a grand chandelier hanging above them.
To add to that, the one-eyed demon had 5 elite subordinates close to him and about a few dozen others around the room.
Despite that, the room wasn't crowded and Xavier was more impressed by how seriously the one-eyed demon took his safety and how cautious he was.
Paying attention as he was led through the fight club, Xavier amazingly saw many more guards dressed in the same plain black suit.
Just how many subordinates did he have?
How long did it take him to build such a powerful establishment?
And how long would it take him to get to such a level?
...
Xavier had so many questions and thoughts running through his mind.
However, he didn't have the time to ponder over them any longer, as he stood opposite the man that was called 'little Marco' by the one-eyed demon.
But, unlike what one might imagine from his name, he was far from being little.
Although not as large as Connor, he was larger than Xavier, both in terms of size and height, and from his toned physique and the fact that he was hired by the one-eyed demon, he was certainly skilled in combat.
However, before he could even put up his guard, Xavier made the first move.
Going in for a high kick to the head with great explosive power and speed, nobody was expecting him to attack so suddenly and with such force, especially Achara, who had seen how much he had trained throughout the day.
But the adrenaline rush made all the past fatigue dissipate, and with everyone that he cared about and decided to follow him being him, he felt as though he could take on the world.
-
Despite being caught off guard, Xavier's opponent still managed to react to his high kick as he put up his arms to block it, but Xavier would expect nothing less from a skilled fighter that served under the one-eyed demon.
Suddenly switching to a low kick, by the time he realised that he had fallen into Xavier's trap, it was already too late for Marco, as he had his legs swept from beneath him and fell to the ground.
Well-trained and clearly quite experienced, he immediately scrambled to get up, and he was certainly skilled, but Xavier had already planned everything beforehand and went to land a powerful blow to his head.
And just as his fist was about to strike his temple, he displayed expert control and managed to stop his attack, not wanting to go too far and already proving that he had won.
Marco felt a gust of wind against his head and knew that if that blow that struck his head, he would have struggled to remain conscious, and was surprised that such a lean physique could produce such power.
However, he still couldn't accept his loss.
"He attacked before we agreed to begin! I wasn't even ready," he complained as he jumped up and prepared to continue.
Xavier didn't let down his guard and was more than happy to take him down a second time, but he didn't feel the need to do so.
"In a fight, there is no agreeing to begin. If you weren't ready and you lost, that's not my problem," Xavier retorted, as he shrugged.
The one-eyed demon burst out into laughter, and he had found another amusing fighter to watch as he instructed Marco to stand down.
"B-B-But..."
"No buts. He fucking told you to stand down," yelled one of the men sitting near the one-eyed demon, causing Marco to immediately submit.
"I don't mind fighting him again if you want me to..."
"Don't bother. Save your energy, I already have a match up in mind for you," the one-eyed demon said with an evil smile that caused a chill to run down his spine.
"But I need a name to put you under. A fighter name," he added as Xavier began thinking of a cool fighter name to go by.
