Chapter 429: Visitor.

'Visitors?'

Cain frowned, "Where did they say they were from?"

Susan's face was impassive as she spoke,

"From the Western Island."

Cain was now intrigued. He had encountered people from the East Island, and they all turned out to be nutcases. Would these ones be any different?

"I just hope these guys aren't crazy too..."

Susan sighed, "Well don't get your hopes high."

Following her through the corridors of the broken building, Cain walked into a room at the end of the hallway. It was modestly cleaned up with a few chairs. There was a collection of Mutant Beast meat on a small table in front of a group of humans dressed in mostly white.

At the head of the group was a man dressed in leather armor with a pit h black fur coat sitting on his shoulders. The moment Cain stepped into the room, their eyes met.

Cain's eyes narrowed, 'This guy...'

Cain could sense a shard aura surrounding him. He stared at the black bastard sword hanging from his waist. The sword was just as dangerous as the man.

He could also sense the faint presence of Devil Essence from him. However, it wasn't much.

Meanwhile, Luke observed Cain the moment he stepped into the room. Although Cain had a scar across his face, he didn't look vicious. Instead, it added a sense of individuality and charm to him. It was certainly not common to see someone with such a scar.

However, Luke wasn't concerned about any of that. Instead,

'Fuck, fuck, fuck!' A cold sweat raced down Luke's back the moment he locked eyes with Cain.

'This guy isn't a human...' He glanced at Reginald and Winifred who were seated beside him. They both had the same look on their face. They looked like they were about to book it.

However, Cain's words froze them to the spot,

"Ehem... Who would have thought the survivors from the other side of the school would come here?"

Luke immediately composed himself, "I admit it is indeed a bit surprising. However, we come with good intentions."

Cain smiled, "Then let's exchange pleasantries. My name is Cain. Cain Lenosi. I was a student before all this..."

Luke frowned. The last name wasn't familiar to him.

"The name's Luke. Bastille Luke."

Winifred and Reginald also introduced themselves.

Cain nodded then turned to Susan. Seeing him move in close to whisper into her ears, a furious blush appeared on her face. Cain held onto her hand softly. However, his next words made her face turn serious.

"I see. I'll get going then." Susan siad. She stared at the group of visitors before walking out of the room.

Luke couldn't help but feel anxious, 'What the hell were they on about?!'

Cain then turned back to the visitors. He didn't know why someone else hadn't come to handle them. Someone like Jenny who had experience dealing with people.

Luke, Winifred and Reginald weren't the only ones there. They had brought a handful of people along with them. There was also the Beastmen guards at the other side of the door, ready to swoop in in the case of a disturbance.

"So, Luke... Why did you come here?"

Luke's face turned serious, "We've come on behalf of our leader."

Cain was surprised, 'He isn't their leader?'

"We've come here to initiate an alliance." Luke said with a frown.

Luke was a bit confused when Lukas had told him to come to the Central Island to meet with the new leader and get him to join them. He knew people who could use light magic were sometimes gifted with foresight if their affinity was enough. However, he had no idea how far ahead Lukas' foresight reached.

Cain's brow rose up, "An alliance?"

"Let's not pretend not to know what's going on, now. I'm talking about an alliance to fight against those red bastards."

Cain immediately understood what he was talking about. A wry smile appeared on his face,

"So you want our help in dealing with them?"

Luke shook his head, "We aren't asking for too much. The Followers of Blood are insane. However, they are being led by an even crazier individual. We need to stop them before they get out of hand."

Cain nodded, "I'm aware. However, I need you to get to the point. What exactly do you want?" He was too busy to be engaging in small talk.

"We plan on fully engaging with them soon. We hope you will join us when the time comes." Luke said with a hard face.

Cain fell silent as he tried to digest what Luke said. In fact, he knew forming an alliance was not a bad idea. It was a very good one in fact. Creating one would allow their casualties to be kept to a minimum.

