''What the hell are those? ''
Rolling rapidly towards Raydon from the opposite direction were five boulders that appeared to be crystals similar to those covering the walls.
He observed the crystal balls rolling towards him side by side and realized that the only way to avoid them was to turn around and run, as the corridor was too narrow for him to dodge to the left or right.
''I don't believe that a few crystals rolling toward me will be enough to cause any harm. '' Following his statement, Raydon pulled his shortsword from his dimensional storage.
''Spirit Wave. ''
He activated his skill and swung his sword at the crystals that were rolling towards him. The wave of black smoke that emanated from his sword quickly collided with the crystal ball in the middle, and it then dispersed into the surrounding air.
"They appear to be quite sturdy." Raydon mused to himself when he observed that his skill did not deal any damage and did not even slow down the target.
He declared, "I have absolutely no intention of going back."
''Rusty Chain. ''
Raydon, standing still, swung his one-meter-long chain that looked ordinary and rusty onto one of the crystal ledges to his right and tied it securely, before doing the same with the other end and attaching it to a crystal bulge on his left.
As he waited patiently for the crystal balls to come rolling towards him, gaining speed with each passing moment, he made sure that both ends of the chain were securely anchored to the crystals on his right and left.
He had made the decision to use his own body to stop these crystal balls; however, his strength stat was insufficient for the task, so he would use the chain to support himself so that he would not be thrown back by the blow from the crystal balls.
Raydon believed his defense was sufficient to stop these balls, and he had no desire to run back all the way.
Moreover, he could simply lie on the ground and wait for these balls to pass over him if he relied on his defense; however, there was another crucial factor that led him to confront them head-on with his chains.
As these crystal balls drew nearer, Raydon—whose Death Sense skill has been active from the very beginning—made a startling discovery. The HP bars on these crystal balls.
His skill normally allowed him to see the HP bars of all living things while ignoring obstacles, but the HP bars didn't appear until the rolling balls got close to him.
'I believe that in this dimension, the application of investigative-type skills is constrained. ' He thought.
He was relieved to have at last located a source of experience points.
Raydon prepared for impact by gripping the chain with both hands as the crystal balls came closer. As the balls got closer and closer, he could feel the ground shaking beneath him. The ball's momentum was picking up speed with every second that went by.
*Crash*
The balls slammed into Raydon's body and the chain with a deafening thud, sending a shockwave through his system. The force of the impact shook him to his very core, but he gritted his teeth and forced himself to hang on.
The weight of the ball caused the chain to stretch, but it managed to maintain its integrity, preventing him from being thrown backwards by the impact of the blow.
Because Raydon has such a high level of stamina, the chain was able to withstand the impact without breaking; however, the crystals to which the chains were attached came dangerously close to shattering; fortunately, they maintained their hold as well.
He exclaimed, "Whew, this blow shook me," as he looked at the five crystal balls that appeared to be larger than himself and had finally lost all momentum and stood still in front of him.
His body had taken the blow like a champ and continued to function normally.
During the time that Raydon was congratulating himself on the robustness of his body, the shape of these crystals that resembled balls began to gradually shift.
Initially, as the crystal balls emitted a cracking sound, they began to tremble and shake as if they were attempting to escape their rocky exterior. Cracks started to show up on the surface of the crystals gradually but surely. After that, first the arms, then the legs, and finally the head emerged, and the crystals completely transformed into golems made of crystal.
''Ah, so that explains why they have HP bars.'' Raydon mused as he stood in front of them and observed the crystal golems exercising their muscles and examining their joints to ensure that everything was operating as it should.
After a brief moment of observation of the golems, he launched the first attack before allowing the golems to have their turn.
A burst of black flames engulfed the chain in his hand, and the already-cracked crystal spikes gave way to allow the chain to fall free. After aiming at one of the golems, Raydon swung his flaming chain straight at it.
The chain became entangled with the head of one of the golems, and the crystal head, accompanied by black flames, first darkened, then developed cracks, and finally shattered.
'They're not very sturdy, it seems. ' When Raydon realized his assault was successful, he reflected on it.
In fact, the reason his attack was successful was not because golems had a poor defense; on the contrary, golems had a high defense; however, the curse and dark flames of Raydon's chain lowered their defense, which eventually led to them being easily shattered by the heat of the flames.
[Lv.1 Crystal Golem(F-Rank) has been killed.]
[You gained 20 experience.]
He checked the number of experience points he had gained on the system message before quickly defeating the remaining golems in the same manner.
''I really hope that there will be more of these. '' Raydon said as he gathered the shattered crystals from the ground and placed them in his dimensional storage. He needed more than just 5 monsters to reach his main objective of gaining experience points from this inheritance.
