'What the hell are they doing? ' As Raydon made his way back to his street and overheard his cult's conversations, he frowned and thought.
Not even Raydon had considered the full extent to which their actions could go. It was only his intention to have them clean his house and make it more livable, but now the individuals to whom he had delegated this responsibility have begun cleaning not only the interior of his house but also the surrounding street as well.
'Nevermind. Maybe it's not that bad. 'Raydon spent some time taking in his surroundings before reflecting.
Helping Dan and his crew was done with the intention of taking advantage of them to complete tasks that he either did not wish to complete or did not have the time to complete. For the time being, Raydon decided to see the bright side and accept that they were still doing their job, albeit with a touch of overkill.
Raydon emerged from his hiding place and began to approach his house; as soon as the other people in the group saw him, they ran to give him a warm welcome.
''Welcome back master. ''
…
..
.
''Welcome back master. ''
Raydon acknowledged the greetings with a smile and a head nod, and then he continued on his way home.
'As expected. 'After all that Raydon had witnessed outside, he entered the front door of his home and was no longer taken aback by anything he saw inside.
The first thing that Raydon observed was that the Inside seemed to have significantly increased in size since the time he had left it. The house of Raydon, which previously had only one room, now had a total of three rooms.
'They smashed the walls down and joined the other house rooms together, huh? Clever. ' Raydon walked into his house laughing.
Raydon's old room, which had only a bed, closet, and a few other necessities, was decorated to look like a bedroom in a newlywed's house. It appeared to have been thoughtfully decorated, from the carpeting on the floor to the framed paintings on the walls, in addition to the brand-new double bed and larger closet.
"They even got me a TV. '' Raydon peered into a newly added room and noticed a large television set opposite some black leather armchairs. It was the second electronic device Raydon had seen in this world after his cell phone.
In general, item holders used life-core-powered items rather than everyday electronic gadgets, whereas ordinary people continued to use electronic gadgets in the same way that they did in Raydon's old world.
Naturally, the level of development of these electronic devices was not as advanced as it was in Raydon's previous world; in fact, the television that was sitting in front of him could be considered a very old model.
Since Raydon didn't have a lot of things to do, he decided to turn on the television and see what kind of shows were available in this world.
*Chime*
"You are looking at the place in the middle of the city where the F-Rank dimensional break occurred not too long ago. They came here mere minutes after the break and stopped the hundreds of monsters you see behind me, saving the city. ''
When Raydon turned on the television, he discovered that there were only three channels, and, interestingly, all three channels were simultaneously broadcasting the same news.
There was what appeared to be a news reporter holding a microphone, and in the background he displayed what appeared to be hundreds of dead blue wolves scattered across the rubble of collapsed buildings and broken roadways.
''Dimension break huh? '' Raydon thought.
A dimensional break was similar to a rift event, but on a much smaller scale and with much higher frequency.
Dimensional breaks would happen every day or two, and they can happen anywhere on Earth, whether it's in the middle of a busy city or in the middle of a desert. A dimensional rip would cause a portal to open in the sky, releasing hundreds of monsters into the area before closing again in an instant.
If these monsters were not stopped in time, of course, they would wreak havoc on the area, destroying everything in it and attacking anyone they came across.
However, the world's item holders had safeguards in place to ensure that this wouldn't occur. A small number of families, particularly those affiliated with the academy, possessed item holders with the ability to foresee the location and size of dimensional breaks. They would use this information to dispatch a response team ahead of time, stopping the event before it could cause widespread destruction.
'For this very purpose, I can attend the academy, ' Raydon muttered.
He had previously decided it was too soon to enroll in the academy, but after seeing this, he began to change his mind. Typically, these dimensional breaks occurred at the F-E or D-rank, and very infrequently at the C-rank.
Of course, there were also those with significantly higher ranks, but even more so than the rift event itself, these breaks were extremely uncommon. Because of this, not long after it was discovered the locations where these dimensional breaks would take place, the Academy chose a group of individuals to undertake the mission of traveling there and killing the monsters.
This was due to the fact that new item holders, particularly those who were young and held promise, were given the opportunity to gain more experience points and gold coins.
Joining the academy would provide Raydon with an additional opportunity for experience farming if he were granted the permissions necessary to be sent to these dimensional breaks.
In the fraction of a second that it took Raydon to go through all of these thoughts, the reporter who was giving the presentation of the news suddenly shouted excitedly while pointing somewhere.
''Look, look our heroes are here. '' The camera quickly made its way to the location that the reporter had indicated, and it captured a young group of five individuals slowly making their way through the bodies of dead wolves while carrying magnificent and attention-grabbing equipment.
