Once again the one-eyed demon's lounge, which was now dismantled and bloodied, was silent, and Xavier remained quiet until the insane man finally spoke.

"All I wanted to do was try to recruit you again, but I ended up losing my temper again. These damned bitches need to know their places, and so do you," he warned as he glared at Xavier.

"So what do you say? Are you willing to work under me? You've got pretty decent skills and aren't stupid. I also like that look in your eyes and I can feel it in you. The monster that's also in me and..."

However, before he could finish, Xavier cut him off.

"First off, I'm nothing like you and you'll eventually come to realise that. Second of all, I'm a free-spirited guy, so I wouldn't do well working under someone else. But maybe one day we can work together," he responded shamelessly.

"Together?! You really are one crazy son of a bitch," said the one-eyed demon before bursting out into laughter.

However, as soon as he did, Xavier yelled back at him and it seemed as though the giant man had struck a nerve.

"Hey! You better watch your mouth, baldy!"

Despite knowing he couldn't match up against the 5 elite guards around the lounge, let alone the one-eyed demon himself, he still couldn't help but get angry.

He had insulted his mother, and Xavier would never let that slide, no matter who it was.

But it seemed as though in the process, he ended up angering the one-eyed demon who suddenly stopped laughing and walked over to him, once again getting in Xavier's face.

However, this time he truly held animosity towards Xavier, which he sensed and was intimidated by.

"What did you say to me? Aren't you pushing your limits?"

"I told you to watch your mouth and not insult..."

Before Xavier could even finish, the one-eyed demon grabbed him by the neck, lifting him up into the air with ease.

Then charging towards the closest wall, he slammed Xavier into it and quickly tightened his grip on Xavier's neck.

Quickly it started to feel as though Xavier's neck would be crushed at any moment, but the one-eyed demon didn't stop squeezing and as he did so he had a manic smile on his face.

"I told you to know your place! I hate it when little fuckers like you try to control me like..."

Trailing off, it seemed as though the man had become blinded by his rage, which strangely didn't seem to be completely aimed at Xavier.

But whoever his fury was aimed at didn't matter, since if Xavier didn't act soon, his life would be over...

-

The giant man's strength and power were enough to make him a force to be reckoned with. He somehow surpassed even Connor in that sense. But matched with his speed and bloodlust, he was even more frightening.

Despite that, with his life on the line, Xavier had no choice but to fight back. Even though the chances of him winning were close to zero, he couldn't just give up.

'This fucker, I'll kill him!' he roared internally, as he prepared to gouge out the only eye that the one-eyed demon had left to try and get him to back off.

However, at incredible speeds that Xavier was unsure he could keep up with, the 5 elite guards that served the one-eyed demon all appeared around him.

Their movements were swift, efficient and perfectly in sync with each other, as 3 of them grabbed onto the one-eyed demon and tried to pull him off Xavier.

Meanwhile the other 2 had seized Xavier's arms, noticing that he was aiming for the one-eyed demon's eye and sensing that he was dangerous.

But despite what they did, the one-eyed demon still wasn't letting go of the masked youth's neck and was rambling on about something under his breath.

It made him look like a rabid beast.

Thankfully the words of his 5 subordinates managed to get to him and helped him snap out of the state he was in.

-

"From his frame, actions and voice, he's clearly young."

"And killing a kid is more trouble than it's worth."

"So let him go, and ease your nerves. If you keep getting angry like this, you may suffer health problems."

Clearly adamant about him releasing Xavier, and even willing to use force if necessary, the one-eyed demon was surprised by the actions of the only people he trusted in the world.

In spite of this, he could see that they were still completely loyal to him, which was not something he doubted, so he was willing to listen to them.

Their gazes also begged him to back off, and their pleadings and actions appeared to have worked.

"The fucking dumbass will end up getting himself killed anyway."

Having said that, he released Xavier, who upon falling to the ground took a moment to catch his breath and regain his composure.

But from what happened next, it seemed as though he wouldn't be leaving any time soon and the one-eyed demon wasn't finished with the loose-tongued youth yet.

-

"If you guys grab me like that again, you're all dead," he warned his subordinates, who could tell he wasn't bluffing, before sighing and calming down.

The one-eyed demon was truly insane, and Xavier was struggling to get a read on him, but how quickly he switched between emotions merely highlighted how crazy he was.

It was to the point that he could switch from trying to kill somebody, to complimenting them and trying to have a conversation with them.

But Xavier remained composed, and that wasn't the first near-death experience he had experienced.

Previously, when he had attacked the Black Hand Gang alone, if it hadn't been for Angela, he truly would have lost his life.

However, Xavier knew there would be plenty more in the future and wasn't planning on actually letting them kill him, but there was one thing weighing on his mind.

For whatever reason the 5 of them intervened, it was clear as day that if it weren't for them, he would have lost his life.

And that infuriated Xavier internally.

Of course, he had to appreciate what they had just done, but he felt pathetic.

He was far from being weak and could take down most with ease, and yet before the one-eyed demon, he felt helpless and subconsciously felt as though resisting was futile.

Naturally, since Xavier wasn't the type to give in even when the odds were stacked against him, he was about to attempt to fight back. However, he could tell that it wouldn't have done much.

In the end, compared to the one-eyed demon, he was still merely an ant, but despite internally reprimanding himself for being weak, it excited him for the future.

And it made him wonder what the limit for humans was and what others that were in positions like the one-eyed demon or greater were like.

But he didn't have the luxury of wondering about such things just yet...
