Chapter 172: Assistance

Caw! Kru! Kyu!

There, his beloved pets rushed to greet him with their cutest sounds...

The first thing that he noticed was, of course, their size! Their growth was astonishing.

Frostbite, the Frost Wyrm, now boasted a crystalline hide that shimmered like diamonds under the fairy realm's mysterious sun. Its small wings fluttered gently, stirring a cool breeze that carried the scent of winter.

Sylvan, the Basic Spriggan, had sprouted to a decent height, its bark-like skin now etched with glowing runes. Moss and small flowers adorned its shoulders, and its eyes, deep and green, held the wisdom of the forest.

Sparky, the Thunderbird, crackled with electric fervor. Its feathers seemed to be capable of summoning lightning bolts. They sparked with energy, and its eyes flashed with the intensity of a tempest.

Blaze, the Fire Elemental, was a dancing inferno, its form was more defined and fierce. Flames licked at its core, casting a warm, inviting glow, while its movements left trails of embers in the air.

"Awesome... You guys are supposed to be common pets... But you look so awesome now." Shane commented.

When he hatched them, they were only the size of his palm. However, they have already become five times bigger!

Shane then shifted his attention to his side.

There was Emberwing, the Fire Kea. Its plumage was now a brilliant spectrum of reds, oranges, and yellows, like the dying light of a sunset.

It looked really beautiful, and Shane could tell that this bird had really grown a lot, as if it was already two years older!

It then soared above him and circled a few times to show its excitement... Its call was also a melody to Shane's ears.

Before Shane could take it all in, Axis, the Fairy and caretaker of this enchanted land, appeared.

Her wings, delicate and iridescent, fluttered rapidly as she hovered before Shane, a smile gracing her lips.

Her eyes darted to the map, confirming the yellow dot's disappearance.

"Weird...

She was indeed surprised, but her trust in Shane's capabilities quelled any rising panic.

She immediately checked to see that Shane was still in the chat and friend list! It means that he was still alive!

"Right... He's indeed in the chat... Did he disappear using a special skill? Or maybe it was his talent?" Jaxon murmured as he thought of the possibilities.

"I think it's better to ask someone." Lyra added.

Since they were seeking answers, they turned to Mr. Wadsworth, the butler, whose calm demeanor suggested a man unfazed by the mysteries of their world.

"Mr. Wadsworth, where might Shane be? His presence seems to have vanished from our map..." Lyra inquired, her tone laced with curiosity rather than alarm.

The butler adjusted his glasses, a gesture that seemed to prelude his well-measured words.

"Ah, Master Shane did mention an errand of importance. He shall not return until the stroke of midnight..." he informed them, his voice was as smooth and calm as before.

Jaxon and Lyra exchanged a glance, their curiosity piqued, but their worries were appeased.

They decided to await Shane's return and hoped that he could satisfy their curiosity.

Anyway, once their meal concluded, they approached Mr. Wadsworth again.

"We wish to contribute to the estate. What tasks can we take?" Jaxon asked, his hands ready to work... He didn't want to be a burden on this estate after all.

Furthermore, he felt that there was something terrifying hiding in this estate, and he wanted to investigate a little.
