The cold, bone-piercing voice in my ear made me stiffen. Fear spread from the depths of my heart, engulfing my limbs and bones.
In the flickering light of the candle I saw a handsome man sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at me with a smile.
His facial features were picturesque, and his thin lips were slightly pursed. He was an unbearably beautiful man. However, his face was pale and devoid of any trace of blood, giving off a cold feeling.
Cold fingers slid down my cheek to my jaw, and he lifted my chin slightly, his sharp eyes meeting mine.
"You … "Who are you?" I asked, my whole body tense and trembling.
"I … am your husband." It was a sexy voice with an ice-cold tone of fear. The surrounding air became much colder.
Stunned, I uncontrollably nodded my head and repeated his words, "You are my husband."
His fingers slid down my neck, down to my collarbone, and slowly untied my clothes.
The coldness of my body made me feel much more clear-headed. I wanted to struggle, but other than my eyes moving, the rest of me felt as though I was frozen and unable to move at all.
Even the voice was stuck in his throat, unable to say anything.
He tore off my clothes and my body fell down. I looked at him in horror, and bit by bit, I was engulfed by fear.
The sun rose slowly and the temperature returned to normal. It was no longer as cold as it was in the middle of the night.
I pulled myself up from the bed and saw the dark red patch on the bed. It looked like a small red plum flower!
His head felt as if it had been struck by lightning, turning blank in an instant.
Last night's dream was real!
My initial blood is gone, and my target is a ghost!
It took me a long time in bed to react, and I shivered. It doesn't matter if it's true or not, it seems like I need to buy a protective amulet to repel evil spirits.
In the afternoon, there were no classes. I hastily called Lin Jia and Liu Meng over and went to the Bamboo Forest Temple which was located in the outskirts of the city.
Halfway there, we met an old lady blocking our way.
"Grandma, do you need anything?" It couldn't be porcelain, I thought.
"Little girl, you must have been hit by something dirty." The old granny had a righteous look on her face. Judging from the wrinkles on her face, she should be very old.
I thought about what happened last night and felt my heart tremble. I didn't dare to say it out loud. "Grandma, you must be joking. Where is the ghost in this world?"
The old granny looked at me meaningfully and took out a piece of paper from her pocket. "This is my phone. Take it first. It'll be useful sooner or later."
With that, he shook his head and turned to leave.
I stood there in a daze until the old granny's figure disappeared. Then, I held the paper in my hand and quickly followed Lin Jia and Liu Meng.
We worshiped the Buddha statue in the temple, and before we left, I asked the temple head monk to give us a small jade Buddha with a light hanging around his neck.
Walking out of the temple, I felt much more at ease, and my body no longer felt cold.