Considering how stressed Hunter was getting every day, he would be doing him a very big favor. Since they had the highest population in this stretch of ocean, the Followers of Blood were quite bold. Anyone who wanted to face they should be prepared to face the dire consequences of being wiped out.

However, Cain felt suspicious. How did they know he was the leader? This was an island of Beastmen and women, Mutants as they like to calm themselves. It would be reasonable to believe that the leader of these Mutant humans would be a human as well.

However, they had personally come to seek him out.

'Do we have a spy? Still, it doesn't matter. They aren't outright hostile, so that isn't a bad thing.'

Cain eventually opened his mouth, "Let me ask you a question..."

Luke nodded, "Go ahead."

Cain's eyes turned frigid, "Why didn't your leader come himself?"

Luke seemed prepared for this, "He's been making plans for weeks on the upcoming attack. He's very busy."

Cain chuckled, "More important than seeking an ally? Well, I'm not going to hold him. I'll ask another question though... What's in it for you?"

Luke seemed taken aback, "What do you mean?"

Cain smiled, "You seem to hold a grudge against those red madmen. I'm just curious..."

Luke fell silent. Winifred's eyes were filled with a sharp glint as he pushed his glasses up, while Reginald gritted his teeth.

"We were originally from the Eastern Island before going to the west. Those bastards... They aren't human anymore. They are freaking animals." Luke said.

Winifred chimed in, "Any thing despicable and horrid you can think of, they've done that and exceeded your expectations."

The hatred burning in Luke's eyes was real...

Cain sighed. It was probably the same situation as with the Malcolm, Galip, and their men. They were probably carrying all sorts of evil acts out without fear of repercussions on the Eastern Island. That that was probably thanks to...

"Guy... He's strong. But he's also a perverted fool. All he thinks about is getting his dick wet. He has all the women that are still alive on the Eastern Island captive. He and his men..."

"Stop. I've heard enough." Cain interrupted.

This time, he let out an audible sigh. This was truly a messy situation.

"Honestly... I just got back. Can't you guys wait a little?" Cain said with a displeasure sigh.

Luke was confused. However, Cain didn't bother explaining,

"Look... Engaging in a fight right now will do us no good. I personally don't think you need us to deal with the Followers of Blood."

Luke contered Cain's words, "If we end up defeated, they will come for you all next. By then, it might be too late."

Cain rolled his eyes, "If they want to come, let them come. I'll send them back to where they came from. However, if you want us to fight for you, you have to give us a reason."

Reginald snorted as he glared at Cain, "Ha! And here I thought we'd he having a conversation with another human. Turns out this bastard is just as deluded as the other madmen!"

"Reginald!"

"What?! You know what I'm saying is the truth! He's talking about how they will benefit from helping us take those bastards out. You should be doing this because you are human! Those bastards, they don't treat others like they are humans. If you refuse to help us, you'll be just as bad as they are!"

Silence...

Nobody wanted to speak. Although they didn't say anything, Cain could see in the eyes of the other two that they felt the same way. S~eaʀᴄh the nôᴠel Fire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Cain simply let out a laugh,

"I can't tell if you are joking or not."

"Wha-?! You bastard!" Reginald saw red as he prepared to lunge at Cain. However, he was firmly restrained by Luke.

"Calm down!"

Cain paid him no mind as he stared at them,

"If you think this world is the same as it used to be, then I wish you luck."

Cain's wasn't angry at Reginald for his outburst. That was because he understood him. However, he also knew that from the words he bulky man spoke, he clearly didn't grasp the whole picture. As such, Cain decided to do them a favor.

"This world is no longer the same. We have to change, or the changes will destroy us. Call me crazy, but that's just the reality of our situation." Cain said with a frown.

"What the hell are you saying, huh?! Talk straight!" Reginald yelled with a glare.

Cain's frown because deeper, "I have nothing left to say. You can see yourselves out."

"Damn this guy!" Reginald spat as he Fred himself from Luke's grasp.

Luke sighed as he watched Cain get up from his chain and walk towards the door.

"Cain... I really hope you reconsider."

Cain waved his hand at him as he disappeared through the door.
