Raydon contemplated the situation and pondered. 'Seems like my daily food expenses have risen once more, and relying solely on E-Rank meats won't be enough. '
The blue-grade and higher body enchantments that item holders used typically resulted in an increase in the amount of energy they needed to obtain from the daily mob meat they consumed; however, in the case of Raydon, this requirement has nearly doubled despite the fact that he is not currently using any new body enchantments.
'I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that my stats have improved. Is it due to the fact that my title? ' Raydon pondered.
According to his understanding, the rising stats of an item holder enhanced their bodies in a similar way that body enchantments did; however, unlike body enchantments, the rising stats of an item holder did not have the same negative side effects and did not require any additional energy to function.
Consequently, as Raydon pondered the reason behind his increased need for energy, a realization started to take shape in his mind. He began to have a sneaking suspicion that this change might have something to do with his title.
It was something that had piqued his interest, especially taking into consideration the fact that, in contrast to the titles of other item holders, his title had been consistently awarding him additional sub-skills, bringing the total number of sub-skills he possessed up to 20.
Because of the striking similarity between these sub-skills and body enchantments, he reasoned that, just like the body enchantments, these sub-skills probably required additional energy.
'While I cannot confirm if there are others have the ability to upgrade their titles or acquire additional sub-skills like I can, there is no doubt that the title I possess is truly unique. ' Raydon pondered.
It looked like the pieces of the puzzle were going to come together, which would provide a reasonable explanation for his increased energy consumption.
Raydon appreciated the continuous acquisition of new sub-skills bestowed upon him by his title, considering it a remarkable feature. However, he started to feel anxious about the ever-increasing price of the food that he needed to consume on a daily basis. If his need for sustenance continued to grow at this rate or faster, he was going to have a problem, and it had the potential to become a serious one.
''I suppose I'll have to find a solution to my food crisis. ''
Exactly two hours later, Raydon thought to himself, realizing that after eating the kilograms of meat he had prepared for at least several weeks, what was left in his dimensional storage would only be enough for him to last for one more week. In addition to this, the fact that he consumed such a large quantity of food caused him to waste both time and gold coins.
While Raydon was trying to come up with a solution to this issue, he suddenly turned his attention to the sound of the door opening and looked at the person who had come in.
Galen greeted him by saying, "Cousin, I finally found you," as he entered the room with a broad grin on his face.
'Doesn't anyone knock when they enter a room in this mansion? ' Raydon thought.
''Man, it's been a whole hour since I started looking for you. I had to resort to asking the dreaded head maid about your whereabouts. '' Galen said with tension in his voice.
Finding Raydon had proven to be a rather straightforward task, as Galen realized. Each person he had approached for information had mistakenly directed him to Raydon's old room. Galen continued his inquiries, unconvinced that anyone would choose to occupy such a filthy space, unaware that only two people were aware of Raydon's current location. Fortunately, he happened upon Diam by chance, and despite his apprehension towards her, Galen summoned the courage to ask for guidance. Thanks to this encounter, he was able to locate the correct room and successfully find Raydon.
''So, why were you looking for me?'' Raydon stood up and asked out of his natural curiosity.
The grin that was plastered across Galen's face indicated that he was quite content, and the fact that he had gone to such great lengths and persisted in searching for him suggested that the motivation behind his actions might be intriguing.
Galen's voice resonated with excitement as he delivered the news. "My father has given me the items that they had promised, and in accordance with our arrangement, I have brought your share of these items here." The happiness etched across his face intensified with each passing moment.
''And? '' When Raydon responded, his tone was riddled with suspicion because he was certain that there was something else responsible for his happiness.
Galen's words were filled with astonishment as he continued, his excitement palpable. "I don't know what you did, but they unexpectedly decided to give me double what they initially promised." As he spoke, Galen retrieved a satchel from his dimensional storage, revealing 40 green-grade expansion orbs nestled inside, and handed them over to Raydon.
Due to the fact that his reward had been increased, he was now providing Raydon with twice as much as he had initially promised.
''So you got 200 thanks to me, huh? '' Raydon chuckled as he took the expansion orbs.
"Haha, I would love to give more, but these are really valuable to me, so perhaps another time," Galen laughed awkwardly, realizing the implication behind Raydon's words.
"So, what about the inheritance key?" Raydon inquired, reminding Galen of their agreement that, in addition to the 10% share of the expansion orbs, Galen would also provide him with another inheritance key.
"Oh, it's here too," Galen replied. "Sadly, they didn't double it, but they replaced the water element inheritance key that was originally intended to be a reward for me with this one when my father learned that I was going to give it to you." Galen retrieved another object from his dimensional storage, presenting it to Raydon.
