Chapter 153: Treasure

"Ohhh... As expected of the elves." Shane's eyes lit up after seeing these elves activating one of their finest skills.

He somehow recalled from the memories he had absorbed yesterday that these elves were indeed incredible warriors who wouldn't die easily, especially once they were in the forest.

Then, with the power of the Forest Guardian's Wrath pulsating through their veins, the five elves launched into an intense battle against the beefy Tyrant Zombies.

Eldrin's arrows streaked through the air like guided lightning bolts, finding their marks with unerring accuracy.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

This time, the arrows managed to pierce through the Zombie's tough skin by about 2 inches deep! It was already a great achievement!

Faelar's short blade, his secondary weapon, slashed with precision, striking accurately and leaving scorch marks on the zombies' dark steel-like skin.

Shane could really tell that the Forest Guardian's Wrath was working effectively!

In the meantime, Cirdan's keen eyes locked onto weaknesses in the zombies' defenses, exploiting every opportunity to inflict damage. He targeted their joints hoping to control its movement!

After all, even if the Tyrant Zombie could not be killed easily, as long as they managed to make it stop moving, they would be able to easily win!

Whoosh~

This time, Thalion and Aranion moved in perfect harmony, with their swords moving like blur as they targeted the zombies' heads, aiming to destroy their brains!

Graaaghh!

However, the Tyrant Zombies' skull seemed to be tougher than steel!

Clank! Clank!

Their swords managed to cut their flesh but were stuck in their skulls!

'Just how strong was Raze's dragon...' Shane mused as he saw what had just happened.

Raze was the first one to kill the Tyrant Zombie, who was hiding somewhere in the sewers. Although it took Raze several days to kill this Zombie, that was still impressive for a Survivor who wasn't even level 10 at that time.

Shane could only think that it was all thanks to the baby dragon that she had.

Clang! Clang!

He wasted no time as he looted the fallen Tyrant Zombies, acquiring a variety of valuable items and resources that could prove crucial in their survival. This time, however, he used his Loot Keeper's Timepiece that he could use once a day!

[ Do you want to retrieve the loot? ]

"Yes."

[ You have earned 55 Experience Points. ]

[ Loots obtained: 2 Item Upgrade Crystals, 2 Zombie Cores, 2 Bread, 100mL Tyrant Zombie Blood, 1 Spirit Enhancement Bottle, Corrupted Hearthstone ] x5

"Hearthstone?" Shane muttered as he wasn't sure what it was. This was the first time he had seen such an item. Then, Shane checked it out in his inventory to confirm its item description.

[ Corrupted Hearthstone: A pulsating crystal infused with corrupted energy, said to be the heartstone of a fallen Tyrant Zombie. This ominous artifact exudes an aura of malevolence and decay, capable of corrupting the life force of those who come into contact with it. It can be used for crafting mystical objects. ]

"I guess we need someone who can really craft in the shelter soon..." Shane muttered after seeing the hearthstone...

He didn't dwell on it too much as he looked around the area.

Indeed, after securing the spoils from the fallen Tyrant Zombies, Shane's curiosity led him to investigate the area further, determined to uncover the mystery behind the presence of the formidable undead in that secluded spot.

Perhaps it was his intuition but he believed that those Tyrant Zombies wouldn't stay here without any reason.

Soon, his keen eyes scanned the surroundings, searching for any clues that might shed light on the puzzling situation.

"Help me look for something unusual..."

As Shane delved deeper into his exploration, he enlisted the help of his companions to scour the area for anything out of the ordinary.

Together, they combed through the undergrowth and peered into shadowed corners, their senses alert for any signs of hidden secrets waiting to be unearthed.

Luckily, their concerted effort bore fruit when a glint of metal caught Shinja's sharp eyes.

With a swift motion, he revealed a hidden alcove where a treasure chest lay nestled among the roots of an ancient tree.

This was no ordinary find—it was a Bronze Treasure Chest! Without a doubt, it was more valuable than the Wooden Treasure Chest he had found in the Crypt Crawler's Cave!
