Swiftly making his way through the gloomy penthouse, as soon as the assassins and 2 armed men protecting their young boss engaged in combat, Xavier made his move. Hesitating and being indecisive would only waste time and get him killed, but he also had to be careful and get his priorities straight.

In his mind, other than not getting killed, he needed to save the girl the 2 armed men were protecting. Without her, getting away after everything settled down would be practically impossible.

And so he headed her way without any of the assassins or the 2 armed men noticing him, swooping in beside her and grabbing her. She was just about to crawl away and as soon as he appeared beside her; she tried to scream, but he covered her mouth with his hand.

Giving her a stern but calming look with his piercing blue eyes, she subconsciously relaxed slightly and, for some reason, instinctively trusted him. Meanwhile, she was too overwhelmed to question how he wasn't unconscious, and not even her skilled guardians had noticed that he had disappeared, more focused on the assassins.

However, she still had her doubts and resisted slightly.

"Listen, little girl. I'm gonna find you somewhere to hide, then help your men. Do you have any weapons with you or anything that can cause noise?" he asked in a hushed tone while grabbing her face to ensure she was paying attention.

She shook her head, but Xavier proceeded to pat her down and found a phone as well as a blade on her. The phone was in the inner pocket under her dress and the blade was concealed in her left sock.

"I'll be taking these," he said before lifting her up into his arms with ease and bursting off at unbelievable speeds.

Despite the fact that he was carrying another, he still ran at speeds that most would struggle to keep up with. His movement was also so sudden that even those fighting were surprised by it.

'Who's that shirtless freak and where's he going with the target?!' was what the assassins thought to themselves.

Meanwhile, the 2 men fighting off the assassins and trying to protect their boss were surprised that Xavier was even conscious, let alone able to move that fast while carrying someone. However, in their minds, anyone taking their boss was better than the assassins getting their hands on her, as they returned their focus to their targets.

Concealing the little girl, who despite being Xavier's age had a surprisingly small frame, Xavier made sure she was hidden well before turning around to join those fighting against the assassins.

"Wait..."

"Shut up and hide," interrupted Xavier before dashing off.

-

His heart was racing, and from the looks of it, the 2 men fighting the assassins couldn't hold out for much longer. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to take down 4 assassins alone, Xavier rushed to intervene and save them.

If he was even a second too late, it would all be over. And with that in mind, he increased his speed even further and prepared to use everything at his disposal.

'There's no time to hesitate or think. Just act,' he said to himself internally before throwing the phone, which he had taken from the girl he had hidden, at the nearest assassin.

Immediately after he did, the assassin took his attention off his opponent, that was on the verge of giving out, and turned around to face Xavier. However, following the phone was a sharp blade that the little girl had concealed as a last resort, but would've never been able to use.

It was much more effective in Xavier's hands, who with his incredible strength as well as Expert Precision could generate enough force to pierce the skull of his target. There was a loud cracking sound, almost as if he had struck a wooden block as it pierced the centre of the masked figure's forehead. However, Xavier didn't stop there and burst towards the assassin he had just struck.

He had been slightly too far away to kill his opponent, who had managed to lean back slightly when the knife was thrown. So, to make sure he had taken down the assassin, he jumped towards him and kicked the hilt of the blade embedded in his head.

Forcing the knife deeper into his head, immediately after he did, the assassin's body became limp and collapsed backwards. Before Xavier even had the chance to digest that he had just killed somebody for the first time, he scrambled to get his hands on the gun the assassin he had just taken down had at his hip.

Rolling on the ground, he opened fire, trusting in his skill and Expert Precision. Killing the second assassin that was closest to him by shooting him twice in the head from merely a couple of metres away, he made the most of his opportunity to attack.

However, as he turned to take down the other 2 assassins, they swiftly reacted and jumped into cover.

There was silence for a moment and it dawned on Xavier that he had ended the lives of 2 people. They would never be able to see the light of day again and anyone that ever knew or cared about them would never be able to see them again.

That was all on him.

But despite the shock of what he had just done, his hands weren't shaking and he didn't feel the urge to vomit. Maybe it was because things weren't over yet or because he was no longer the same person he was before embarking on the journey to becoming the Greatest Gangster. Either way, that was something he'd have to face in the future and before then there were still 2 more assassins to take down...

-

Xavier no longer had the element of surprise that had allowed him to take down 2 of them so swiftly and easily. In an upfront confrontation, it would have been more difficult, and he knew that. Especially since one of the armed men suddenly collapsed beside him. Meanwhile, the other was barely able to stand, only managing to muster the strength to move through sheer willpower and adrenaline.

Thinking about the best course of action, before doing anything, Xavier also took cover behind a marble pillar that was nearby. He dragged along the unconscious armed man that had lost too much blood with him, not wanting to leave him in the open.

'If I want to save this idiot and the other's lives, I'll have to end things quickly. But now they're expecting me and who knows if the snipers are still there or if there are more assassins that could come over,' he thought to himself.

Adapting to the situation, the other armed man also took cover. However, Xavier knew he wouldn't be of much help, which meant that it was all up to him to take down the final 2 assassins. But doing so was easier said than done, especially since he no longer had any advantages that he could exploit...
