When dealing with smaller mountains, it could burn through them in just a second, but when facing mountains over a kilometer high, Godzilla found it difficult.

So, directly burning through these peaks with its breath was a very time-consuming and laborious task. Godzilla chose another path to go around the mountains and attack from the rear.
