Chapter 574: What are you?

Van Hohenheim had gotten interested when he found out from the public announcement that something was going to happen at the Central Command headquarters.

Initially, the first thing that came into his mind was Father and the whole plan to sacrifice everyone. But it didn't make sense to call people to the Central as this doesn't give anything additional to the plan. Be it Central City or some countryside, the people will still die. But he still had his worries and headed to the Central.

So, he also squeezed into the crowd and came forward. His eyes were more than fine to see everything clearly. He saw Bradley whom he knew was a Homunculus.

Then for the first time, he saw Alexander. Hohenheim knew Alchahestry and it was helpful in reading other people. When he looked at Alexander, he sensed boundless energy and power within him. Not just him, but also in 4 other people and a cat beside them. It was less than Alexander but still more than what he himself or even the Dwarf(Father) had.

But, what shocked him was that he could not feel a Philosopher's stone in any of them. But, this made him even more interested as having this kind of power for a mortal without a Philosopher's stone was impossible. The only other option was if you were a literal God. But he doubted the Gods really existed as the truth was more like a Chaotic Neutral being than anything angelic.

Then, to his shock and happiness, these crazy strong beings seemed to be on the side of the people. They revealed the plot of Father and the real identity of Bradley and all the killings they did.

But he was now worried about something else, ~Who are they? Why would they reveal such information to people? Now everyone knows that to create the Philosopher's stone, human sacrifice is needed. I am afraid, too many deranged Alchemists will try to make it.~

"I must meet them." He told himself. Soon, to not much of his shock, the man named Alexander became the Fuhrer by people's choice.

...

Unlike the calm Hohenheim, Scar was in a rage, not physically but mentally. Today, he finally found out why his people and his brother were killed. He looked at his arms that still had a tattoo on. Then he looked at the stage. He knew that he couldn't defeat so many powerful people at once.

"Don't do anything stupid," Mei advised him, sensing his change of aura.

"Bradley is going to be dying anyway with his crimes out in the open, maybe, I can ask them to let me meet him." He thought.

...

That day and the coming week, the newspapers were going to be free so as to spread the words as much as possible.

As everyone liked free stuff, people who didn't read newspapers also read them that day. Many stumbled and fell on their butt when they found out what was going on in their country.

Many wanted to do something but they also knew they were powerless. Many were frustrated but they knew there was no point in that anymore as the plot had already been thwarted.

But they all wanted to know more. They wanted answers so many marched to the central city.

...

Alexander was inside the meeting room of Central Command. He was not here for a meeting but instead to punish some people.

"Ah, it's all right. Being a Fuhrer is just a government position. I'm not some evil king to get angry at you. Go and bring your dad now." He ordered.

Soon, a man entered. He was fairly tall, broad-shouldered gentleman with the appearance of a man of relatively healthy middle-age. He wore his long, golden-blond hair in a loose, shoulder-length ponytail with two or three loose strands of hair falling over his brow and sported a full Donegal-style beard on his square jaw. He also wore spectacles over his golden eyes.

"Ah, you look like a scientist. I'm something of a scientist myself. Come, take a seat. What's your name, kid?" Alexander asked.

Van Hohenheim was a bit taken aback by Alexander's friendly nature. He hadn't been called a kid in a long time. He also felt weird as he was 450 years old. But, for some reason, when Alexander said it, he felt like he was really smaller than Alexander.

"My name is Van Hohenheim. I have something important to talk to you about." He said with a stern expressionless face.

"Oh, Hohenheim? I thought it would be Elric." Alexander asked.

"That... Was my wife's surname." Hohenheim explained, but with that, a glint of sorrow appeared on his face.

"Okay, let's talk. Here, have some tea." Alexander handed him a cup of Iroh's special tea.

"So, what do you want to ask?" Alexander inquired.

"What are you?" Hohenheim bluntly asked.

[A/N: This arc will be ending soon. Father will be appearing and retaliate against Alexander.]

[A/N 2: Oh boy, for some reason, I am not able to write as fast as I used to these days. I just feel too tired sometimes. But, I know If I stop, I will lose all my focus and this work will never be finished. So, I try to keep up no matter how much time it takes. This is why uploads are late these days.]
