"Young Miss called that man personally?"
Li Rong couldn't help but exclaim in shock. She was surprised that the boy she crossed paths with something the higher ups from the main branch called to talk with.
She sucked in a cold breath thinking if she had unknowingly offended a big shot. Yet there was a voice in her head saying that she did nothing wrong and she should not bow her head to anyone.
"Sigh~ so how do you want me to proceed with him, guild manager?"
She sent the thoughts at the back of his mind and continued their talk.
"No need to put in too much thought in his matters, proceed like you usually do with the rest of the mercenaries but try not to be on the bad side of the boy."
He suggested for the final time before signaling the woman to leave the room. Li Rong bowed and walked out of the room.

Hearing the door close and the woman walk away, Ma Ning could not help but fall deep in his thoughts.
"Why did that boy join as a mercenary? Even though he has so much money. I wonder what the young miss thought about when she called him here. Well there is no point thinking too much, I just need to think of surviving her wrath later!"
Ma Ning started trembling in his seat once again as he felt a headache rushing to him, even the workload on his desk was more tempting than meeting the woman staying on the floor above him.
Just like him Xin Yan and Elysia were also thinking why did Noah join the Mercenary hall after all he was the one who said that they don't have to join it.
Sitting in the hall of their new home, Noah felt two pairs of eyes on him. He had been feeling their gaze ever since they had returned from the guild.
"Are you curious about why I decided to join the Mercenary hall?"
Noah sighed and asked himself. He knew if he did not answer their curiosity they might just keep staring at him.
Xin Yan's eyes shone with a cruel and cold light as she clenched her fist. When she continued speaking, she placed her hands on her cheeks cupping them and a sadistic smile appeared on her face accompanying the vacant look in her eyes.
"So I will do the same, when they are so close to achieving their goal I would strike at that time. Make them feel what it feels like to lose happiness that they craved so much to achieve.
Didn't you say it yourself, Revenge is the dish best served cold! He-he~"
Her bell-like sound echoed in the silent hall as Noah and Elysia looked at her with a speechless look. They were surprised to see the sudden change in her personality. Even her gentle laugh sounded so ominous.
Noah was in a trace hearing her words and a distant sound seemed to be echoing inside his heart.

As the sound became louder, Noah came to realize that it was his heart that was racing at fast pace. He placed his hand above his chest to feel the drumming beat of his heart.
It was very subtle yet at the same very strong series of beating.
It was his own heart!
He was getting a little excited seeing the look on Xin Yan's face, something inside of his head told him that her current situation was not something a person should be attracted to.
Heck they should be running as far away from it as they can but he did not pay any heed to that voice.
His heart was roaring "Hey there Danger~" it kept beating harder with each passing second.
