Chapter 85 [Bonus ] Results Of The Training

''Good. You are a quick learner. Hahah. Okay, get ready; we're leaving. Don't keep the boss waiting any longer.'' After the man had his men tie their victim's hands, they walked slowly out of the warehouse, before the eyes watching them full of tears and rage.

''Boss, I can't le…. '' Karan stopped Pana from shouting in frustration and sadness after all the men had left the warehouse.

''Don't worry, he won't let them go easily. '' Dan's blood-spattered hands caught Karan's attention as he said. The nails he dug into his palms revealed that he was not as calm as his expression suggested.

He knew that Dan, who he had known since childhood and who he had referred to as his brother for many years, wouldn't let them go so easily. And just as he had guessed, it happened.

Dan slowly turned around and asked in a serious tone while glancing at the nine people who were fortunately not selected, which included Karan, Sami, and Pana.

"Those who are afraid of death, please take a step back. "

Although Dan's voice appeared calm to the audience as he spoke, everyone understood what he was getting at. The calmness of his voice only hinted at the fury of the storm that would follow.

Dan took a quick look at the nine people who remained standing and instead turned to face him with intensely serious and animated eyes. ''Good. The time has come to see the effects of our training. ''

Dan and the others put on whatever dark-colored clothing they could find, grabbed their knives for a weapon, and stepped out of the still-steaming warehouse doors into the night like a panther stalking its prey.

"We will pray for your safe arrival." These young people were prepared to die, and the people who were left behind in the warehouse could only pray as they said goodbye to them.

"Be quick, the boss is waiting." Rayn heard the leader speaking as he and the others were being loaded into the back of a pickup. They had traveled a short distance after leaving the warehouse to where the armed men had parked their vehicles.

There was no sound besides the soft wind, the sounds of people getting into trunks, and the occasional spoken words of the masked leader. Rayn and others could hear their fast-beating hearts more clearly during this tense silence, which only increased their fear.

Everyone was getting ready to embark on their fate in this silence when Rayn heard a young man next to him ask him a question in a shaking voice.

''B-brother Rayn, we're going to die right? ''

Rayn turned to face the young man who had posed the question. His face was as pale as everyone else's. He was staring at Rayn with terrified eyes, clutching his hands to keep his body from shaking even slightly.

''I … '' Rayn attempted to respond to the question, but the moment he opened his mouth, he realized that his voice was trembling as well. The moment they stepped outside the warehouse door, everyone was ready to die. They assumed they would die eventually; now they were just unlucky, and death had come sooner than they had expected.

But they could not mentally convince themselves as they thought.

The fact that they believed they were prepared to die didn't stop them from being afraid and holding out hope.

For a brief moment, Rayn's vacant eyes shone, and he spoke, stifling his fear because of the glimmer of hope he carried. ''I think he will save us. ''

Upon hearing Rayn's words, everyone turned to face him in surprise. They knew who he was referring to.

With the hope that had just emerged in him, the young man's trembling subsided a little and he asked in a questioning tone. "B-but he said he won't fight with anyone other than the enemy item holder. "

After a brief moment of staring into the boy's eyes, Rayn turned to look at the other people who were nervously looking at him. No matter how untrue Rayn's next words might be, everyone was hoping to find hope in them. And so it was, the following words Rayn uttered were sufficient to make everyone temporarily forget their fear and cause their blood to boil.

''That's right, and that's why he trained ten of our brothers to fight these ordinary people. ''

''Leader, everyone is loaded into vehicles and ready to go.'' One of the masked men approached the masked leader and informed him.

''Good, finished ahead of schedule. I expected this job to be more difficult and bloody. Hahaha, '' The masked leader laughed joyfully and motioned with his hand for everyone to get into the vehicles.

The men started to slowly board the vehicles after seeing the leader's instructions when suddenly they heard an unfamiliar voice.

''Khagahkhh…''

*Tut*

It sounded like a cat vomiting a wool ball, followed by the sound of something falling to the ground. One of the masked men nearby directed his flashlight toward the sound, and upon seeing two of his friends lying in their blood with their throats cut, he immediately shouted.

''AMBUSH!!! ''

He then raised his gun,

''Aghh...''

and was about to shoot a pair of eyes he saw in the dark when he collapsed to the ground, screaming in pain, with a knife wound in his chest.

''Hey, thanks to you, they noticed us. Couldn't you be a little quieter? ''  After removing the knife from the man's chest, Karan spoke in a hushed tone to Fatty Sami, who was standing a short distance in front of him, before vanishing back into the shadows.

''Hey, it's not my fault, alright? My blunt knife was unable to make a clean cut through the man's pig-thick skin in one strike. Tch, additionally, he was even fatter than me.'' Fatty Sami attempted to reply before Karan snuck away, but when he saw that he had already left, he snapped his tongue and ran off to find his next victim.
