Upon arriving at the location that the Wild Dog Fight Club's main fights were set to take place, Xavier, Achara, Connor and Sam all received special treatment.
Achara, Xavier and Connor wore masks and hoods, and Sam wasn't going to since there was no point, but they forced him to do so before they were led straight to the bosses.
Knowing what the Wolf Gang were capable of, if they wanted to find out who he was and everything about him, it wouldn't take much effort, and he also didn't have much to hide.
But because the others were so adamant that he started to conceal his face and be more careful, he gave in and didn't really care, as long as he got to fight.
And there was one thing that Xavier was surprised and intrigued by.
The one-eyed demon hadn't been seen in a while, and just like his elite guards had said, they would be in charge of everything.
Known as the demonic five, they were more than capable of operating everything and were the brains of the operations, even when the one-eyed demon was acting as the boss.
And although still serving the one-eyed demon, they were taking more direct control and were much more cautious than the deranged giant that they called their boss.
That was evident from how they acted, and they became the ones that had an excessive number of guards.
But it was clear that it was just for show, and they certainly didn't need anyone to protect them, as they started eyeing up the 4 fighters that arrived together.
-
It was unusual and unexpected that Sam would be with Xavier, and the demonic five didn't expect them to be close enough for Xavier to speak for him and for them to arrive together, but they didn't care about it much.
Of course, they were keeping their eye on them, since their skills were too great to be ignored, but 4 capable fighters were far from being a threat to the Wolf Gang.
It was mostly just curiosity that made them want to look into them.
But they were glad to have them there as that night was going to be one of their biggest nights in terms of all the fights and the level of the fights.
And it was also at one of their biggest underground venues, which was somehow even larger than the previous one that Xavier had been to.
To think that the city was riddled with such large underground structures, with most not knowing of their existence.
-
Informing them of all of their opponents, the demonic five were pleasantly surprised by Connor's size and physique that lived up to Xavier's description, and were disappointed that Xavier himself couldn't fight.
But that was to be expected, and they were all led to a large viewing room for the 4 of them to share.
And the first to fight was Achara.
-
The Wild Dog fight club didn't have any weight classes or gender splits.
It could be said to be unfair, but they sought the greatest fighters, not the greatest in a certain group.
And those that made it into the fight club were the best of the best and getting there wasn't easy, so it was only right that they fought against worthy opponents.
But, agreeing with that and wanting to fight challenging opponents that would push her to her limits, Achara didn't expect her opponent to be so high on the rankings.
Although not in the top 50, her opponent wasn't far off and was a great fighter that had secured their position in the rankings and was quite renowned for their combat capabilities.
It appeared as though the demonic five had recognised her combat prowess, but, of course, it was only natural that she would have her doubts.
However, as soon as she entered the cage and stood opposite her opponent, her mind became clear and she entered the state of extreme focus that she was starting to master.
It was an extremely tough fight against a man who was quite a lot larger than her, and she appeared to be being pushed back the entire fight and overwhelmed by her opponent.
But despite that, she remained calm and after watching Xavier's fights and being around him; she learnt one important thing that changed her entire mindset.
There was always a way to win.
Even when it feels as though it is impossible and the opponent is invincible, everyone has an Achilles heel, or at least an opening that can be exploited.
And even if there isn't, one can always be created.
All one had to do was keep at it and try to sustain as minimal damage as possible.
And doing so, Achara managed to come out on top.
But it was only barely, and she was rushed to receive medical attention after being battered and losing consciousness seconds after knocking out her opponent.
It was an entertaining battle and showed just how much Achara's skill and combat capabilities had improved, while Xavier who had bet a large chunk of money on her, had a wide smile on his face and was impressed by the tenacity that she showed.
He didn't have much money left after the spending spree he had gone on, but betting it all on Achara and also betting a large amount of her money, they had a very large winning.
And Xavier planned to continue to bet on those in the Outlaw Gang even when it appeared as though all the odds were stacked against them, because that's just how much he believed in those he recruited.
-
The next to fight out of them was Sam, and although he was yet to actually officially join and he was merely hanging around with them for a week to see whether he actually wanted to join, in Xavier's eyes he was already a part of the gang.
And similar to Achara, he had a very tough battle with someone much higher than him in the rankings.
But unlike Achara, he didn't appear to struggle much, and it wasn't because his opponent was incompetent, but because of how much he had improved.
While teaching Connor and sparring against the others, he was starting to pick up on his weaknesses, especially when he did light sparring with Xavier.
And what he realised was, although his speed was incredible, he wasn't maximising it by primarily using punches, and by also relying on his guard.
But by becoming a better striker all-around, learning to use kicks, knee strikes and elbow strikes, he became a formidable striker with a relentless combat style.
Then, by improving his evasion of strikes, he could continuously damage his opponent while avoiding injury.
And, even against a larger opponent, his speed and strikes were overwhelming to the point he barely sustained any hits before taking down his opponent.
It was truly an incredible performance that Achara missed out on, but after hearing about it, she was even more eager to work harder, not wanting to be shown up or lag behind the others.
Meanwhile, the true star of that night was Connor...
