The zombies from the second horde hadn't been completely defeated yet when Shane heard Cloud's warning.
"Are they bringing their horde to us?" Shane frowned as he already knew about this tactic. It was something that happened in the first Zombie Wave where they cleared the zombie horde meant for other Survivors.
Anyway, Shane didn't panic since they were even prepared to face Zombie Waves for ten or more hours.
Soon, the Elves also noticed the movement of the rushing zombies from afar. Their senses were as sharp as ever.
It was followed by Gene and Lucas, who were both on the watchtowers. They then used their binoculars and saw the approaching group of Survivors and the zombie horde behind them!
"This..." Gene was shocked at what he saw.
Shane's warning at them had been correct—another group of desperate Survivors, fleeing the surge of Zombie Wave, had sought refuge at their stronghold. That shouldn't be a problem in normal cases since they have accepted other people already.
However, these newcomers were not mere refugees; they carried danger with them, a horde of undead chasing after them!
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Gene swiftly swung the bell's clapper with urgency.
The metallic clangs reverberated, alerting everyone within the ramparts. The defenders—Super soldiers, Elves, and all the battle-hardened survivors—made haste to eliminate the remaining zombies from their wave.
A few of them were a bit nervous... Since they felt that if they faced the horde meant for others, they would waste plenty of time, and they may no longer have a chance to eat since their next horde might arrive before they could eliminate the ones brought by the fleeing Survivors!
"Hmph! We're going to kill all of them!" Lady Seraph shouted to boost their morale as she noticed her team feeling nervous... They had certainly prepared for this scenario, but reality still sent shivers down their spines. It would be a problem if they didn't get the 15 to 30 minutes of rest they needed every after a horde was cleared...
"Let's quickly finish them up..." Shane shouted as he made his move.
He sprinted toward ramparts and looked at the remaining zombies of their horde—limping, decayed, and some Flashers who were hoping to blind him...
He ordered to quickly eliminate those clinging at their palisade while he focused on those behind them.
After a while, the Survivors from the Tree Houses, led by Elsa and Lily arrived.
Shane recognized them, so he was a bit unsure of what to do with them... He was initially planning to deny them entry, but looking at their weary faces and pleading eyes. He felt a bit different. Furthermore, he realized that there were only 10 of them right now...
It means that during this Zombie Wave, about half of them had died in the process of fleeing.
Cassius then waited for Shane's instructions on whether to open the gate or not.
After taking a deep breath, Shane made his decision...
"If you want to receive our protection, you have to tell us later all your skills and talents. Furthermore, you will be checked by our physician to see if you have any form of injuries and have already been infected by the Zombies." Shane shouted for the ten people to hear.
Lily and Elsa didn't think that Shane's demand was huge at all. As a matter of fact, Lily and Elsa, the two beautiful leaders of the tree houses shelter, were prepared to offer their bodies to Shane if he requested.
That was why the two of them felt a bit surprised after hearing his words... They didn't even have a chance to plead with him to take them inside the estate's walls!
"We agree to all your demands! Please help us!" Lily shouted.
The others, on the other hand, were surprised as they saw the estate.
Their eyes widened as they took in the stronghold—the barricades, the cracked Aegis Force Barrier, the huge Super Soldiers, the watchtowers, and the elves moving swiftly were a sight to behold.
They ran without any breaks for less than an hour, and what they just wanted now was a safe place to rest. The secured walls of Shane's estate were certainly a perfect place to do so.
Seeing that they have no objections.
Shane signaled Cassius to open the gates...
"Welcome," he said, his voice steady. "You're safe here."
The newcomers—worn, traumatized—nodded and weakly thanked Shane's decision to save them... Seeing the opening gates, some of them started tearing up as they realized that they still had a chance to survive...
