Chapter 79 [Bonus ] The Stupid Pride Of The Solo Player

He then got to work after pulling out his dismantling knife. Fishmen's items could have waited a little longer. After all, there was nothing nearby that could steal them from Raydon. At least, that's what he thought...

He disassembled the spider and took its valuable parts before putting everything in his dimensional storage and walking to the location where the Fishmen died to collect the items.

But when Raydon arrived at the location where he was certain the Fishmen were dead, he found nothing.

"What the heck? " Raydon, shocked, went to the location where the next Fishman died but found nothing there either.

''Where??!! Where are the items supposed to be dropped? '' Raydon went mad when he couldn't find anything on the ground. They must have dropped something—even if it was trash.

After spending some time searching, Raydon noticed that the area where the Fishman should have perished and the item should have dropped was a little fluffy. He finally spotted a fan on the ground as he turned his attention to the last and final dead Fishman.

''At the very least, I found one.'' When he ran to get the item, the ground pierced in front of his eyes, revealing a brown worm that was at least three times bigger than him swallowing the item.

''Y-Y-YOU FUCKER!!! ''

When Raydon witnessed this scene taking place in front of him, he went insane. He was furious and pulled his crossbow from his dimensional storage when he understood that the worm had eaten the items he couldn't find earlier. He shot an arrow at the worm while its head was still on the ground.

The arrow was launched from a short distance and flew through the air, striking the worm's head and rebounding.

''What in the world?!'' Raydon was taken aback by how tough the worm's soft-looking skin was. When the worm noticed Raydon, it turned to look at him with absent eyes before jumping and burrowing overhead back into the ground.

''No!!! You can't just take my things and run away.''

''Hook. ''

The hook shot out and became entangled on a bony spine that was extending backside from the worm's back.

Raydon grabbed hold of the rope and started to be dragged underground after the worm when he suddenly found himself unable to handle its strength.

'Shit, shit, shit. '

He was dragged behind Worm as he moved quickly beneath the ground, slamming into the nearby stones as they were moved.

In addition to hitting the surrounding stones, Raydon began to feel another pain, as if his skin was melting. Because of the darkness, he was unable to see what it was, but when he felt the breath he was trying to take burning in his throat, a thought suddenly came to him.

The burning sensation Raydon experienced was probably a poisonous gas that the worm left behind as it moved. He realized after looking at the system alerts that he was losing more and more HP.

'The duration of the hook is 10 seconds; if I try to hang on for that long, I will die. Should I give up? ' Raydon made a decision right away after a split-second of thought.

'Never!!! '

He was willing to sacrifice everything to keep the worm from taking his possessions. He had once again become foolish due to his pride as a solo player. However, he would never allow a mob to take something that belonged to him. That would be too embarrassing...

"If I can't get my items back, I'm taking you with me," Raydon quickly devised a strategy.

Without even looking at how many experience points he had, he opened his system and immediately pressed all of them to the stamina stat.

[Experience]: 2849/ 1.000.000

-Stamina - Cost: 65 exp.

Cost: 72 exp.

Cost: 80 exp.

*Ding*

Raydon heard the system message while increasing his stamina stat, but he chose to ignore it because he didn't have time to check it right now.

Cost: 256 exp.

Cost: 279 exp.

After Raydon gained 16 more stamina, his experience points were depleted. His pain from hitting the stones was completely gone. The melting sensation in his body now felt like itching. He even felt as if his wounds were beginning to heal.

'Now I'm hoping this gas is flammable. ' Raydon smiled and said with his half-melted mouth.

''Fire Kick. ''

*BOOOOOMMM*

When a small spark formed in Raydon's leg, he heard a brief, loud explosion and went unconscious.

A clear blue sky greeted Raydon when he opened his eyes once more. He straightened his back from his lying position, still holding his throbbing head, and muttered as he peered at the sizable crater next to him.

'I-I'm still alive, huh? ' As Raydon attempted to stand up, he became aware that something was missing and, with his vision still spinning, he looked down at his feet.

''Oh, damn, I don't have any feet.'' Raydon's right hip was completely gone, and his left leg appeared shattered. As if something had suddenly occurred to him, Raydon checked hastily for what should have been between his legs. When he saw what he was looking for—a sound and healthy little brother—he sighed in relief.

''I guess it's a small price to pay for a suicide mission,'' He said, looking at his rapidly healing wounds.

He only intended to kill the worm, and he made the decision to pay the price with his own life. However, it is clear that the stamina stat he had improved before his suicide mission was what kept him alive.

'Stamina couldn't have been the only thing that saved me from the explosion.' Raydon reflected as he looked down at his regenerating legs. He heard the system dinging earlier as he was increasing his stamina and decided to check it out while he waited.
