Chapter 69 Improved Body

He looked at this black, steaming gray thing that had accumulated in front of him after his vomiting had stopped and said, after wiping his mouth with the back of his arm.

''Is this waste that has accumulated in my body? I've seen such things in cultivation novels.''  Raydon considered. That was the only logical explanation he could come up with at the time. Right now, his body felt incredibly at ease. It appeared as though his breathing had changed and that all of his senses were at least two times more acute than before. Even his hearing and vision seemed to be a little bit better than before.

Raydon wondered if this was the hidden attribute of the body enchantment. If true, it was a perfect hidden attribute, and the only thing left now was to discover its disadvantage. Of course, there were rare body enchantments with little to no drawbacks, but they were extremely rare.

Raydon got to his feet, turned to face the mirror, and examined the changes to his body. He had lost another shade of color from his already pale skin. Also, compared to before, his skin appeared to be much smoother. There was also a grayish tint in his previously black pupils.

The black veins that extended from his chest, where his heart was, all the way up to his neck were the most noticeable change. Without knowing what it was, someone would undoubtedly assume it was a tattoo.

''There doesn't seem to be anything that will put me at a disadvantage. '' Raydon had not noticed any side effects that would cause his veins to freeze like ice veins or cause his skin to become dry and hard like bark skin. Everything seemed to be in perfect condition. He also checked his little friend under his boxer to make sure, and everything seemed fine there too.

''I'll probably find out if there are any negative effects over time,'' Raydon stated and made the decision to test the body enchantment's main feature.

He first used Blood Bat, which reduced his HP. After waiting and watching, he realized that his HP regen had indeed been cut in half. He used to regenerate 4 HP per minute, but now he only regenerates 2.

Then he used his hook skill, spent 1 MP, and resumed his observation. And it was effective. He really gained an extra 1 MP regen per minute. He would now gain 11 MP in 10 minutes instead of 1 MP at his previous rate.

''This is awesome,'' Raydon exclaimed. The MP issue was temporarily resolved in this manner.

Redressing once more, Raydon stepped outside to complete the following task for the day.

After some time, Raydon arrived at a neighborhood that appeared to be deserted and haunted. As if a war had been fought here, the area was littered with abandoned homes, smashed and damaged vehicles, and all kinds of trash. Aside from that, he noticed individuals aimlessly wandering the streets while completely cloaked from head to toe.

This place belonged to the Ashskin Gang headquarters, which controlled this region, based on the information Raydon looked up and found.

'According to them, this is where that item holder is.'  Raydon had spent the entire day gathering details about this ash gang and the item holder who was behind it. He had previously learned from Dan and others that this item holder was E-Rank, though they were unsure of that. Even though the general populace didn't know much about item holders, every rumor contained some element of truth.

The only reason Raydon came here was to confirm the rumors.

'I guess it's true that the item holder lives here, or the people here are just high on something.'  Raydon pondered as he observed the individuals who appeared to be soulless. He was aware of how out of the ordinary these people were.

As Raydon snuck through the shadows, a dilapidated old factory came into view. He murmured as he noticed the light coming from the factory's broken windows.

'This factory appears to be still in operation based on the smoke coming from the chimneys and the noise coming from inside. I think I'm in the right place. '

With the steps being quieter than the night, Raydon made his way to the factory.

"Master, the subjects that were included in the most recent delivery were also all consumed. Additionally, the men who were dispatched into the field to gather fresh subjects started behaving strangely. As if… '' The burly man, who had a large scar on his forehead that looked like a hole, knelt and reported emotionlessly. Although he appeared bulky, the man's skin appeared severely dry and discolored.

He looked up as he was speaking and saw a face with flabby gray skin, some white hair falling on it, and a few teeth in the mouth.

''As if? Kahkahk, Yes, their time has come as well. Call back those who are acting strangely and make them wait. I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake you did and get shot in the head with a bullet. It's also best not to mess with that crazy battle maid. Make sure you warn others to stay away from that maniac maid's friends' territory.'' Herman said.

The bowing man's body twitched for a moment when he heard the word "bullet," but he quickly returned to normal and carried on. ''Yes, sir, what are we going to do with that item holder who killed me? ''

Herman answered the man's question with a frown. '' Hmm? You're already dead, but can you still feel resentment? Interesting. I should take note of this. Also, as for that item holder, forget it. He was most likely just a bystander, and you poked him like a moron. I only want to concentrate on the experiment right now. Therefore, avoid taking actions that will put me in more trouble. ''

''Yes sir. '' Burly man, the now soulless body of the man Raydon had earlier shot and killed with a gunshot, said before getting up and leaving.

Unbelievably, looks like he somehow came back to life.
