[Three days later.]
Shin lay doing pushups on the training grounds that the king allowed him to use.
"100!" Shin finished his push-ups and got to his feet. He began to dust off his hands and clothes, and his next destination was the library "Leo should have the book by now" he said walking into the palace. as he walked he began to notice how much more toned albeit only a little, but more toned then one should be after 3 days of exercise.
"Could it be the system or just me?" Shin pondered this for a while as he walked into the library "What is this system doing to me exactly. Am I going to become a monster of flesh if I exercise too much?" His thoughts were interrupted by a big man with a grizzly beard and huge frame with a stoic expression.
"Are you Shin?" The man asked with a deep and rough voice. "Yes" Shin responded timidly. 'Did that munchkin send a guard' he thought. Surprisingly the man bowed to Shin and handed him a book. *Introduction to cultivation* "the prince told me to pass it along because he had business to attend to" The man said his arms behind his back. "Oh thank you" Shin said surprised. And with that the man bowed one more time and walked away. his visage disappeared into the distance.
Shin looked down at the book in his hands and felt a tingle of joy in his heart 'Finally' he thought. Shin retreated to his room and took out the book and began to read though it after a short while the system said.
[Would you like to learn this skill?]
"Yes" Shin responded almost instantly Shin could feel the light about to envelop him and the book began to move, but everything suddenly stoped Shin was dumbfounded.
[Cultivation of the skill failed. It is due to the body not being strong enough.] The system said.
Shin sat cross legged on the floor starring blankly at the wall on thought rang out from his head.
'This system is s**t' he thought with no emotion just blankly.
************
The King sat in the room with the round table and with Leo beside him.
The King looked at the prince and asked "what did you call me for?" "We need more blacksmiths" the prince Leo said with pleading eyes. *sigh*"Son I truly have no one to spare in my military, and not to mention how hard it is to learn. by the time they learn it will be to late for them to be useful." The King said dejectedly. Leo felt a surge of emotion. "Father you know just as well as I that without more blacksmith and enchanters we will be eradicated." The king could not retort What the boy said is true every word. The king sat there silently for a moment before speaking "I will call a meeting to discuss this."
" thank you" the prince said taking his leave. Once his son was out of view acetone held his head in his hands "I don't know what I'm gonna do."
**************
Downstairs Shin was still sitting blankly until he snapped out of it and began to think 'wait with the way I'm advancing right now it shouldn't be long before he reached the requirements of the system.'
Shin got up from his sitting position and stretched and said "I can do this" and walked outside to begin exercising again but was stopped at the door by none other then prince Cain "hello" Cain said in a dignified manner. "Oh hello prince Cain," Shin said condescendingly as Cain pushed Shin aside to enter Shins room. "I'd like to speak with you over the matter of what happened the other day" cain said with concern. "what about it?" Shin said while preparing for a fight. Cain sat down and asked "How did you dodge my attack?" "excuse me?" Shin said somewhat confused. "my attack in the library I was sure that would have killed you. You couldn't have known there was an icicle above you so how?"
"I have good reflexes." was the only response Shin could think up.
"No. That couldn't be not with my ability. Not even my father can sense my magic unless he hears me whisper and even then he doesn't know where it will come from because of my ability since my magic energy is almost invisible. You would have to be incredibly well versed in the arts of magic sensing more so then anyone I have met before." Shin sat silent he couldn't think of anything to say in return. Not without letting loose the secret of the system "or you are very sensitive to magic energy" Cain said pensively "But that would mean you are a very rare talent among talents" Cain talked to himself. Shin saw his chance to take advantage and get respect from the kid "Yes I am" Shin gave the boy look as if to say 'you figured me out'
[Attack Imminent.] The system said.
Shin dodged before he could figure out what was going on and saw an icicle impale the wall behind where he was "COULD YOU NOT." Shin screamed "SORRY. I just had to make sure" Cain waved his hands. "I apologize for what I just did and what I had done in the library." Cain was about to bow but Shin stopped him "enough of that. Why don't we be friends and call it even" Shin said this but intended to get payback when he got stronger "Don't get ahead of your self. I only apologized because I recognize your talent but until you can do something worthy oof my friendship. you are not my equal." with that Cain stood and left the room.
"what an a**hole" Shin said as he looked at the open doorway. "He's a shitty prince."
