Chapter 322 Fighting The Region Boss (Part 5)

''I have to admit, if I had been on the receiving end of that attack, I would have surely perished before I could even react,'' Nysora confessed, struggling to contain her astonishment.

As the battle maid with the highest agility and speed among them, she was well aware of the limitations of her own abilities. The speed of the monster far surpassed anything she had ever experienced, leaving her with the impression that she had no chance of defending herself.

Nevertheless, it was not solely about speed; the most remarkable aspect was the reflexes required to respond to movements that were so lightning-fast. Nysora had trained for years in the Demugen family's techniques within the training formation, honing her hand-eye coordination and focus to evade attacks even with a speed disadvantage.

Nevertheless, despite the fact that she was unable to precisely follow the sequence of moves, she was aware that Raydon's successful parry involved more than just being focused on avoiding the attacks.

"You mentioned that he is using our techniques, correct?" Nysora inquired, her gaze fixed unwaveringly on Raydon.

While it wasn't entirely unexpected for Raydon, an outcast from the Demugen family, to employ their techniques, there was an unmistakable difference in his execution.

"Yes, but not entirely the same," Mell responded.

When Nysora and the others heard this answer, it caused a change in the expressions on their faces. Even though it was still very early in the battle, they already had the impression that Raydon's dagger technique and the evasion technique that allowed him to avoid the attack of the boss had something distinct in common that they were unable to identify.

"It's too early to grasp the intricacies now. Keep observing," Mell advised.

It was more important for them to see the fundamentals of the technique being performed in person rather than attempt to verbally explain.

"Hey, is that all you've got? I know you're better than this. Show me," Raydon taunted the region boss, locking eyes with it. They stood face-to-face, a silent challenge passing between them.

Raydon was well aware that the creature had not yet demonstrated its full potential, which was even greater than the incredible speed it had already shown.

"Nice," Raydon muttered with a sense of satisfaction as he observed the region boss launching another attack. The creature now recognized him as a formidable threat and was determined to eliminate him.

The boss extended one of its arms, lunging towards Raydon's chest in a swift, straight-angle attack. Even to the spectators, it was evident that this assault was visibly faster than the previous one.

However, Raydon easily sidestepped the attack by gracefully shifting his body to the side, creating the illusion that he had narrowly escaped it.

"Good," Raydon remarked, noticing the other blades on the creature's arms were not mere decorations. He observed the second blade coming diagonally from below, aimed at his head.

Raydon made a subtle movement with his head, tilting it back slightly, and watched as the blade passed in front of his eyes, narrowly missing the target it was aiming for by only a few inches.

However, the attack that the region boss was launching was not over yet. It swung the blade on its left arm towards Raydon's apparent blind spot, seizing the opportunity to continue its chain of attacks.

"Fiery Bir…" In the belief that Raydon would most likely be unable to avoid this third assault, Nysora started to make her move to intervene. Nevertheless, she quickly realized that her involvement was not required.

*Cling*

Instead of evading the incoming blade, Raydon swiftly and masterfully adjusted the grip of the dagger in his right hand, perfectly parrying the blade from his blind spot as if he had eyes in the back of his head.

But the region boss wasn't done yet. The creature then followed up with a fourth blow, swinging its arm in a lateral direction to aim for Raydon's torso at an angle that appeared to be impossible to avoid or parry.

In spite of the fact that everyone believed, once more, that Raydon would undoubtedly perish as a result of this assault, they were unaware of the fact that he had already anticipated that this attack would come.

This time, Raydon was aware that he did not possess the agility and speed necessary to dodge or parry this 4th attack, so he utilized a different strategy. He thrust the dagger that was held in his left hand with great force into the shoulder of the Region Boss's attacking arm.

*Clang*

When Raydon's dagger connected with the boss's shoulder with devastating force, the sound of metal on metal reverberated throughout the entire area. This resulted in the boss losing its stance, which in turn resulted in the abrupt termination of its chain attack.

"Hahahah, that's not bad," Raydon remarked, taking advantage of the momentary opening to step back and create distance between himself and the region boss. His laughter resonated with delight.

The fact that the Region Boss was able to use its speed advantage to make such an effective chain attack, utilizing all of its arms so effectively and in such a coordinated manner, gave him a great deal of satisfaction.

He even had to use his dagger to break up the attack and stop the final blow before it could be delivered.

"He really used his disturb technique," Mell muttered in astonishment, recognizing the technique Raydon had employed to stop the boss's last attack.

She had seen Raydon use this technique for the very first time on the training ground, where he stopped the formation of stones that were being thrown at him with ease. And now, in the midst of a real battle, he had employed this technique once again in order to disrupt the chain attack that was being executed by the region boss. The exhilaration coursing through her veins caused her blood to rush to her brain, heightening her excitement.

"What is the disturb technique? I can't even discern how many techniques he's using at the moment," Nysora asked, awestruck.
