There were many talents in Glory that could play in multiple positions.
For example, the medicine warlock could be played as a mid-lane hero or support. For example, the death knight could be played in the top-lane or in the jungle. Even amongst the hunters, there were also talents that could be played in either the mid-lane or bottom lane.
The talents were diverse, and the line-up possibilities were infinite. The positions were inanimate, but the players were alive, and this was what made the tactics so interesting.
The puppet warlock was one of the flexible talents. When used in the mid-lane, it could control and deal DPS, and it wasn’t weak at providing support. When it was used for the support position and switched out its gear for tank gear, it could tank damage, exert control, and provide DPS that other support talents couldn’t match.
Naturally, a talent as flexible as the puppet warlock also had its disadvantages. One was the difficulty level in operating it––not only did it require high hand speed and micro operations, it also depended on strategic awareness and an overall view of the situation. Second, it was difficult for people to find its balance––it wasn’t as tanky as a real tank, its control wasn’t as reliable, and its DPS fell short of a real DPS talent.
Every talent had its good and bad points. How it was evaluated all depended on a team’s tactics.
3U had taken the puppet warlock for Cong Yi, and it was clear that they planned to use it for the support position.
However…
“Cong Yi’s really been a bit buried.”
“His personal level is very high. Those who’ve seen his single queue live broadcasts can all see it clearly. He dares to use anything.”
“It’s not like Brother Cai’s type of daring to use anything, right…”
When Bai Cai live streamed, he was often left barely scraping out a living; especially before Wei Xiao had joined the team. It was normal to have jungler kings spoil the vegetable, and Bai Cai could use the lolita fire mage to support a jungle king and still win the game.
“I’m sorry, let me correct my words. It’s not that he dares to use anything, but that he can use anything.”
“He’s that amazing?”
“Of course, he’s not an all-rounder king like Close and Quiet, but his warlocks and mages are all played pretty well.”
“Just looking at his hand speed when he plays the elemental shaman is enough to show that he’s not the average player.”
“So, why is Cong Yi playing support?”
“What’s wrong with playing the support position? A support position player can also be given god status!”
“Don’t mention that rogue Yan, okay? He’s disgusting.”

Yan Jiang was a harbinger of bloody storms and could instantly cause the scrolling comments to tear into each other.
The BP ended, and both sides’ line-ups were determined. The fourth match of the national semi-finals began!
The talents that FTW took inspired the commentators to say a lot.
“The tide warrior hasn’t been seen for a long time. Has Close ever used it in singles?”
“Close hasn’t used it much, but I heard that Marshal in North America has used it often recently.”
“Speaking of which, Close was always following L&P’s training matches when he was treating his shoulder.”
“It seems that he’s making use of what he’s learned!”
Since Yuan Ze was another harbinger of bloody storms, the commentators didn’t dare to mention him too much. They only mentioned him briefly, then let the topic slide.
Not only had Lu Feng taken the tide warrior, but Wei Xiao’s phantom thief, Yue Wenle’s longbow druid, and Bai Cai’s apocalypse priest, and even Ning Zhehan’s cat engineer all made the audience feel like they were seeing something fresh and new.
“So, this is why I just like to watch FTW play. They dare to use anything and can pull out all sorts of tricks. Their line-ups aren’t limited, and they’re not dependent on any talent.”
“Unlike some other teams who only have one or two routines. Don’t they find it boring to use the same thing every day?”
“There’s also a certain crying team who hides all the time and doesn’t let anything see the light. Who knows if they even have anything solid.”
This implication was a little too obvious, and the live broadcast room that had only just finished banning one set of keywords now did another round of bans.
Some people had fair evaluations. “To be honest, the reason FTW has so many line-ups isn’t because their coaching team is amazing. It’s because Close and Quiet’s hero pools are too deep, okay?”
This was the so-called ‘even a clever woman can’t cook a meal without rice’. Coach Chen Feng was very capable, but if a player had only mastered one or two heroes, then there would be limits to his tactical thinking no matter how amazing it was.
In comparison, 3U’s line-up was a little more old-fashioned.
Asleep was in the first position and snatched up the berserker thief, while Xuan Long took the divine warrior. Wen Wei took the frost hunter that Yue Wenle had used in the previous match, and only Cong Yi’s choice was a bit more notable, having taken the puppet warlock.
