Chapter 2265 Nurturing
“Fang Heng, to be honest, this mission isn’t simple,” Ovi sounded somewhat worried as he continued, “The sapling of the sacred tree sustained some damage during the teleportation process, and fully restoring it might not be easy.”
[Hint: The player has triggered mission-Sapling cultivation.]
Mission name: Sapling cultivation
Mission description: Ovi has undertaken the task of cultivating the sapling of the sacred tree. Please assist Ovi in completing the cultivation of the sapling.
Mission requirements: Within 30 days, increase the cultivation level of the sacred tree sapling by at least 20%.
Current cultivation level increased: 0%.
Additional description: The current sapling of the sacred tree is partially damaged. The efficiency of raising the cultivation level will be affected.
“Alright, let’s take it slow.”
Fang Heng glanced at the hint. He shrugged it off. He didn’t feel any pressure. Cultivating the sacred tree sapling wasn’t something he cared about. Instead, he saw it as an opportunity to understand how the sacred tree was cultivated. Perhaps he could gain some benefits from it, or even find a way to drain the entire sapling of its strength!
As they spoke, the two arrived at the sacred tree cultivation area within their clan.
“We’re here. Let’s report to Elder Yuri.”
“Okay.”
They entered the hall of cultivation.
Elder Yuri inspected the damaged sapling of the sacred tree several times and shook his head, saying, “The situation is dire. The sapling has been partially damaged, which will greatly affect its efficiency in absorbing dimensional strength.”
“To solve this…”
Elder Yuri furrowed his brows, shaking his head. He said, “It’s difficult. It will take time to recover…”
Twenty minutes later, Ovi and Fang Heng bid farewell.
Leaving the hall, they exchanged a smile, both showing resignation.
Elder Yuri had given them many instructions and details on taking care of the sapling, but overall, the sapling’s condition was still compromised. They could only overcome the difficulties.
“Let’s give it a try,” Ovi encouraged himself. “I’ll figure out how to gather the resources needed for the magic array reconstruction, and as for the white frost ore, Fang Heng, you’ll have to come up with more ideas.”
“Alright. A batch of ore is already on its way, but for the magic array reconstruction, I’ll need some time to think about it. We’ll also need to conduct some field tests later. When can we return to the Temple of Incantation?”
“We’ll leave this afternoon.”
“Ovi,” Fang Heng’s expression turned serious as he spoke, “I’ve thought it over carefully. If we want to rebuild the magic array and significantly improve its efficiency, what we have now is not enough. I need more support.”
“Okay, tell me what you need, as long as it’s possible for me to provide.”
“Alright,” Fang Heng nodded gently, continuing, “Firstly, I need to teleport the sapling of the sacred tree away from here…”
“What!?”
…
The next morning, Vannes personally escorted the sapling of the sacred tree from the headquarters of the tree spirit tribe to a temple located on the edge of the primeval forest, known as the Temple of Incantation.
Vannes thought the Great Elder and Ovi were both crazy. They actually believed this human’s nonsense! To enhance the efficiency of cultivating the sapling, they had agreed to Fang Heng transplanting the sapling of the sacred tree outside the headquarters to the Temple of Incantation.
In the past, the sapling of the sacred tree had always been tightly protected within the headquarters. It would only be temporarily removed in special circumstances, such as when Elder Farouk needed to take over the Wood tribe’s Temple of Incantation completely.
However, they encountered a major problem this time. After Vannes and two accompanying elders escorted the sapling into the Temple of Incantation and settled it, Vannes was even more surprised.
Wow. Things had already…
The members of the Leaf tribe were carrying out extensive reforms in the temple. It seemed like they were gearing up for a major confrontation.
Vannes waved for one of his subordinates to hand him the blueprints. Though he didn’t fully understand them, he was deeply impressed. The entire structure of the Temple of Incantation had been completely overhauled! After the renovations, there were more than ten additional rooms, each filled with various branch magic arrays.
Was this for real?
“Who authorized you to do this?”
Vannes surveyed the group.
The tribe members glanced at each other, shrinking their necks.
Ovi stepped forward and answered, “Elder Vannes, it was Fang Heng and me who developed the transformation plan. We are confident that we can complete it.”
Vannes stared at Ovi for a moment, suppressing the anger in his heart.
He really wanted to twist Ovi’s head open right now and see what was inside. Ovi must have been fooled by Fang Heng, actually believing in such a ridiculous plan.
Demolishing and rebuilding the Temple of Incantation? What a joke.
Did the magic arrays, passed down for tens of thousands of years in the Temple of Incantation, really need a human to come and overhaul them so drastically?
But he decided not to get angry. Vannes’ mind wasn’t on this matter anyway. Now that the sapling of the sacred tree had been safely escorted, he needed to hurry back to discuss with the Great Elder how to deal with the three major clans.
“Ovi, where’s Fang Heng?”
“He’s temporarily gone, heard he’s preparing for the next batch of white frost ore needed for teleportation.”
“Okay.”
As Vannes was about to leave after finishing his instructions, Ovi stepped forward and handed him a list, “Elder Vannes, we will be carrying out most of the construction on the temple. During this time, we’ll need Life Leaves and many rare ores. We need the support of the tribe.”
Vannes took the list and looked at the densely packed rare materials, feeling a headache coming on. He didn’t understand most of it, but he could recognize a few of the highly valuable materials listed.
Upon seeing the list that required over twenty Life Leaves, Vannes immediately thought of Fang Heng and asked, “Ovi, do you realize the value of these materials?”
“I understand, but the transformation of the magic array requires these materials,” Ovi replied.
“You haven’t been deceived by that kid Fang Heng, have you? I warned you to be careful.”
Before Ovi could continue arguing, Vannes raised his hand and said, “Alright, I understand. I can’t make decisions on this matter. I will report to the elders. You may go now.”
Once Ovi left, Vannes nodded and instructed the two remaining Leaf tribe elders who were tasked with watching over the sapling of the sacred tree, “Elders, please keep a close eye on Fang Heng while I’m away. If he shows any signs of unusual behavior, notify me immediately.”
“Understood.”
Meanwhile, Fang Heng had already left the primeval forest and returned to OmniTech Company, where he was researching several related magic arrays with Cleriway and the team, attempting to create a Temple of Incantation similar to the one they discussed.
Progress was swift, but the biggest issue lay with Abe Akaya.
Abe Akaya’s current abilities were limited and insufficient to support the construction of the Temple of Incantation.
After observing for a while, Mo Jiawei suggested, “Since the sapling of the tree spirit tribe’s sacred tree can undergo corporeal and corporal separation, does Abe Akaya possess a similar ability?”
“We’ve tried, but Abe Akaya doesn’t have this inherited ability.”
