Without waiting for an answer, Ruan An’an continued “I heard that there are more exchange students and transfer students this year than in previous years. This should be the reason.”

— After all, she was one of them.

“Game Championship” was, in simple terms, a national financial investment simulation contest, jointly organized by many education group institutions led by the Game Company.

The competition had been around for years, and there were not many restrictions for application. Anyone between 18 to 26 years old could participate. Although there was no requirement for academic qualifications, 95% of the participants were college students.

There were two competitions of such scale for college students in the country. One of them was the computer science competition that Ruan An’an participated in when she was a freshman, and the other would be the Game Championship. The computer science competition was held once every three years whilst the Game Championship was once every four years. The top universities in China would fight like cats and dogs every time the competitions come around.

University C lost to University F at a slight disadvantage in the previous Game Championship, and the names of the champions were posted on the main page of the Game Championship website for four years, and will remain until the champions of the next competition are announced.

Chancellor Li was kind and friendly, and was very considerate in the school disciplinary management. It was always said that University C had the best study environment and had received the best feedback from students.

However, this old man was especially competitive.

Not for a single day had Chancellor Li forgotten the fact that University F had beaten University C for four years straight. 

Although University C had won the following computer science competition, the Game Championship was still a more prestigious competition. Therefore, Chancellor Li  had always taken the loss of the Game Championship very close to heart. This year, he had set his mind and will to win.

Ruan An’an was in her early twenties, and she only took three years to get a master’s degree from the Harvard Business School. Chancellor Li would never let go of such a talent.

Therefore, that day when the donation documents were signed, Chancellor Li immediately raised the matter of her returning to school, which was why Ruan An’an was able to return to campus so easily.

Gu Jue looked back at the poster she was pointing at, then turned back to face her indifferently, “Are you participating?”

Ruan An’an had participated in a similar competition during the years when she was studying at Harvard, not with the goal to win any prize or title, but only participated out of interest, and won the tenth place in the individual competition.

Although she was not sure if she would be able to win the Game Championship and meet the expectations of Chancellor Li, she should be a better teammate than any other Gu Jue could find. The prize and title was of little use to her, but it would have a great help on the future employment of an ordinary student.

So Ruan An’an nodded, “Yes, do you want to join me?”

One should be very prudent when choosing a teammate.

She was still wondering if she should showcase her intelligence, but unexpectedly, Gu Jue agreed without hesitation, “Okay.”

“…”

Ruan Anan was taken aback. Before she could respond, he lowered his head slightly and tapped several times on his phone.

He then raised his eyes and said “I just returned your money.”

“…” Ruan Anan did not even look at the phone, her immediate reaction was “So fast?”

I thought he had no money?

It shouldn’t be so fast even if he asked a friend, right?

However, Gu Jue suddenly laughed at her reaction.

Looking at him, Ruan Anan came to a realization and her heart rate began to increase uncontrollably.
