No one expected StoneSword to not know about something. He was someone who pioneered the Fort Siege speedrun and tested so many strategies before. Not to mention, he was the world record holder.
"The dining room door will be closed after they enter and can't be opened before Gargantua is killed. And even if they managed to kill him and open the door again, there was a barbarian army from the ground waiting for them. Breaking through probably needs more than 10 minutes.
"That's a waste of time already. We haven't counted the time needed to reach the top of the fort and take over the flag. Even if the progress is twice as fast with two people, they will need another 10 minutes, around 20 minutes added with travel time. They will only finish in 50 minutes in this case."
StoneSword's explanation was easy to understand. When the pair killed the Gargantua, 20 minutes should've passed since the start. Added to the 30 minutes he talked about, the total time needed to finish this course was 50 minutes or more.
Of course, that was an ideal time. And everyone knew that no one could reach the ideal time without spending many hours grinding the same course every day.
'Breeze and Flexy should've been able to finish this run in under 48 minutes without any problem with my strategy. They are skilled enough for that. So why?' He asked himself but arrived at no answer. 'So curious.'
"I see! Does that mean they are really giving up?" Evelyn asked once again with a serious expression.
"I doubt they gave up." Lily was the one who answered this time, "I mean, look. They are still smiling. And it seems they have an idea."
-- They have arrived!
-- Two players versus Gargantua. This will not be an easy fight, but it is still easier than facing him alone
-- True. Gargantua's specialty is his hard defense. With two people, it will be easier to breach through it.
-- Come on! Show us something, Breeze!
-- Flexy! Don't you disappoint us!
-- WOOF WOOF! WOOOOFFFf!!!
Max reached the dining room and entered with Flexy. His friend managed to follow him closely without getting left behind.
At the end of the room, Gargantua raised his face and grabbed his large sword.
"Who are-"
But before he finished his sentence, a sword was flying toward him.
Clang!
He managed to deflect it.
A spark was sent flying together with a clashing metal sound.
Max spent no time hearing the boss' sentence as he shouted at Flexy.
"As planned!"
"Alright!"
"Kuh!"
He was forced to get on his knee due to the force. While wounded, Gargantua's ferocity didn't even decrease a little bit. He was actually getting stronger. That was why most players opted for a hit kill by aiming at his neck or heart when he lowered his guard.
Thus, a shield or dual-wielding weapons were recommended to those trying to kill the boss in a speedrun, which took them around 20 minutes. That was the time frame when the boss changed his attack.
However...
"Got you."
Max stepped on Flexy's shoulder while raising both axes above his head. He brought them down without hesitation at Gargantua's open neck, slicing it cleanly. The decapitated head rolled down to the floor with a red mosaic spurted out.
-- Oooh! They killed Gargantua!
-- Will they run out now?!
-- Kyaa, breed me! I mean, hyaaa!!
-- So handsome! Breeze is so cool! He's running around and killing the boss easily!
-- Flexy loses his golden armor but he doesn't lose his shine!
-- Damn! Their teamwork is no worse than that of StoneSword and LilyPixel!
At this point in time, players usually warned those on the roof or shouted happily. But not for them.
"How much time do we spend here?!" Max immediately ran to the pile of weapons while Flexy flipped the long table and put it against the wall.
"19 minutes! We have enough time for sub 45!" He shouted excitedly, stood before the table, and held his shield to cover his whole body, "I am ready anytime! Shoot them!"
"On it!"
Stopping beside the pile of weapons brought by Flexy earlier, Max took one in each hand and threw them. Before the weapons reached their targets, he took others from the pile and threw them in the same direction.
Each weapon pierced the long table. The first one was just right above Flexy's head, and the second one was a meter above it. Slowly but surely, all weapons were embedded in the long table and created something like a ladder toward the opening in the ceiling.
The viewers went crazy when they realized what they were trying to do.
-- That...
-- Hey, this bastard is doing something ridiculous again
-- Breeze, he always surprised us
-- That's a ladder, right?
-- Is he trying to climb that?!
-- That's insane!
