With Raze's current abilities, it shouldn't be easy to deal with a leader zombie without Roan's assistance.
Nonetheless, she didn't back out and aim to fight it alone. She wanted to see whether she had enough skills to fight against a mid-tier Leader Zombie alone.
Graahh~
The Crypt Crawler Leader's mouth was huge. The creature's eyes also glowed in red, and its hiss echoed through the cavern...
Raze tightened her grip on her enhanced blade.
Pouring Spirit Points into it, the sword hummed in response, and its burning effect started activating... She had faced formidable Zombies before—Alpha Wolf, Tyrant, and even a Giant Zombie—but this Crypt Crawler Leader was different since they were fighting in a limited space, and it was also faster as it was currently in its home ground.
The creature then pounced towards Raze, but she didn't fight back and dodged it. As she moved, her boots scraping against the rocky floor. She studied her opponent and found a few spots where she could pierce the Zombie. Furthermore, as she avoided its strikes, she realized the rhythm of its attacks.
'It's fast but it can't turn around quickly...' Raze mused as she realized one of the weaknesses of the Zombie.
After learning this, she immediately knew what she had to do...
Clang!
After blocking its grab, Raze waited for its another attack and ducked under a swipe!
This was an opportunity as her blade sliced across its abdomen. Green and black liquid and other matter sprayed out, but the creature didn't falter.

It wasn't enough to kill a Leader Zombie.
Again and again, they clashed—sword against its tough body!
"Why are you so tough?!" Raze couldn't help but complain since the Zombie was already bleeding all over its body but it was simply not dying at all. She also wanted to destroy its brain but its skull was too tough and Raze was smaller too. Reaching the skull wouldn't be easy since the Zombie was still quick and could avoid fatal strikes!
It was definitely intelligent, unlike the other Crypt Crawlers who had no idea how to protect themselves and could only advance and attack.
'Something feels wrong... This Zombie feels too strong...' Raze couldn't help but frown. However, the mission only said that they would be fighting a Crypt Crawler Leader Zombie. So she shouldn't be struggling like this...
'Wait... Where is the unknown Zombie?' Raze thought as she recalled the missing Zombie... She just thought that it might be in another cavern or tunnel, but it seemed that this Zombie was just hiding right now.
At this time, Raze's muscles felt sore, and her breath ragged.
It didn't take long before the battle ended.
Lyra grinned as she knew that the Experience Points of these Zombies would be quite decent.
"Not bad for a day's work." She said.
Kael tended to a minor wound and nodded.
Tessa, on the other hand, wiped her daggers and looked around. After all, she knew that this wasn't all to it.
Jaxon gazed into the darkness and frowned. With his Foresight, he could somehow feel the presence of the final Zombie.
"There's a hidden path there... Deeper in the mine. That's probably where we could find the Unknown Zombie."
Raze nodded. "We'll explore further. But for now, let's loot these Zombies and rest since we use many of our Spirit Points."
Everyone agreed since their Spirit Points hadn't even exceeded 1,000 Points, unlike Shane, who had already reached 10,000 Points.
Thankfully, the mission doesn't have a time limit, and they could take their time to rest and tend to their wounds.
Raze nodded. "Let's proceed. Roan will guide us."
Roan, the young dragon, led them through the narrow tunnel.
As they got closer, they noticed that the walls had changed from being rocks to well-cemented ones! Everyone was confused, but there was no time to think about this change.
The group moved in silence as they felt curious what kind of Zombie they'd face this time.
And then they saw it—a well-dressed zombie. Its tattered lab coat hung over a crisp white shirt, and round eyeglasses perched on its nose. The creature's skin was pale and almost rotten as veins visible beneath the surface. Its eyes, though vacant, held a spark of intelligence.
"What the heck..." Lyra whispered. "What kind of zombie wears glasses?"
"This is ridiculous... Perhaps a scientist?" Kael muttered after realizing that the room was like a laboratory...
Tessa's daggers glinted. "Whatever it is, it's not attacking."
She was ready to kill this Zombie, but something unexpected happened.
At first, the Zombie was simply looking at them. Then, without a word, it fled through another secret tunnel.
Raze's instincts flared. "After it!"
