Chapter 94 [Bonus ] Element Of Death?

''Man, I really hope you're E-Rank,'' Raydon muttered, looking in the direction of the factory. He knew what rank the item holder was based on unfounded rumors he had heard, but after experiencing consecutive disappointments, his hopes began to fade. Like any die-hard gamer, all he wanted was to engage in a competitive fight.

''Anyway, there's probably no one else coming, so I'd better start moving,'' He said before leaving.

*Tut*

''Wha…''

*Tut*

Following the arrows that struck their heads, the two muscular men who were guarding the factory's gate fell to the ground one after the other. Shortly after, a silhouette carrying a crossbow emerged from the darkness and started to move slowly in the direction of the gate.

''Last time I checked, they didn't have many men. It should be a couple of those failed subjects and a few dozen ordinary people. I can get rid of them before I look for the item holder.''  Raydon walked calmly through the factory's entrance.

He entered carelessly through the front door because he knew there was nothing inside that could hurt him right now, aside from the item holder, who was his main target as a result of his earlier investigation. This method was quicker than hiding and dealing with each person individually.

''Hey! I heard a voice coming from the main gate.  Gaaghgh… ''

''What happened? Huh? Someone is sneaking in...  Agghgh… ''

''W-who are you?! Gahh… ''

''Oh, that was a monster, nice. ''  Raydon said while looking at his last kill in surprise.

He was constantly drawing an arrow from the black hole in front of him and shooting everyone he saw with his perfect archery. He was occasionally killing weakened chimeras and fallen soldiers who appeared from the right and left, alongside ordinary people.

''When you raid a scientist item holder's headquarters, extra experience points are probably a given. Hehe. '' Raydon kept on killing everyone he came across in a happy manner.

''And this should be the last... '' Raydon said, shooting the last man he saw trying to flee in the head.

''Wow, look at this mess. '' He looked around at the bloody corpses and said as he put his crossbow in his dimensional storage.

He had raided a gang's headquarters and killed dozens of people in just minutes. He also gained a total of 160 experience points from the monsters he killed.

''Well, if the item holder has still not shown up despite the commotion, he is either not present at the moment or is quietly conducting his experiments in his lab. I'm hoping that the first option is the one. ''

Raydon noticed the metal stairs leading upstairs as he continued to scan the area. From where he was, he could also see the red iron door upstairs. The appearance of this door suggested that it was the most essential location in this factory.

He started climbing the stairs while still looking around, and his gaze was drawn to the large factory cauldrons that were bubbling and steaming. He had seen these cauldrons that smelt bad and were constantly boiling on his previous visit, but he couldn't see what was inside up close. He walked up to one, giving in to his curiosity.

"What's this? Some sort of stew? '' Raydon grimaced at the smell and peered into one of them, but what he saw made even him sick to his stomach.

This huge cauldron was filled to the brim with various, mostly bone-like body parts, some of which seemed to be human, bubbling about in a green slime-like liquid.

''I think it's a material he's using in his experiments. I'd better find more information about item crafting as soon as possible. '' After giving it some thought, Raydon retreated and approached the red door.

He walked forward and stopped in front of the door. Unable to find a doorknob to turn, he then tried pushing it, but that didn't work either.

"How do they open this door from the outside? Should I try to break in? '' When he decided that this was the best course of action at the time, he kicked the door.

*Bang*

He stepped back to gauge the impact of his kick and sighed when he saw that the door had not even sustained a scratch.

''It appears that I lack the strength necessary to break it. I suppose I'll have to try the hard way. ''

As if he really didn't want to use this method, he sighed reluctantly, approached the door again, clenched his fist, took his stance, and knocked.

He took another step back, and a moment later the door creaked open to reveal a face behind it with pendulous gray skin, a few strands of white hair, and a few remaining teeth.

"Didn't I say don't bother me? What do you want again? ''

Herman yelled angrily, but when he saw a face he didn't recognize, he paused and inquired thoughtfully.

''Hm? Who are you? I hadn't seen you before… Wait… '' Herman continued, sniffing the air with a surprised expression on his face.

''Why do I smell death from you? You are not a fallen soldier. It doesn't smell like a dead body either... It smells more like me, like the element of death... Wait a minute, I smelled this scent a few days ago as well... Kahkahkah. I knew at the time that it wasn't due to my negligence. You were sneaking up here trying to spy on me huh? You are very courageous. Kahkahkah. ''

As he spoke, Herman's expression changed from one shape to another, and he ended with a laugh that was not entirely clear whether he was coughing or just laughing.

He sensed him a few days ago when Raydon came here to investigate, but he hadn't paid much attention to it because he assumed he was just tired then. But now he was certain, what he sensed was the element of death, and interestingly that person was standing in front of him right now.
