Chapter 1040 Part 1: Diana Walter

From MC'S Perspective:

A week later,

Morning sunlight filtered into the dean's office, illuminating the stacks of reports he was engrossed in. A large blue screen displayed various pieces of information, serving as a digital assistant.

Suddenly, a sharp beep cut through the quiet. A call from an anonymous number appeared on the screen. Intrigued, the old man answered.

"Is this the Dean of Yellow River Academy?" a woman's voice inquired.

"Yes, this is the dean," he replied.

"Hello, I'm Diana Walter, a messenger from the Mage Union," the woman introduced herself. "I've been contacting academies in the region to inform them about the next opportunity for Wizard Heart Competition winners. Your academy is next on my list. I'll be there in a few hours to discuss this opportunity in detail with you and your winners."

The dean's eyes widened in disbelief. "I look forward to your visit, esteemed guest," he replied, still processing the unexpected news.

The call ended, leaving the old man stunned. He had just spoken to a representative from the prestigious Mage Union.

Meanwhile, I stepped into the library. My routine was unchanged from yesterday—delving deeper into ancient sites. Before I could begin my research, my communication watch buzzed to life. The dean's number flashed on the screen.

I quickly exited the library to find a quiet spot and answered the call. Assuming the dean wanted an update on my whereabouts, I prepared my response. However, his words took me by surprise.

"Vincent, where are you?" he inquired.

"I'm in the library, Dean," I replied.

A weight lifted from my shoulders. This week had been a mental grind, and I was starting to feel trapped within the academy's walls. Now, there was hope.

Curiosity gnawed at me. What could this opportunity be? If it was a treasure, I hoped for something useful. But why would someone travel to deliver it personally? Perhaps this opportunity was something entirely different.

I asked, "Dean, do you have any idea what this opportunity is about?"

The dean wasn't surprised by my question. He was curious too, but decided to share what he knew.

"The Mage Union is a holy place for wizards. Think of it as the most powerful organization in the world. Its members are said to have traveled far and wide, amassing knowledge of various magics and meditation techniques."

"Some of their renowned members have even created modern meditation methods for specialized magics."

"There are rumors that some powerful members have visited nearby stars, but this information is classified. What we do know is that the Mage Union is the ultimate goal for all wizards."

"Someone from this prestigious organization is coming to see you. Make sure you make the most of this opportunity," the dean said with reverence.

I was both surprised and deeply shocked. I had heard whispers about the Mage Union, but this was the first time I'd learned about its true power. A look of longing appeared in my eyes.

...

A few hours later, a colossal, hexagonal white aircraft descended upon the capital city. Its design was unlike any seen before, dwarfing the city's familiar airships in both size and scale. The aircraft's shadow cast a vast expanse over half the city, inducing widespread fear and panic among the populace.

Even the city guards, accustomed to handling various situations, were dumbfounded. They instinctively recognized this as something extraordinary, a force beyond their comprehension. The possibility of confrontation seemed futile.

Wizards from different organizations stationed in the city immediately relayed the news to their respective headquarters. The Royal Force Hall, Weapon Palace Academy, and Yellow River Academy all dispatched messages to their upper echelons.

Inside the massive white aircraft, a woman dressed in white issued a command to the crew. "Head to Yellow River Academy," she declared. With astonishing speed, the hexagonal behemoth turned and vanished from sight, leaving a stunned city in its wake as it embarked on its journey.
