Season 2: Chapter 44. The Hunt (1)
"Ju-Hyeok, what are you talking about? There are twelve of them out there!"
"That's why we need twelve arrows."
They couldn’t understand each other because of a lack of information about Almond's archery skills.
— He plans to shoot 12 people with 12 arrows. What's the issue here? LOL.
— Fact Check: Almond has often achieved one-hit double kills in Battle Large.
— The uncivilized NPCs are flustered like dogs, LOL!
The viewers understood Almond’s plan, but the NPCs couldn't easily accept it. They had difficulty accepting it because NPCs were programmed to reject unrealistic strategies.
The class president’s group was especially intelligent. They thought and judged everything rationally. To them, the idea of taking down twelve people with only twelve arrows and just three attackers was unrealistic.
However...
"Wait."
The class president stopped the argument. Only he had seen Almond's archery skills. It was just one shot, but it felt like he had seen the essence of archery. Every movement was near perfect when Almond held the bow, drew, and shot.
Of course, this wasn't enough justification for him to take down twelve people with twelve arrows.
The class president made his decision.
"Let's give it a try."
"What?"
"Are you crazy?!"
The other kids strongly opposed it, but those who had seen Almond's archery with the class president supported Almond.
"I think the president is right. We're too hungry. We have to do something."
"We saw this guy shooting an arrow. He might be able to do it. Even if he can't, he'll handle almost everything."
The other two joined in to support Almond.
"We'll go with Ju-Hyeok. You guys can stay here and make arrows."
They volunteered to be the attackers. It was a good opportunity to attack since Baek Joon-Soo was injured. If they missed this chance, they would either starve to death or be attacked and all die together.
"If you guys insist..."
The rest of the students had to accept the president’s words, and the other two volunteered to take the risk and attack Baek Joon-Soo’s gang.
Eventually, they accepted Almond's plan.
"Alright. Take just three arrows for now."
They gathered all the available arrows, and the remaining students started making more.
***
Almond, the class president, and two other members formed the attack squad and headed toward the annex.
"But we only have three arrows... What's the plan now?" the president asked Almond as they approached the annex.
"We need to take some of them down now, so it'll be easier later," Almond replied.
'The game isn't over yet.'
Almond was still worried even though Baek Joon-Soo was injured.
Yoon So-Hee also caused Almond to experience the fear status. They could easily lose if she used her brains.
"But how are we going to get in? There are too many zombies there."
Zombies swarmed around the annex door. They also crowded a window Almond had broken with an arrow and tried to climb over. It was impossible to enter normally.
"Here."
Almond pointed to a curtain rope leading to the second floor of the annex.
***
They all climbed the rope to the second floor.
"What is this?"
The scene on the second floor shocked the class president.
Nail marks could be seen all over the curtains and bloodstains splattered everywhere. The body of a mutated zombie with pale white skin sprawled out on the floor. The sight of its torn-off neck looked horrifying, but that also brought a sense of relief. This creature could no longer move.
“What on earth was here?” someone asked with a trembling voice.
Such an extreme sight was rare even in this zombie apocalypse.
“There was something strange earlier.”
Almond scratched his ear as if nothing much had happened.
— Strange thing: The Boss
— LOL, caught a boss and is scratching his ear LOL
— ???: It’s none of your business ~
— Okay, okay. NPCs, disperse now!
— They would've fainted if they saw LOL
Almond left Class 1-8 without any further explanation.
“The first floor is Baek Joon-Soo’s territory. You guys need to bait them from there.”
— All of a sudden, LOL.
— Tell us this kind of information earlier, dammit LOL
— Ah, right. You guys are the bait, by the way ^^
“Bait?”
The class representatives looked dumbfoundedly at each other.
“Otherwise, there’s no way us four can beat them.”
— I think I like the class president now, lol.
Anyone would react like the class president if they witnessed such a scene.
The person who threw the spear also froze.
"Was that an arrow?"
His question was answered when another arrow struck his forehead.
Thwack!
"?"
"Hey, hey! Your forehead!"
Thud.
The burly guard collapsed and the others lost their fighting spirit after watching his large body helplessly fall.
"Wow, wow..." the class president muttered in admiration from where he stopped.
Whoosh!
Another arrow tore through the air.
Thud!
And another enemy fell.
The problem was that all the arrows had been used. One deflected the spear. One brought down the burly guard. And the last one struck another guard.
However, there were three enemies in total. The remaining guard turned and bolted, declaring an emergency to everyone.
"AHHHHH!!! Everyone, emergencyyyyyy!"
There was no way to catch him as he ran toward the door to the nurse's office. At least, that was what the class president thought.
Whoosh!
Someone brushed past the class president while running. It was Almond.
"Kim Ju-Hyeok? What if you get caught?!"
An archer's place was always in the back. Above all, he said he would stay back. That was the plan.
Almond overtook the class president, slid down to one knee, assumed his stance, and grabbed an arrow off the floor.
Click...!
He quickly nocked the arrow.
The wide-eyed class president could see Almond’s silhouette as he released the bow.
Bang!
"Emerg─"
Thwack!
The guard’s cry was cut off along with the artery in the back of his neck. He stumbled and fell forward.
For a moment, just a moment, silence filled the hallway.
"How is this... possible..."
Was it thirty seconds? No, it all happened in less than ten seconds and three guards fell.
"Ah... This is crazy..."
The enemies didn't even have time to do anything. Not just the enemies, but even the class president and his two followers felt overwhelmed by Almond’s unbelievable combat ability.
— Wow, Baek Joon-Soo's gang is doomed, lol
— That gang is finished once they make all the arrows, lol
— Baek Joon-Soo is doomed!!! Lol.
The viewers all believed in Baek Joon-Soo's imminent downfall.
Of course, it was already determined. Almond had gained an enormous amount of experience after taking down the boss and suffered almost no emotional disturbances.
Now, he even acquired a bow. The fall of Baek Joon-Soo's gang was a given.
However, a small event occurred and a sound echoed out.
Bababam!
[BigSon has donated a whopping 1 million won!]
[I came after hearing the rumors. You’ve blown me away. Crazy!]
— Wow
— Damn, it’s Big Son...
— A big timer, wow
— ?!
— Wow
A famous viewer had donated.
Almond briefly paused at the huge donation. His eyes moved to the clock in the upper right corner showing the real-world time. It was already time to sleep since he started streaming late.
"I think it's about time, and with such a generous donation..."
— ???
— Don't tell me...
— End-of-stream reaction price going up by ten times lol
— Reaction??
— Ah...
"Here goes the reaction."
