Chapter 1916 - 1916 Counterattack

1916 Counterattack

Anthea thought for a moment and roughly guessed what had happened. She couldn’t help but feel a little shocked.

She couldn’t imagine the foolish imperial uncle suddenly having a revelation or possessing the audacity to tear up the cooperation with the Holy Court and launch an attack against them.

Undoubtedly, something unexpected had taken place on the city wall!

Undead?

Had the undead already managed to breach the interior of the military fortress?

Regardless, continuing to engage with the undead was not aligned with the interests of the Jones Kingdom.

Anthea speculated and decisively gestured, “We’re leaving!”

She led the heavy-armored knights, rallying them to head towards another military fortress.

“When you can’t face a threat, is it wrong to evade it?”

Regardless of the specifics of what transpired on the city wall, the overarching situation outside had been decided. The Holy Court’s side had lost its combat strength. Under the current circumstances, the priority was to secure living forces, find refuge in a military fortress, and wait for the situation to settle before emerging.

On the city wall, Fang Heng nodded in satisfaction as he watched the Holy Paladin outside being devoured by the magical crystal cannons and zombies.

In this situation, even if the Jones Kingdom wished to continue collaboration with the Holy Court, the Holy Court’s members would likely be unwilling, right?

“Very well, you can open the city gates now. I’ll go deal with the Holy Court’s people. I would appreciate it if you all could stay here for the time being. Is that acceptable?”

The imperial uncle nodded repeatedly. “Alright, alright…”

Fang Heng nodded in the direction of the others from the Jones Kingdom, then continued his rush towards the teleportation passage.

Two minutes prior, Bishop Kotter had just led the Holy Court to eliminate two undead bone leaders blocking the teleportation passage. He hurriedly arrived at the teleportation passage area to reinforce.

Seeing the undead creatures engaged in battle with the Holy Court guards outside the teleportation zone, Kotter breathed a sigh of relief.

Luckily, they arrived in time.

Only a small group of undead creatures had infiltrated the military fortress, possibly utilizing some unknown method to breach the defenses.

The situation was still manageable!

Bishop Kotter was grateful that he had left a contingent of Holy Court guards to vigilantly watch over the teleportation passage. This prevented the undead from successfully infiltrating.

At least the teleportation passage established by the Holy Court remained secure!

“Bishop Kotter!”

Several players on the relevant mission were presently safeguarding the teleportation area. Seeing the sudden appearance of undead creatures, they were frightened. Now, with Bishop Kotter rushing back for support, they breathed a sigh of relief.

“Charge! Eliminate them!”

Kotter waved his hand, leading his squad to handle this batch of undead. Besides the two undead bones leaders, there were also a few Lickers and zombie creatures surrounding the teleportation passage.

It was a very challenging situation!

It required time and patience to handle.

Kotter, while leading his team to attack the undead bones leader, suddenly observed several players ahead showing expressions of astonishment.

“Bishop Kotter! Watch out!”

Upon hearing this, Bishop Kotter’s pupils quickly constricted, and he swiftly turned around.

“Swoosh! Swoosh!”

Several thick soul chains thrust toward him.

Kotter tightly gripped the holy scepter with both hands, slamming it forcefully onto the ground, and shouted, “Glory!”

Whoosh!

A dazzling light radiated from the holy scepter!

“Bang! Bang!”

The black soul chains smashed with the light shield, unleashing dark ripples before being forcefully repelled by the radiant barrier.

As the light subsided, Bishop Kotter stared at the young man approaching him step by step, his eyes filled with profound surprise.

“Fang Heng.”

Fang Heng?

How could it be him?

The few players from the Holy Court who had stayed behind to guard the teleportation passage looked as if they had seen a ghost upon observing Fang Heng!

When did Fang Heng infiltrate the fortress?

The players exchanged glances, noting the fear in each other’s eyes.

They had received a faction quest.

It was rated as an SSS-level mission by the game.

Kill or capture Fang Heng…

The difficulty was evident.

Now that Fang Heng was right in front of them, no one wanted to complete the mission.

They had initially come to assist in passing on information online and offline, managing to deceive some mission points and friendship points from the Holy Court.

However, they were not up for the challenging task of killing Fang Heng.

As the players saw Fang Heng approaching, they instinctively took a few steps back, seeking refuge behind the Holy Court guards.

Fang Heng’s gaze was icy. He looked up at Bishop Kotter and uttered coldly, “Bishop Kotter, nice to meet you. I’m in a hurry, so I’ll cut to the chase. Now, I can ask you to die.”

“You think you can do it alone?!”

Kotter stared at Fang Heng, infuriated by Fang Heng’s disdain. “Fang Heng, I admit I underestimated you earlier. I didn’t expect you to come this far. But trying to take on the Holy Court with just your strength? Isn’t that too arrogant? I’ll give you a chance. Come back to the Holy Court with me now…”

“My strength?” Fang Heng glanced at Kotter, prompting him to pause.

Then, a creaking sound from not far away caught their attention.

Turning their heads towards the military fortress gate behind them, the expressions of Kotter and the guards of the Holy Court changed drastically!

The city gate was opening.

At some unknown point, a massive horde of zombies had silently gathered outside the fortress!

When did this happen?

With the presence of magicite cannons and the Holy Court team outside, how could the undead creatures infiltrate the defensive line so quickly?

Cold sweat dripped down Kotter’s back. Before he could comprehend the situation, the multitude of zombies advanced through the opened city gate, flooding back into the fortress!

In an instant, the zombies surged into the military fortress, converging around the entrance of the teleportation passage, and covering a large area.

“Fang Heng…”

Kotter clenched his fists tightly, his gaze fixed on Fang Heng. However, he suddenly observed that the guards from the Jones Kingdom surrounding him had no intention of assisting in subduing Fang Heng. Instead, they congregated on the city wall, observing from a distance, appearing unwilling to intervene.

Could it be…?

At that moment, Kotter realized something, and his heart sank.

“Did Fang Heng intentionally lead me here and he went to deal with the imperial uncle from the Jones Kingdom?” Kotter thought.

D*mn it!

How did this happen?

Kotter felt once again outsmarted by Fang Heng!

Yet, he couldn’t fathom how Fang Heng had achieved this!

How did he suddenly materialize within the military fortress?

In fact, from beginning to end, he single-handedly handled to completely reverse the situation…

“Fang Heng, have you considered the consequences of your actions?” Kotter forced himself to calm down, raising his head to look at Fang Heng and saying in a deep voice, “Even the undead lack the courage to engage the Holy Court directly. Killing me won’t alter the outcome. It will only enrage the Holy Court completely…”
