The manager was shocked to see that Raze had truly placed the minimum bid on the item. That was very disappointing, but he still had two hours to get others to place a higher bid on this specific ring.
He swiftly concealed his dismay and thanked Raze for patronizing their shop. This time, however, the manager no longer bothered Raze and hoped that the ring would sell for at least 50 Points later on.
Anyway, Raze continued to explore the store to find other valuable items.
Then, she overheard snippets of conversation from other survivors who had ventured into the store.
"The compasses here... they're rumored to guide you to hidden caches, not just the cardinal points..." whispered a Survivor. His eyes gleaming with the prospect of untold riches. this-chapter-is-MVLeMpYr
"Look at these boots—supposedly, they make no sound, perfect for sneaking past hordes... And this stat boost.... This is better than the ones appearing in the store." Another marveled.
Raze's gaze landed on a display of compasses, each with an ornate needle spinning lazily under glass domes. After the other Survivors left, she stepped forward and took a look.
She picked one up, feeling the weight of its potential in her palm.
She then read the information written on its display board.
[ Mysterious Compass: It is said to point to the nearest unclaimed resource within a 3-mile radius.
Note: Some treasures are guarded and this Compass only works with a 50% chance. ]
'Another scam?' Raze thought as she read the description of the item. With that probability rate, it felt like the compass was merely guessing!
She then looked at the six compasses being sold and confirmed that each of them had 15 Points bid on them.
'It's cheap so I guess I can try one.' Raze thought as she placed a bid, a mere 20 Points...
The words of the previous manager had actually stuck with her. Apparently, the bid should just be enough to pique interest but not so high as to draw undue attention.
Raze turned to the boots that were mentioned. There were 10 pairs of them lined up in various sizes. She lifted a pair to check and felt the leather supple and cool to the touch.
Further down the aisle, a set of gauntlets caught her eye, their metal etched with symbols of strength.
[ Titan's Grasp Gauntlets: Increases the wearer's grip and arm strength tenfold. Ideal for scaling walls or crushing zombie skulls. ]
It was quite interesting, but after seeing that someone had placed a bid on it for 400 Points, She immediately backed out.
That was simply too much!
'Or maybe he's completing the Titan Set?' Raze thought as she knew that the 400 Points wasn't a small amount. Whoever placed this bid was definitely serious about taking these gauntlets.
A few more minutes slipped by as Raze continued her exploration, the store revealing its secrets one by one.
She found a quiver that provided buff in each arrow and a water flask that purified any liquid within.
That water flask was already at 600 Points, so Raze decided not to join the bid.
Anyway, the time she spent here was truly an eye-opener. The items she found were all useful for survival and could be used in many ways, like even killing others.
Raze couldn't bid to all of them with her limited points, but she was already quite satisfied with this.
As Raze stepped out of the store, the air was suddenly pierced by a rising discord.
"Awesome! Is this true? How many is he selling?"
"Not sure... But they are all legitimate for sure!"
"Let's hurry and bid while the bigshots are still in the Grand Auction Hall!"
"Right! Let's bid on them! Hurry!"
"Relax... There are two hours for that as well. Furthermore, the bigshots wouldn't want most of these items..."
Raze listened to their conversation, and she soon realized what was going on. Someone was selling Skill Scrolls!