No matter how the audience complained that it was boring, 3U’s line-up this time was absolutely serious.
A jungler core, double support, and strong control.
3U’s intentions were obvious––this was a battle where they’d cut off all means of retreat!
As they entered the game, Bai Cai said, “I’ll follow you first.”
He was speaking to Wei Xiao. In this game, Asleep would definitely go for their jungle zone. He’d taken the berserker thief and was followed by two support talents; he’d have to be stupid not to go into his enemy’s jungle zone.
Wei Xiao didn’t refuse him. He said decisively, “We’ll go across directly.”
Asleep would definitely enter their jungle zone, and defending it was only a short term solution. When it came to an early fight, FTW’s line-up didn’t have any major advantages.
A berserker thief with a divine warrior and puppet warlock supporting it was enough to hammer through the canyon before they reached level three.
Instead of going up against them head on, it was better to exchange resources. Let alone when FTW’s side had a great demon king…
Wei Xiao’s voice was as sweet as honey. “Captain~”
Even Brother Cai couldn’t understand what he meant with this call, all the way until he pulled down the minimap and found that Close, who was on the top lane, had defended their own little eagle.
Brother Cai: “……”
Alright, then. You two husbands have a soul level tacit understanding that generates endless amounts of dog food! Are you done yet!
Wei Xiao immediately cleared out 3U’s bottom jungle zone, and Asleep cleared out FTW’s upper jungle zone. Unfortunately, the little eagle closest to the top lane had been taken away by Close, so 3U made a small loss in this transaction.
After trading jungle zones, Asleep and Cong Yi were obviously ready and itching to start a fight.
Wei Xiao spoke as he cleared out his own bottom jungle zone, “Be careful, Little Ning.”
Ning Zhehan’s cat engineer was a long-distance and agile mage talent. It was very suited to providing support everywhere, provided that it didn’t get ambushed.
Ning Zhehan: “Yes!”
He retreated cautiously as he spoke, no longer daring to pressure the other side’s ice mage too much. Unexpectedly, a whish sounded out by his ear. Ning Zhehan’s heart chilled, but his flash was half a second slower than Asleep’s scythe. Ning Zhehan sucked in a breath even as he was pulled away from the safety of the tower. “Berserker thief!”

His flash activated, and he pulled away from Asleep again. Unfortunately, Cong Yi’s puppet warlock had already placed a puppet on his body, and Ning Zhehan, who’d escaped from the berserker thief’s attack range with much difficulty, found himself running back under the puppet’s control.
The puppet warlock’s first skill was to create a puppet that could control another player. It could be manipulated for two seconds after being used on an enemy.
But these two seconds were deadly.
The berserker thief’s black scythe locked around the little cat’s throat and harvested his life like a harbinger of death.
System Announcement––
3U.Sleep killed FTW.Silvery!
Finally!
In the fourth match, 3U took First Blood for the first time.
They’d snatched away that first kill from Close’s hands!
Xuan Long was almost about to cry, “Badass, captain!”
Even if he was about to get killed by Close, he could die satisfied!
If he was the one to send out First Blood for every match in this game, he would have to punish himself for his crimes after going back to the base tonight!
Wei Xiao coaxed Little Ning, “Little kitty, don’t cry. Big brother will get revenge for you later.”
Ning Zhehan: “…………”
Bai Cai: “………………”
Close killed Xuan Long.
Wei Xiao choked and said quickly, “About that, your Brother Yue will get revenge for you, okay?”
Yue Wenle: “???”
Wei Xiao: “I can’t do it, I’m just a little phantom, the type who needs the tide daddy’s protection.”
The tide warrior (Close) killed the ancient creature.
Wei Xiao was scared, very scared. He was very scared that he wouldn’t be allowed to climb into the big, soft bed in the guest room tonight…
Although FTW had lost First Blood, and although FTW was at a bit of a disadvantage in this match, thanks to Wei Xiao’s messing around, to hell with being down! Ning Zhehan had already forgotten how he’d died!
Had he given out First Blood?
Who’d done it?
He didn’t remember!
xiin: little Ning’s so cute, lol
